I’m back! (maybe)

Hi there! I’ve been gone for a long time on Tumblr but have been lurking around on Flight Rising, slowly but surely working on my lore. New dragon species: Leviathan (just kidding, it’s fake)

Something I did for fun rather quickly, I don’t do line and cell shaded art often. There aren’t any water based dragons on FR so I thought I would attempt one. I have some things I would change and polish in the design but the idea is there.

Eurielle took the lantern in her left hand and held it close to her mouth. With a whisper, she sang a sad song, and with that, the lantern lit. She outstretched her hand, offering the lantern to the wind. It flew. As Eurielle watched the lantern take off, she looked down below at the beach, where slowly, the water lit with speckles of light. She saw her family walk along the beach, lighting lanterns, singing their own sad songs. Watching the wind take their lanterns, too. The sky was littered with light, and Eurielle watched as her own lantern was lost among the masses. Eurielle sighed slowly, closing her eyes again. Her heart ached. She looked to her side as the girl before whispered her own song and let the wind take her glowing lantern. The girl watched her lantern join the others, and a relieving set of tears rolled down the girl’s face. Eurielle’s gaze softened. “Thank you, Euthalia,” Eurielle said. The girl didn’t turn her gaze from her lantern, but nodded. Eurielle turned and walked away from the lanterns, from Euthalia, from the hundreds of others on the beach below. This is Miresa. I’m at the academy, which means I’m bored as sin 70% of the time. I have class until 4:30 but otherwise I’m at the barracks on my own time.

I saw a few people doing these and I’m ready to jump the bandwagon! So comment/reblog here with your Id# and un and I’ll rate one of your dragons! Just one. I’ll go to 3-6 lairs at a time and rate one dragon.

I’ll try to tag everyone too. Hoping to get as many of these done as I can.

All about Naomi: For those who have no idea what’s going on.

Naomi is a user who has taken over the Couriers of Flight Rising in what appears to be a glitch.

 But that’s not all she is. If you search for her in user search (she’s in Shadow flight to narrow it down) you’ll see she has over 15 million dragons, and the number is growing fast. 

Also, search for exalted dragons in dragon search, every single one of them will say they are a part of Naomi’s clan. 

Naomi is user 0. Her account doesn’t exist and neither does her profile dragon. Clicking on it will bring you to a 404 page. But Naomi isn’t just an account created to hold exalted dragons. She can’t be. Because of Willow. 

Willow is one of Naomi’s children with Coal, another exalted dragon. You can view Coal’s exalted page, but clicking on Naomi will bring you back to the 404. Willow is the only child of Naomi that is not exalted. Coal is dragon 25343. If you bring that back a number, to dragon 25342, you get a 404. Run that number in the scrying workshop and you’ll see Naomi. 

Willow is our proof that Naomi isn’t a storage account. She was someone, and Naomi and Coal are probably her progens. She bred her dragons and sold one of them. She even changed flights at some point, seeing as Naomi and Coal are Arcane and she is currently listed as Shadow. Which means 1 of 3 things. 1: Staff stole an inactive account and used it to store all exalted dragons and it’s somehow become unhidden, simultaneously taking over the account that handle the couriers. 2. This is the work of a hacker. 3. Someone is very upset at being exalted.

UPDATE: It appears Naomi has gone. Appears. The account has actually just been changed to Flight Rising and the profile dragon removed. Still in Shadow flight though. 

However, the fact remains that clicking on Willow’s mom leads you to a 404 page. Which means Naomi is still out there. Somewhere.

Final update. It appears Naomi is finally gone. After the rollover the account has disappeared, all the exalted dragons have the right labels, everything is back to normal. Except for one thing.

Naomi’s dragon profile is still a 404.

She’s still out there.

OK FINAL UPDATE FOR REAL THIS TIME FOLKS: Looks like we have some confirmation that Naomi was a real account and a real dragon that was destroyed by this glitch. 

This photo was released by a friend of the account’s owner. The real Naomi has since made a tumblr account, which can be found here. Luckily she was inactive on Flight Rising, but the glitch caused her account to vanish. Despite the fact that she no longer plays and the account doesn’t exist anymore talking about it counts as ‘calling out another user’ which is against the CoC. Which is why all threads and comments talking about Naomi have been effectively purged.

So we have our mystery solved. But there’s still the fact that Naomi is still in the search results for active dragons…

and she shows no signs of returning to her pedestal any time soon…

SHIT BOY SHIT I LIED: Naomi’s account is back! 

The fabled Mistress of the Exalted even shows up properly in the dragon search now.

Also it looks like the Naomi blog is a fake until proven otherwise. I will edit this post if this turns out to not be true, but at this point I doubt it, seeing as the friend of Naomi who posted the screenshot has deleted their account.

And thus officially ends the Naomi saga. She has returned to her lair and all is right with the world. Thank you for putting up with this post’s truly ridiculous length, and I hope you enjoyed the ride.

Things I Wish I Had Known As A Newbie

1.) You can reply to a topic with “0″ to bump it without posting a message.

2.) When listing dragons on the Auction House for the same price, you can hit an invisible “x” on the dialogue box after posting. This will allow you to click the next dragon with all of the information still filled out. 

3.) Fairgrounds is not a reliable source of income, you’d make more by exalting and grinding. Good for relaxing though!

4.) When buying in bulk or in general, use the sorting feature to list prices by lowest unit price. Always sell based on those prices as well if you want it gone fast.

5.) When fodder prices are particularly high, use the filter features to check for bonuses. You might find some bonus dragons that are buried in the lowest prices and would profit more by training them than picking off the current lowest dragon. Also gets you extra tickets for raffles!

6.) If a preview of a post or selecting an item to send someone via CR or PM bugs out and you get an empty white box, check for the invisible x in the top right of it. This x is your friend and I don’t know why FR makes it invisible.

7.) That is not an adult imperial you fucking idiot stop trying to bring it into the coli.
