As someone who watched Scott’s pov first for Vampires, seeing everyone else’s INTENSE hatred of Scott Goldsmith is really funny

like from my original perspective Vampires was pretty silly, pretty chill, nothing too crazy happened- and then I go to watch Any Other pov and they’re literally going through hell & nine times out of ten it’s because of Scott Goldsmith

V!Scott was not a reliable narrator in the way that he framed things and I fear it affects me to this day

Thinking about the fact that in “sign of the times” the lyrics say “we don’t talk enough. we should open up” and in the scene right before on the deck, Grace tells Stratt “I talk too much, that’s my problem” and then she goes in and sings THAT SONG basically telling him that he should keep talking “too much”. Grace even tells Rocky that he’s sorry for talking “too much” and the whole movie is basically saying to keep talking to one another because that’s how we survive

I always see a bunch of Audhd, Adhd, Autistic, neurodivergent Grace, however I hardly see it for Simon when Mark himself is open about his Adhd. It shows a ton in his characters and I think it should be talked about more! He actually stims and shows those emotional/mental struggles in the movie if you look more in-depth.

An example here from someone else:

As much as I understand that of course Simon grew up in world where he is unmedicated or undiagnosed because of scare resources since we’re in the end of the world. It would definitely help him be able explain or understand himself if he was healing with Grace!

Was inspired by the wonderful post by @hailed-marys so me and @sam-i-am-27 got possessed by the demons and came out with this.

* Astrophage is more like a virus that either alters people, causing them to commit crimes or violent acts, or a power that supervillains are starting to use.

* Grace is still a middle school teacher who got bitten by the spider, obviously.

* Adrian is the one who stitched up the suit (the Aunt May of this universe).

* He has all the perks of a normal Spider-Man, but he's still Grace, so he's incredibly clumsy. He does have a super-strong spider sense, and that's what saves him 100% of the time, but he absolutely does not have the agility. When adrenaline kicks in, he can do anything, but otherwise he'll trip over the most ridiculous things.

* He was wearing his yellow raincoat the first time he saved someone, so now he wears it over his suit (along with his white Converse).

* The spider was discovered by SHIELD (which is undercover as a scientific research facility that Grace works for part-time). After the original test subjects (who were only able to survive the spider mutations if they possessed a specific gene) were killed in an attack, Eva delivered the spider to Grace so he could be bitten before other villains got their hands on that power. (My boy gets unwillingly turned into a savior in every universe.)

* Simon is still an ex-convict who, in exchange for his freedom, is asked by the evil company of the day to test a series of mines infected by what appears to be blood from a meteorite (which eventually turns out to be the symbiote Ellie!).

* At first, they wanted to kill each other, but they end up becoming besties.

Their eyes open to find sand in their hair and the ocean lapping at their feet. Jon reaches a hand to where Martin had stabbed him, finding a closed scar and only a dull ache, The Eye's last attempt to heal him before he died. Martin is laying next to him, staring at Jon like he's an angel waiting to drag Martin to the next life. He looks scared and hopeful at the same time.

"We made it." The relief on Martin's face is instant, as are the tears. Jon cries too, rolling over to lay atop Martin and cry together.

They bask in the blissful feeling of being alive before daring to explore the house on the cliffs, hoping to find it abandoned. They do nothing to right their bloodied clothes, running off the left over adrenaline and simply hoping for the best. They knock on the door and open it upon no reply.

They come face to face with another man, eyes wide in surprise. His blond hair is neatly arranged, his face clean-shaven. The stranger looks down at their blood-stained clothes and lets out a heavy sigh.

"Fuck, not again." the blond man's shoulders sag in defeat.

A second stranger comes in, dark hair, scar along his cheek. Both of them look strong enough to shove Martin and Jon down the cliffs if they decided they wanted to. The fear is crawling back under his skin, not the same as being Seen and Known (capital), but still being perceived (lowercase). Jon and Martin are still standing stupidly in the doorway, as if they weren't intruding on another couple's(?) home. Jon tries to salvage anything from this unfortunate situation, praying to whatever (hopefully friendly) god(s) exist in this Somewhere Else that these two don't get a rush from killing trespassers for a simple mistake.

"I- Sorry we- We can- uhm..."

"Ryland... Who are they?"

"I have no clue, Simon."

I love Rocktiz, but I can't draw him with human Grace because I'm just too attached to the interspecie bond between Grace and Rocky. It's the soul of the movie and its so beautiful.
