everyone i've talked to about this has been completely unaware so: if you didn't know already, there's going to be a solar eclipse, with totality or coverage of 90% or more in some places, over a lot of europe, on august 12th 2026. in the uk it will start just after 6pm, and the maximum will be at 7:13pm.
here is a map of the path of the eclipse (from timeanddate)
get eclipse glasses if you want to look at it. it is not safe to look at through sunglasses. ok informative post over o7
mostly missing me but i know a bunch of folks that are right in the path 🥰 enjoy it for me, my lovelies!
being a boy in the zutara fandom is like being the boy character in an 80s cartoon like rainbow brite or strawberry shortcake where the writers realized that tho their show is marketed to girls there is a non-zero number of little gay boys also watching so they make a boy character named like Blueberry Ben or something and he comes along for the adventures but he never undermines the girls at all, doesn't have a crush on any of them, he's just part of the friend group and maybe occasionally he gets into some hijinks by being a little bit of a himbo and the girls come save him and then they all berate him like "come onnnn Blueberry Ben what have we told you about crossing through Old Man McGunkus's pumpkin patch? He is NOT afraid to invoke castle doctrine!" and he comes along for adventures but the girls are mostly in charge. and he gets to come to the slumber parties.
upset no one has giggled at the joke about castle doctrine......i thought that was pretty good..........
I DID have a giggle at that part, but it was bc it was 2am and my eyes were very sleepy so i read "castle" as "cattle" and imagined that it was a family friendly version where he just lets all his cows out and they come and stand in your way and maybe lick you
Reblog to invoke cattle doctrine and send a herd of cows to stand in the way of and lick prev
Suddenly struck with a need to explain to you how boat pronouns work (I work in the marine industry).
When you're talking about the design of the boat, you say "it".
When the boat is still being built, your say "it".
When the boat is nearing completion, you can say "it" or "she".
When the boat is floating in the water you probably say "she", unless there is still a lot of work to be done (e.g. no engine yet) then you say "it".
When the boat is officially launched and operating, you say "she". If you continue to say "it" at this point you are not incorrect but suspiciously untraditional. You are not playing the game.
If you are referring to a boat you don't really know anything about you may say "it" ("there's a big boat, it's coming this way"). But if you know its name, it's probably "she" ("there's the Waverley, she's on her way to Greenock").
If you are talking about boats in general, you say "it" ("when a boat is hit by a wave it heels over")
If you speak about a boat in complimentary terms, it's "she" ("she's a grand boat"). If you are being disparaging it may be it, but not necessarily ("it's as ugly as sin", "she's a grotty old tub").
If she has a boy's name, she's still she. "Boy James", "King Edward", "Sir David Attenborough"? The pronoun is she.
If it's a dumb barge (no engine), you say it. But if it's a rowing boat (no engine), you say she.
I hope this has cleared things up so that you may not be in danger of misgendering floating objects.
Hit "view post" and lost it
For those who don't know: Ikumi Nakamura is the woman who was senior artist on Bayonetta, and designed the titular character along with Hideki Kamiya. Their greatest moment of bonding was over their insistence that Bayonetta keep her glasses on at all times. Nakamura cannot go to horny jail. She is the warden.
Happy pride month to her and her exclusively
she made a comic about the experience on twitter

An Update from back in October I'm surprised wasn't added to this post. lol
I love the face of a woman having the time of her life.
Remember in 2010 when Taio Cruz said "I throw my hands up in the air sometimes"? I appreciated his restraint. You can't just throw your hands up in the air whenever. There's a time and a place, and that time was 2010, and the place was the club.

i'm actually not sure why sphaerodactylus are often called least geckos but i have to assume its just one of the least amounts of gecko you can get
I'm gonna say it, I do think that even the laziest person imaginable should have a roof over their head, food in their stomach, and access to healthcare
washing dishes is evil because you go "oh fuck there's so many dishes this is gonna take foreverrr" and then you enter the dish abyss and emerge with your abdomen somehow covered in water and your hands all wrinky and then you look at the clock and what felt like half an hour was actually 10 minutes
funny thing about anxiety is sometimes it kind of breaks your sense of danger. like i am known for repeatedly putting myself in situations that make my friends go "bro you couldve died. werent you scared?" and the answer is 👍 yjeah. i did it scared. i do everything scared. i didnt know that was the actual important kind of scary because i usually have to ignore my fears to function in society. it will happen again. watch out.
Every patient I've seen getting the keyboard pony treatment all have the same "....ok is this the hospital strength drugs I'm on" look on their face 🤣
