and NOOO im not just saying this because its my goat freddy carter okay… I think he’s very not game!michael but it could be a very cool way to explore the movie’s version of the afton family. especially when the family is so much different from the games, the addition of a michael that is so neglected and abused that he wishes to be like his father gives it the tragedy that the game family has. now whether elizabeth and crying child still exist in the movies cuz circus baby’s eyes were freaking green is unknown to us rn but like yeah…

like, the reason they’re canonically more likely to have adhd is bc their brains are hardwired for survival or whatever right, and they’re more likely to be dyslexic bc their brains are hardwired for ancient greek, and anyways that logic is kinda silly but i love it bc rick did it bc of his son’s adhd and dyslexia right. representation

anyways i think it would make sense for them to be more likely to be autistic, too

like, they tend to be more sensitive to their surroundings and pick up on things others don’t, allowing them to see through the mist. it would make sense for their brains to be really hardwired to pick up patterns and maintain strict routines ie training, etc + repetitive movements could help them out on the battlefield in the same way adhd does.

a lot of them have sort of obsessive special interests in things related to their godly parents, like nico w death, annabeth w architecture, percy w the sea, etc. plus, they tend to not feel like they “fit in” or “belong” in the real world, and before they find out abt being a demigod a lot of them think there’s something wrong w them. it’s only once they meet other ppl like them that they realize they aren’t alone

obviously a lot of this is also associated w adhd, but w rick’s logic i think this is fun to think of and makes a lot of sense! plus ✨ comorbidity ✨ exists and ppl w one disorder or condition often have others as well. adhd and autism often go hand in hand!

yes absolutely. and I raise you one of my personal favorite headcanons: I think the cj kids would have dyscalculia instead of dyslexia. since rome's language was latin, it doesn't make sense for them to have dyslexia with english rooted in latin. with the greeks, the dyslexia is due to their brains being hardwired to greek letters; i think the romans would be hardwired to roman numerals!!!

also autism would make a lot of sense for the romans as well bc of their structured nature w/ war games and fighting formations
