Yan! Postman Headcanons...
-> TW(s): Delusional behaviour, unhealthy dependency, manipulation, stalking, can be interpreted as platonic or romantic. Usual yan content.
Somebody posted a yandere-ish concept for postman, they're in my reblogs if you wish to see it! -> credits to them for the idea.
-> I'd like to preface that Postman is a rather harmless yandere. Not to say that he doesn't harm you or others, but he's not entirely murderous. He doesn't hurt with intent, unlike some yans.
-> You're a player in a dead game, a game in which he hated until you arrived. He hates being stuck in the contstrains of it. He's so lonely, he can't witness the stars or feel as you do. His tendancies are fuelled by this despatration to feel.
-> It starts subtle, sweet even. He visits your home regularly, so you don't suspect anything. He stays over once or twice - he can go against his code once or twice. You find that there's no alarm bells, this is your neighborhood's friendly Postman, eager to look after you.
-> But then things begin to change. Suddenly he's coming over earlier. He starts to learn your schedule almost immaculately - it becomes rather creepy when he lets it slip that he's noticed you're going to sleep later than you should... you never told him you had problems falling asleep.
-> When things start to go south, and Smile's influence starts to become evident, his surveillance intensifies. He finds himself increasingly anxious that you'll try something. He has to make his own deliveries, however struggles with leaving you alone. You don't understand, he's only trying to save you. What you're being influenced to do is dangerous!
-> He starts to breach his code. Suddenly, you can't leave at every nightly disturbance. Your door is locked until he comes by every morning, with a package you'll never pick up. They're empty - but he'll start bringing things to you if they make you stay.
-> You mention that you're struggling with disturbances in the night, that you're hearing voices telling you to 'wake up'. He's worried, but he knows already. After your first number, which he'd meticulously 'surveyed', he'd known - and it was immediately obvious that SMILE was trying to take you. Couldn't allow that now, could we?
-> If you choose to push anyway, follow SMILE's orders, push him away, Postman becomes a groveling, desperate mess. He's tried so hard to protect you, the only player in his game, a chance to feel anything outside of monotony, and you're pushing him away. Measures of desperation are never good. He starts with the usual, begging, pleading with you to stay, for yourself. Because he's doing all this for you, that's what he was programmed for.
-> He doesn't want to get violent. Not against you - but his presence becomes increasingly oppressive and dependent. He stays over almost every night, starts ditching work to make sure you're okay, trying desperately for you to stay with him. That's all he's wanted, for you to stay, for your safety, for the game. He never quite words the fact that he's also doing this for selfish reasons. Because he needs you.
-> If you continue to push further, measures become increasingly drastic. You're never alone now - he leaves less and less for work. He'll lock the whole game down if it means you'll stay. He'll tattle (still as guiltily as ever) to the RIS however many times so you don't stray down a path you can't escape from.
-> If you choose to stay, things... get better. He still can't shake off his prominent stalking habit, or his paranoia that SMILE may take hold of you at some point, but he's happier. Happy that you decided to stay with him. He continues to follow the code (at least, until the end of the working day, to which he's more than happy to tackle you into a hug). He really hopes you forget all that drastic, obsessive behaviour. C'mon, bud, that was all for you.
-> Things return to a shaky normal. He still asks every so often if you'd ever consider leaving again. It still nags at the back of his mind that you might try it again. But hey, at least you're here, perhaps not entirely willingly, but you're here. And that's all that matters to him - that you're safe, and that you're here.
"There we are, bud. I just want you to stay."

First yan headcanons on here! I sure hope they're sufficient. I know my blog's really depressing... and will probably continue to be, but I'm feeling pretty good! So have this.
Let me know if you'd like anything more like this, perhaps a drabble, too?
