I suppose I should do an introduction
Hi! I'm Andi Marie. Well, not really. This is a pen name (and those of you who know my real name, please keep it to yourself <3). I'm a writer and an artist. I revel in angst and strive for happily ever afters. I write about disaster bis with heaps of trauma finding love and kindness.
Steamy and queer is why I write under a pen name. Lord knows what would happen if my more conservative family members found my books with bisexual MCs that have sex with men and women ON THE PAGE. Not in like erotica level of details (I don't think (tbh I'm kind of a steamy romance newb but I'm trying to learn)) but still. I'm pretty sure they already judge me for being a godless heathen. I don't want them also judging me for writing about two women going for a roll in the hay. Not literally. I write fantasy but there's yet to be a hay scene. Maybe I should...
ANYWAY, if you go here you can see the list of my projects. You can see murder batman is my current one but really that's just the one I want to publish first. I'm actually working on duology #2 of my Jane Austen retellings. It's pride and prejudice in a future fantasy setting with magical hovercars, smartphones, megametrolpolis type cities where the high rises are impossibly high and where the rich elite live in a shiny chrome world while the poor are stuck in the lower city with it's crumbling perpetual twilight. There's also unicorns (actually real and proven to exist and there's even drugs made from their horns and stuff), dragons (well those still a myth to the public but the first duology will prove they aren't actually), phoenixes (similar to dragons but they'll be in book 2 of the duology).
This story came about because I got a hankerin to write a p&p retelling. I'd written a novella in this world and fell in love with the setting and I couldn't stop thinking about putting p&p into this world. I'm going to adapt my novella to be sense and sensibility and it's going to be the first duology. I decided on p&p being duology 2 because I thought it might be interesting to set it after some events that happen in the novella.
I have this idea that each first book will be a jane austen retelling and then the 2nd book will be about the MC and her LI furthur exploring their relationship while also running from the government that wants one or both of them dead while they're also suddenly caring for a previously only thought of as mythological beast. I feel like by the end of the series of duologies there needs to be some big fight against the government since the world is very much a dystopian cyberpunk world but I'm not sure how to go about that. Maybe I just tell these people's stories and let the readers decide how that big fight goes? idk. That's a ways off. I have to finish murder batman first.
