The thing is, there is no "silly" reason to keep living. When it comes to not killing yourself saying "I know it's goofy but-" is not a thing. If you're still here to see the next installment in a movie franchise, or to get more pets, or to write more fanfiction, it's all great. Whatever keeps you living
I made this in reference to comic/game stuff but I’m glad to see this one’s going over well with all the writers
Reblog to give your followers and mutuals the strength to continue
You don't like my domestic au? But I lobotomized the characters just for you :( isn't it so nice now that everyone's happy? They all talk and forgive each other 😊 they're getting married, you know. They're pregnant, you know. Time skip soon! Two beautiful kids. After they have them they will put aside all their passions. Maybe they will never go back to the coffee shop 🤭or university 😜. Maybe they will stay at home with their children. I made this world just for you. Isn't it domestic? Isn't it perfect? Look at how everyone smiles! I am smiling :) are you?
literal days before my exams start and im suddenly having this mad insane rush of motivation to write again. What the hell!!!!!!!!!!
I keep saying “separating men and women’s spaces is anti-feminist at its root and all competitions, bathrooms, etc., should be mixed-gender” and people keep saying “trans people should be allowed in their respective gendered spaces.” Which I agree with, but is only a step on the path, and I take issue with people treating it like an end goal. In fact, we COULD eliminate that step entirely by simply having mixed gender spaces.
I remember the fight for mixed gender sports, but now we’re fighting for trans people’s rights to be included in gendered sports. The only justification for gendered sports that exists is Those Men Will Crush Our Weak Little Women. It’s sexist. Segregation is always a means of oppression.
I’m not a fan of that goalpost shift, and I’m not sure why it’s so popular as of late.
Humans of all the great apes are remarkably sexually non-dimorphic. The (mean) difference between men and women tends to be ~15%. For reference, other apes like gorillas, orangutans, tend to have about 50% dimorphism. 15% is comparable level of dimorphism to dogs and horses.
Both of which, if youll note, are species that we race in non-sexgender-segregated sports. There's not one derby for boy horses and another one for girl ones.
The majority of the dimorphism that we *see* is social and cultural. Women are discouraged from sports from a much earlier age than men. Women who are naturally tall and muscular may choose not to pursue body building because of social pressures for women to be small and dainty. Women who have broad shoulders, double jointed ankles and webbed toes (the things that make Michael Phelps such a good swimmer) may never touch a swimming pool in their life because of similar stigma surrounding women's bodies that men are not subject to.
Instead of looking to abolish the conditions that create these sexgender differences, trans-exclusionists attempt to reinforce the binary by asserting that women are naturally weak and there is no possible way to overcome this difference except by segregation. Ask yourself: who benefits from that train of thought?
This has been a PSA.
I’m trying not to reblog posts on this blog but I feel that this is important to post here.
on a related note:
And for the people asking “Well if you don’t support it irl then why would you like it in fiction?!” Because when it’s happening irl real people are suffering and dying and that’s horrible and I’d never want that. But when it’s fiction, when no real people are being hurt or killed, it’s interesting to explore the experience, the effects it may have, and to an extent experience the emotions involved without actually having to experience the horrible thing. You explore scary, dangerous things from a safe distance.
Because it’s how stories work.
Because it’s how stories work.
because it’s how stories work.
Personally something that has improved my mental health and relationship with my art a bit.
Hi. Listen. Listen. Okay. If you're black. If you're indigenous. If you're an ethnic minority. If you're not American or English speaking (natively). If you're biracial. If you're an immigrant. If you want more representation or feel frustrated with what's already out there. If you never see your people depicted. Or if it's always racist. Okay listen to me this is important. Make your ocs extremely unabashedly like you. Take so much inspiration from your culture and lived experiences. This is important I've been tooting this a hundred times but I promise I guarantee you will feel good about it please do it for yourself and your culture and channel it into your art and show it so much love I'm so serious please make your ocs your nationality please do draw your blorbos as your nationality do it do it do it you will love it and you will love yourself more. Kisses your forehead
Obviously the best thing would be to have genuinely good diverse rep out there but this has no joke made me feel so much better about myself amongst this fucking ocean of America centrism
being black in any art community is such a strange feeling cause you’ll see just blatant racism being expressed in others art and you have to just casually ignore it, for your sake if anything, colorism being something that’s just fundamentally there in every artist and you deal with it cause it’s not worth it in the end to even think of it too hard let alone even mentioning it, it’s definitely something
Hello nonblack reader of this post, I think you ought to share this one so that you and your peers can actively remind yourselves 1) of how your Black peers feel when you tolerate antiblack racism in your art spaces for entertainment and 2) that we notice it, but don't believe it is secure around enough of you to bring it up 🙏🏾
hey siri how 2 justify writing novelette length erotica of your ocs, instead of working on your novel that is so neglected it's basically a skinless corpse rotting away in a dumpster in back
turns out the justification is actually. "it's okay to work on things that make you happy instead of continuing to burn out on something that actively stresses you out. Not everything you create has to be high art or even good as long as you find satisfaction in the process. And something not being good doesn't make it any less entertaining or even less valuable. Now that ive actually set my foot down and wrote a thousand words, and felt satisfied with it and the process of creating, i feel more motivated to actually start work on my novel again"
3 components of worldbuilding:
1. The author’s kinks
2. The author’s power fantasy
3. The author’s political agenda
Plot and logic optional
4. The author's formative trauma(s), unrecognized until after they hit post and then reread it for typos, only to blink in shock and say, "Oh. Oh. Oh fuck."
5. The author's personal grievances with other works in the same genre. (May relate to #3 but not always)
6. The author's favourite bit of historical, cultural or scientific trivia or other academic obsession that they only stop talking about to eat and maybe breathe in if they can't get circular breathing down
writing fanfic for your ocs is so funny like This isnt exactly canon but this isnt not canon either. Nebulous grey area where anything can happen
i WILL get TESTOSTERONE... i WILL get TOP SURGERY... i WILL get BOTTOM SURGERY... i WILL grow a BEARD... i WILL get HAIRY... i WILL PASS... i WILL gain WEIGHT... i WILL change my NAME... i WILL buy CLOTHES from the man's section... i WILL go to the man's RESTROOM... my partner WILL call me their BOYFRIEND... my kids WILL call me their DAD... i WILL grow OLD and HAPPY... i WILL- ... i WILL- ... i-...

Seeing a bunch of writing posts lately like “it’s okay if you only wrote a couple hundred words today :))”
As someone with a full time job, diverse hobbies, and a commitment to proper rest/self care, I would amend that. It’s okay if you don’t write anything at all on MOST DAYS OF YOUR LIFE. You’re still a writer if you’re passionate about creating stories and putting words on paper when time allows. Life is busy and full of possibility, and that’s beautiful, actually. Kill the hypercapitalist productivity demon in your head.
