personally? i enjoy being a fan of characters who have done Wrong. i like when a character is not a perfect victim, has hurt people, has transgressed, has done bad things. sometimes its nice to feel the sting yknow? and to recognize that a character is not a flawless perfect victim, but is deserving of understanding and compassion anyway. a lot of people in fandom refuse to let go of moral absolutism and its... rough.
Could you write for Vergil in which he reunites with Lady in Red!reader (who's a silly, whimsical nerd) after the events of DMC5? But reader meets Dante too, and Vergil's a bit jealous because reader kinda gets along with Dante better. I don't mind how you write this (one-shot/headcanon or whatevs) tyty 🫶🏽😚

↠ So for context, I'm gonna go w/ the route that Vergil and Reader HAVE NOT seen each other since before the events of DMC3 (As I believe Nero was born when Vergil was 17-18, so before the events of DMC3, as he is 19 there)
When Vergil reunites with you, he feels so many emotions. He's glad to see you, but carries guilt after being gone for so long. (Not to mention, he just committed mass murder)
He introduces you to Dante, his brother, and you two hit it off instantly. Vergil does feel a bit jealous as he hasn't seen you in a while, and he'd rather you spend some time with him first instead of Dante. Assuming you aren't upset at him.
Nero does notice Vergil's behavior, but chooses not to say anything with the more recent events; he is just glad you are okay.
You and Dante get along very well he practically adores you and he does try to piss his brother off a little bit by spending a little more time with you.
But once Vergil does get you alone, he spends time with you and catches up. He apologizes for being gone for so long, and he won't leave again.
His jealousy fades away when he has you alone. He doesn't want to lose you at all, especially to his brother.
