“Vergilius Nimbus Sanders!”

Virgil froze. Full name was never a good thing.

Sure enough, Janus came hobbling over, holding a pair of Virgil’s sneakers.

“How many times must I trip over your shoes before you stop leaving them sitting out?” He asked.

Virgil pulled his hood up, trying to hide in his hoodie. He could feel everyone else staring at them both, and he did feel guilty for making Janus trip again.

“I’m sorry, Mom,” he said softly. “I’ll remember next time.”

Janus sighed and pat Virgil’s head.

“I don’t mean to yell at you. It just frustrates me that I’m constantly tripping over your things. I know you do it as a way to relax and mark your territory, but please be more mindful and don’t leave things where anyone could trip over them. Ok?”

Virgil nodded silently, and Janus pressed a kiss on top of Virgil’s head.

“Thank you, my little storm. I’m going to go put these shoes in your room.” Janus then walked off, and there was silence as he walked up the stairs.

“Vergilius?” Roman snorted, pressing a hand to his mouth to stifle his laughter.

“Roman, be nice!” Patton scolded. “I think it sounds like a great name.”

“It does have a certain.. historical elegance,” Logan agreed.

Virgil groaned softly to himself as he sunk deeper into the couch he was sitting on.

I love flawed characters. Which is exactly why I love Sanders Sides. Of course I love the good things too- who doesn't? But there's so much controversy with if sides are abusive, if some sides are bad and some are good, if we shouldn't like some of these boys. And honestly- I love them all for being how they are. Imperfect, flawed, raw, realistic, amazing characters that make up Thomas. They are exactly and truly what they're meant to be. Not villains, not heros, parts of Thomas that do their jobs and are real. I love them all 💙💙❤💜💛💚
