autism things: lonely kid edition
- befriending an object and becoming horribly distraught for days when you lose it
- putting all of your toys in rows and just looking at them instead of playing with them the “right” way
- constant echolalia because there was never anyone around to tell you off for it (until you were at school)
- staring at the wall/ceiling for hours and daydreaming until you forgot who you are

these boys have been giving me fake love notes and doing all these weird, bullyish things that seem like jokes for YEARS and I just told my mom and apparently she knows one of their moms and she texted them VERY ANGRILY and told the mom that I am autistic. not sure how this is gonna play out but in case this is my last day on god’s earth I love all of you
yeah “gifted kids” had it rough but please no more sob story posts abt that bc i PROMISE that the kids labelled “dumb” by the system and shoved to the side n not given half the attention that ur gifted ass was got the short end of the stick. its so much more tragic to think of all the wasted potential of children who maybe were too loud or rowdy or didnt test well than “gifted kid burnout uwu”. like yeah it fucking sucks! i was a “gifted kid” too and it fucked up my self esteem for a long time but i was given opportunities and attention in school, something not afforded to other students for arbitrary reasons. the american school system just fucking sucks but i promise u as a star student who got stressed u did not get the worst of it

my whole life, people have told me that i am smart. but i was denied from the gifted program because I was “slow”, yet, somehow, my siblings got in. it was the autism. it made me too different to pass the fairly biased tests into a program that i honestly NEEDED to be in.
then, in middle school, i took another gifted test when I moved to florida. again, I was slow, but you know what the gifted parents told us? to pay 1,000 to a psychologist to diagnose us as gifted. I’M NOT KIDDING. there’s a reason that all gifted programs have such rich kids in them. it isn’t because they deserve it. it’s because they paid for it.
in short, the gifted program is a bunch of ableist, classist nonsense and “gifted people” are not superior.
first day of school mood is CREATING that one empty lunch table because nobody sits next to you and then sitting there. alone. in the crushing loneliness of knowing that nobody in a room full of 800 of your peers wants to sit with you. but, you know! SCHOOL!!!

Hurricane Florence
My boyfriend and I are fleeing Hurricane Florence with my service dog (I am a Type One Diabetic) and all of our possessions packed into one car and we need some extra money because not only will both of us be out of work for up two weeks or longer because of this, but our landlord pulled the very last bit of our money from our account for rent. We have enough for our cheap hotel until Saturday (September 15th) but we have next to nothing left for gas to return home, get food, or pay for necessities when and if we can return! Any funds raised will be used for food (and not extravagant eating, I mean bread, peanut butter, and water considering all of it was sold out before we could get any of it), gas, and a place for us to stay during this event. Even $5 would be enough to help us at least get a loaf of bread to survive on.

The majority being discriminated against are called Uyghurs. Khazaks, Uzbeks, and Tajiks are also being ostracized. They are Turkic minorities. They are people. And the world is unaware.
There is an estimated one million people in these so called “re-education camps”. Uyghur people are being forced to assimilate into Chinese culture through marriage. Uyghur children are forced to learn Mandarin and Uyghurqi, the language, is prohibited to be taught in schools. There is a lot of Uyghur unemployment due to ethnic discrimination. Uyghur people are routinely, unjustly imprisoned, and many die. An elderly Uyghur poet was imprisoned. An Uyghur couple my family knows was beaten, and the wife suffered a miscarriage. These are just a few examples of discrimination.
Rebiya Kadeer is fighting for our voices to be heard. She is one of many who was unjustly imprisoned, due to her political activism. She was put on death row and was told to keep quiet or her family would be killed. More than 30 of her relatives have been unjustly detained in the concentration camps. Read her book (Dragon Fighter).
My culture is forcefully being erased. My people are dying. Who is listening? Who can help us?
This is ethnic cleansing.
This is the coming of the second Holocaust. I know that that word cannot be used lightly, which is why I am using it. I hope you all understand the severity of the situation.
Please spread the word. Be aware of this. Tell your friends, your family, anyone who will listen.

ways to make a jew feel safe and comfortable:
-let them celebrate their holidays openly around you and encourage them to express themselves religiously. if they invite you over for a holiday, go!! they’re making an effort to let you learn more about them.
-consider any different diets they might be on (ex. kosher or even if it’s passover) when you have them over at your house. a little goes a long way with this one
-if christmas is around חנוכה that year, feel free to send them a חנוכה card!! it’s not really as big of a holiday for us but we do appreciate the effort put into making us feel included :)
-educate any of your friends that might make antisemitic jokes. even ‘grammar nazi’ jokes. standing up for jewish people goes further than when theyre just around. antisemitism isnt something that only exists when a jew is in the room.
-understand that, if they practice judaism, their beliefs arent like yours, and that that’s ok! a lot of people forget that not everyone is either a christian or an atheist whenever the topic of religion comes up. (but also remember not every jew practices or believes in judaism!!)
-if they tell you to warn them before you talk about nazis, do it. It’s really easy just to give someone a heads up before you talk about people who want them dead, especially if they’re openly jewish or a holocaust survivor descendent.

hey by ‘if you are a goy reblog if you can’ i meant ‘i highly encourage you to reblog this because i have seen too many posts that make me and other jewish people very uncomfortable and they are, to be honest, entirely surface level and exhausting to see over and over again. not only that, but they are also annoying to us because they dont make us feel safe at all, and reblogging posts about how bad nazis are isnt actual activism or showing real, substantial support for jews. if youre serious about being there for your jewish siblings actually take part in their lives. make sure they’re comfortable. make sure you make casual antisemitists uncomfortable. dont just reblog posts about hating nazis, your posts dont do shit. supporting your jewish friends by even doing something as simple as what i listed above does have an affect of us. your posts about you hating nazis mean absolutely nothing unless you care for and acknowledge Actual Jewish People’s problems and challenges. otherwise, they’re surface level bullshit and do not contribute whatsoever to improve our safety.’ :) :) :)
