Heartstopper S1, S2, S3 + Heartstopper Forever
When medicine is holding the migraine back but you can still kinda feel it in the distance waiting to return
Okay, so. Yesterday, my spouse's cat (my beloved, furry stepdaughter) was suddenly very sick. Spouse had the car on the opposite end of the state for work, so I walked down the road to the local vet. Unfortunately, she needed to be rushed to the emergency vet in the next town over, so I had to order an Uber and cross my fingers.
Enter Donald, a gay Puerto Rican man who rolls up in an electric Kia with a rainbow Zelda shirt. I know he is Puerto Rican because that is the theme of his car's decor. He's probably in his late forties. He's gushing over the cat but his demeanor changes when I tell him how sick she is and how I need to get her to the ER. He solemnly informs me, "I'll take care of it," and RIPS out of the parking lot of my building.
Dude is flooring it. The entire time he is sending his husband text-to-speech messages about, "Going to the vet, do you want me to go in and talk to them?" He informs me that he actually needed to go speak to the vet at this clinic anyway--his dog who he just had to put down yesterday went there for renal failure treatments--and that "fate brought us together." He tells the cat to hang in there, that, "Girl, I will take care of you."
He turns on his emergency blinkers. He's weaving through traffic like he used to professionally race. Any gap he sees, he takes it. It is terrifying but I am in awe.
We get to blocked traffic because it is rush hour. He asks me if I trust him. I tell him, "I guess I have to in this situation," and he nods and swings into the shoulder, guns it, whips around the traffic, and takes off on a side road. The GPS means nothing to him. He knows exactly where he's going and he is beating the traffic jams for the sake of the cat. She can't wait.
When we pull into the vet clinic, he goes in with me. As my cat is taken in, he asks me if I want to see pictures of his late dog. He shows me a picture of a chihuahua in a bow tie and it is the cutest fucking dog I've ever seen. He tells me how his husband is a dog trainer and the dog had been around the world, and that this vet is a good one and my cat will be fine.
I compliment his shirt and he nods like Arnold at the end of Terminator 2. Then he just marches out the door.
Anyway. The cat is staying overnight at the emergency vet but seems to be doing fine aside from not wanting to eat. Apparently, this is a $2.5k case of "your cat has a cold and is constipated, and what you thought was respiratory distress was her gagging on snot while nauseous." We pick her up sometime today.
Wherever you are, thank you, Donald. My spouse left you a tip higher than the cost of the trip because you are awesome and your dedication to our cat was inspiring. 10/10, I would endanger myself on the road with you again.
Young Washington is GENUINELY the worst movie I’ve ever seen how about we focus all of our hate on it instead of Supergirl

"focaccia, serves 4" yes all 4 me
"tiramisu, serves 2" yes all 2 myself
Pizza, serves 8, yes I 8 it all.
So from what I understand this is basically the Iron Lung, Project Hail Mary, Obsession, and Backrooms movies
If she was in charge of the backrooms research team then there would be no fucking about. She would already have the answers, none of this ‘I don’t know’ business. Ryland Grace would be hazmat suited up and sent in there ASAP.
people who've seen good omens finale. we can't talk here. email me on jeremy renner app

Happy 2 years of @73647e sending me P E N I S P E N I S in my ask box!!!!
Still thinking about how Grace was always treated as disposable. Kicked out of his passion field for his honesty—underpaid as a (very good) teacher, to the point he can’t afford a car—left alone in a room full of argon with a sample that might kill him, while all the indispensable guys who put him there stood on the other side of the glass and watched. Shoved screaming into a mission that would kill him. And then, then this bonkers little alien who just met him gladly trades years off his life (via extended return mission) to save him. Runs burning through deadly air to keep him from dying. Chooses finally to weave their lives together forever and recreate Grace’s best dreams of Earth to make him happy. No wonder Grace told Rocky he doesn’t have to get him a gift, he’s given him everything. To one little spider guy, Grace is irreplaceable. That’s love.
You work with Markiplier and he is a great motivator
not to start drama or call anyone out in specific, but the current popularity of certain non-disclosed AI-generated fics in the dps fandom is deeply concerning me. may i ask a question of anyone in this fandom particularly who uses chatgpt/etc. to write their fics, and fails to tag it as such:
did you watch the fucking movie?
is the importance of thinking for yourself not one of the main takeaways from dead poets society? this includes writing fanfiction and creating art more broadly. being a fic writer of almost 4 years, i abhor the use of ai in any fandom; but in the dps fandom, it's almost worse because of the hypocrisy. how can you claim to be a fan of a movie which emphasizes the necessity of human creativity ("poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for"), and then turn around and use Plagiarism Robot 3000 in place of the artistic process? not only that, but to also fail to disclose that your "art" was made by a robot??? what would keating think, with his admiration for human-made literature? what about neil the thespian? todd the budding poet?
in my eyes, when you use ai to write fanfiction, you have reached the pinnacle of impatience. to be a fic writer is completely voluntary. it is not mandated upon every single person who wishes to join a fandom. if you dislike writing, or you consider yourself a bad writer, and you have no desire to try or improve... you can simply not write fanfiction. you can instead read and recommend the works of writers you admire. spend enough time in a fandom, some of these writers may become your friends! they may offer you advice, and you might be inspired to create fanworks with your own brain!
but instead of figuring out what the creative process looks like for you, mistakes and all, as every writer in the world has done, you decide that feeding your ego immediately is more important. all those kudos and comments -- would they have been left had the readers known the words on their screen were plagiarized? what about the dozens of fics written by hand that never got so much as a quarter of the love given to those written by a robot? isn't that completely unjust?
keep these questions in your mind the next time you decide to open chatgpt. make better choices, and at the very bare minimum, tag your fucking shit correctly. please. i beg of you
i also find that writing using ai is perfunctory and unnecessary. no one wants to read ai writing unconventionally, especially if they are writers in their own right. good point gail.
mmhm! to me it seems to do a bad job of characterization, specifically in fanfics. not much fun to read
