This was born from a discord discussion.
✨ The past MADS polycule ✨
Personally I’d like to think they all wanted Vegapunk but he was too focused on his science to deal with any of them. And then he left and they just got real bitter; especially Caesar.
“I hate Vegapunk so MUCH. GOD I want him!”
- caeser clown, probably
"We need more morally gray characters"
You couldn't handle a 12 year old girl.
Thinking about how in Fruits Basket they actively discuss how women (especially empathetic or hyper empathetic woman) get parentified by society. And frankly not just women either. We see this mainly with Tohru, Kisa, and Haru but especially Tohru. Like how she was indirectly and UNINTENTIONALLY parentified by her mother's trauma. WHETHER OR NOT HER MOTHER INTENDED FOR IT TO HAPPEN HER MOTHER STILL HADN'T GROWN UP OR RECOVERED FROM HER TRAUMA HERSELF AND SO TOHRU HAD TO FILL IN THOSE GAPS. AND THAT TRANSLATES INTO NEARLY ALL HER RELATIONSHIPS. SHE WAS TAUGHT TO TAKE CARE OF OTHERS ABOVE HERSELF. ITS NOT ACCIDENTAL ITS SOCIETAL. AND THAT ISN'T EVEN THE PROBLEM THE PROBLEM IS THAT THESE PEOPLE END UP CARRYING EVERYONE AROUND THEM EMOTIONALLY AND EVEN HELPING THEM WITH SHIT BUT NO ONE NOTICES THEIR HIDDEN TRAUMA OR PAIN ENOUGH TO HELP THEM IN RETURN. ALWAYS THE HELPER NEVER THE HELPED BUT THAT IS WHAT I LOVE ABOUT KYO AND TOHRU. I'm sorry Kyo above everyone else was the one who told Tohru she didn't have to carry everyone else all of the time. AND TO AN EXTENT HE WAS SIMILARLY PARENTIFIED BY HIS MOTHER TOO BUT THAT'S A DISCUSSION FOR ANOTHER DAY I LOVE FRUITS BASKET I LOVE IT.

Well somebody’s gotta pin the artwork to the wall
This is Johnson, those idiots are fucking in the east wing again.
I’VE ONLY EVER SEEN THIS LEGENDARY POST IN SCREENSHOTS
PERSONALLY I like that the strawhats are preoccupied with their dreams ambitions and sailing the seas w their friends and don’t think romance is narratively necessary, but it’s legitimately so funny how oda was like “the old generation of pirates? biggest fucking sluts you’ve ever seen”
new gen: sex? like right now? kind of busy doing stuff for the next ten years
old gen: *big mom and her 85 kids, scopper getting it on at every port, kozuki oden conceiving and raising two children on pirate ships, roger and his polycule raising a baby*
kidkiller is ultimately the most sickening pairing one piece has to offer . killer ate a smile fruit for kid . he was jailed and forced to and he choked on the awful taste just to have a taste of his captain . he hates the way of his laugh sounds but it doesn’t sound half bad when he’s laughing along with kid . the yearning is absolutely off the charts — kid has massacred whole flights of ships just because they made fun of killer’s laugh . they’re so disgustingly devoted to each other . the yearning is off the charts .
“would you still love me if i was a worm?” is OUT.
“would you still love me if i became a shell of my former self — forced to smile against my will by taking an apple just to have a moment with you as my eden, my captain?” is IN.
the fact that zokiku in any capacity isn’t more popular is a travesty. zoro is fascinated with her!!! she’s cute and good with swords. whether zoro has a little schoolboy crush on her, or he just admires her, or they mutually fancy each other or whatever, I’m so surprised there’s not more people out there exploring their dynamic.
Why are we so accepting of mediocrity in media? Lately, there's been quite a lot of discourse surrounding the latest volume of Stranger Things. Many people absolutely hate it, some have mixed feelings, and some will defend it to their dying breath. I, personally absolutely despise it. Not purely because of the horrible writing decision, but because of what it stands for, and what it might mean for the future of entertainment. Stranger Things started out strong, shit only started hitting the fan when it went mainstream. The difference in the writing in seasons 1-2 and season 3-5 are impossible not to notice. It's very clear that the writers basically watered everything down to make it more palatable, so more people will watch it, and in turn make them more money. But all this is doing is saying a big fuck you to all the fans who loved the concept of Stranger Things and what it used to be before it became mindless entertainment. It's also quite insulting that the writers genuinely think that they have to water all this stuff down so the viewers are able to understand. We don't need to be spoon fed information, subtext exists for a reason, we are not stupid. And I hate to think of what this means for the future of entertainment. Writers have just been getting wayyy to comfortable with underestimating the audience.
Mikasa + caring about others besides Eren
Anytime a mf says "Mikasa only cared about Eren!!" Show them this post. Also, there are a bunch more examples of Mikasa caring for Armin
hating gabi bc you love sasha too much is so weak like my favorite character is bertholdt and you will never ever NEVER catch me hating on armin. skill issue
I'm going to be so damn honest right now. I don't like Huskerdust. Like, at all. I genuinely feel like they'd work so much better as a father son dynamic... Whenever I see them interact I'm just like, oh, yeah, these guys are cute but not in a relationship way. They kind of remind me of El and Hopper in a way, like El is a traumatised kid lacking a father figure, or just any sort of stability really. And Hopper, a grumpy old man who completely let himself go after losing his daughter, and wife basically simultaneously, and he felt like he had no purpose in life. That was until he took in Eleven, he found his daughter in her, and he took care of her best he could, he taught her things, and gave her the stability she always lacked. I really wish Vivziepop took that direction with Husk and Angel. Also, if Vivziepop wanted to make these two love interests, why does Husk constantly call Angel "kid"? Feels kind of weird to me... Also, the line Husk says in episode six when he's leaving the hotel, he says "he's a grown up, he doesn't need me." That sounds like something a parent would say about their child. And there's also the fact that it felt like Husk and Angel had absolutely 0 romantic tension in the first season, and it was just thrown in there in season two because of its popularity within the fandom. Of course, you could argue that Husk and Angel "always had romantic tension because of the sexual comments that Angel made towards Husk in season one." Even though it's literally been established that Angel does this as a coping mechanism and makes those comments towards EVERYONE not Husk exclusively. And Husk was ALWAYS, weirded out whenever Angel made advances towards him. Anyways, the Angel in drag scene was stupid, genuinely had to skip that part.
my friends invited me to see the chainsaw man movie in theaters with them and I had to politely decline because I will need to see that movie in private so I wont bother the public with my doomed yaoi yearning
I'm just lucky I saw it with people who were geeking over the doomed yaoi yearning as much as me.
People headcanoning every single autistic coded and/or scientist and/or "cold/serious" character as aroace is harmful to all of these communities. Autistic people are often seen as "cold", "rude", "weird", "uninterested in romance" or like they can't understand romance which is obviously not true. Guess which group of people is also seen as all of these? Aroace people, yes. Quick reminder: autistic people arent "too weird to get romance" and can date, scientists arent weird kids that ONLY think about science and can't like anything else, "cold/serious" people CAN date too and aroace people arent cold or rude or weird. You dont need to be a specific type of person to be into romance and romance doesn't have to be the center of ur life for u to want it. Also it's not because a character shows no attraction to women that he has no attraction for ANYONE. (this is not a one time thing, it's a pattern in animanga characters) Disclaimers because i dont want anyone to get me wrong: I love aroace hcs, i love hcs that dont make sense to 10 billion percent, im not an expert or especially smart so i dont always word things right, pls tell me if smth i said is harmful or wrong
It is actually such a damaging stereotype, it pisses me off so much whenever I see shit like that.
