‘Don’t drive tired’ the electronic sign says above you, and for a split second you forget what tiredness feels like
You overtake the same lorry five times. The lorry never undertakes you.
The Tebay Service Station is an oasis. The food tastes better than anything you’ve ever tasted. You don’t want to leave when the time comes. You don’t want to leave.
You drive past a patchwork of old mills and working farms. You wonder about the people there, their days still whilst you race down the country. They don’t give you a passing thought.
You’re listening to Radio 2. You don’t remember putting Radio 2 on. You’re invested in the Pop Quiz. You can hear Ken Bruce’s smile when you blink. They’re playing Kylie.
The junction for Blackpool disappears. It takes three days for anyone to notice.
The sky darkens. You don’t remember the rain starting. The lorry next to you sprays from its wheels as you try to move past it. You don’t remember when the rain got heavy. There are break lights in the distance.
Ezri eventually dies, as most people do
The Dax symbiont is passed to the next host
Dax pays a visit to their old friend, the renowned author, Jake Sisko
"Dax, what are you doing here?"
"the last host of mine to not know your father was Joran. And, well, no one wants a repeat of that. I think Siskos may be my good luck charm"
we cut to a montage wherein the first thing Dax does in every lifetime once left to their own devices is to go find Benjamin's closest living descendent. Sometimes they become friends. Sometimes, best friends. Once, they even married, but that's a story for another time. Sometimes, they have a dinner, check in, then go their separate ways.
But as long as every Dax has a Sisko, nothing like Joran ever happens again.
And every Sisko knows, once in a generation, right when they need it the most, to expect a knock at the door. Every Sisko knows to look forward to their next visit from an old friend, from The Old Man.
you know that, post-coming out, compilations start popping up online from years of nhl mic'd up promos that nobody ever thought twice about before that mostly consist of shane saying "microphone" when ilya skates up to him.
I personally believe that David Hollander left the cottage the way he did because he was like, "Oh no! I just caught my son being gay with his biggest rival! Better leave now before I ruin his silent retreat too!" And he was at least halfway back home before he went, "Wait."
“i can’t stop thinking about that sad autistic bottom and his even sadder russian soft dom”
I just want to remind you that sometimes your life really doesn't begin until you are 26+... Romanticizing and obsessing over our youth is harmful. Growing up is beautiful. Discovering who you are and how you interact with the world is a gift. Maturing and learning what you truly want out of life and living in that purpose brings fulfillment and peace. Your life is not over in your early 20's because you haven't figured it out yet, it's just beginning.
I am very very excited for my 30’s, and very glad I spent my 20’s (my early 20’s in particular) aware of just how very young I was. I turn 30 next month, and my friends in their 40’s assure me I am still young. Which is great!
I also feel like your early 20’s are like being a toddler for adulthood. You’ve got a fair few skills, though few are truly honed, and there’s an overwhelming amount of new experiences.
I look back at 22 year old me and all the things I had and hadn’t figured out (mostly hadn’t), and I am so glad that there’s so much life and learning and growth that comes after that point!
Yo I’m reading back through my own blog like a curious person at the ripe young age of almost 32 and. Damn me two years ago was so right about this
Moment of appreciation for my boy Shane Hollander, who stayed up trying to think of ways for he and Ilya to have a future together, to mere days (hours? Did time really pass at The Cottage) to become the human version of a buffering wheel when Ilya says he’s his boyfriend
and what if I told you nine was less afraid of love than ten. what then.
for a moment i lived in a beautiful world where doctor who didn’t exist and this was simply a seven-ate-nine joke too layered for me to understand
the face and the boob window just make it funnier
[screencaps of odo saying“I’m always suspicious of people who are eager to help a police officer”]
local cop says acab
That’s very Odo of him ❤️
So I was writing a small paper in Microsoft Word and the program suddenly crashed (I saved a couple minutes before, thank god) and I get this message in the corner of my screen two seconds afterward
what the fuck
#a whole new level of procrastination where your paper itself is procrastinating
When not only you’re done with the paper, but the paper is done with you.
eveeyones got it wrong your mid 20s arent for going to the club or partying or picking up new crafts. your 20s are for discovering how much more autistic you are than you thought you were in high school
As someone who suffers from chronic pain, I really identify with Gale. That's something a lot of people seem to gloss over. He's in PAIN but they don't care. Or maybe they don't even notice. I tried to explain that to my friend but she told me he's just being dramatic and annoying...
Show this to your friend.
Gale's pain is glaringly difficult for him to handle. I'd also make the same argument for Karlach and Shadowheart. All three of them clearly suffer from chronic pain. Just because we don't see it 24/7, that doesn't mean it isn't there.
Astarion is also constantly hungry, and that's a painful state to be in. He deals with brain fog until he finally gets proper nutrition, which is difficult to obtain, and one of the reasons he embraces the tadpole is that it protects him from sun sensitivity.
He even calls it a condition.
Pretty much everyone is disabled in some way, and that's so important to me.
I don't know if Wyll has chronic pain, but he has scarring and one eyeball. Scarring changes the way your skin moves and it can hurt. He also has nightmares and doesn't sleep well, and when he's turned into a demon he finds that hard to deal with.
I think it's relatable to wake up to something new on your body that causes you discomfort. He can't enjoy food the same way either.
I just really love this game.
