The Chaotic Mellark's Family Vacation
Chapter 5 Summary: It's the morning of the twins' birthday, and not only do Katniss and Peeta have to worry about their million kids, but they have to worry about squabbling Hawthorn siblings.
The morning of the Twin's birthday was breezy and beautiful.
Katniss woke up craving coffee again. To be fair, she and Peeta didn't get much sleep. The man was a living, breathing snack who smelled of dill and cinnamon. There were times Katniss couldn't help herself.
She turned her head and saw a to-go cup filled with coffee. The scent of coffee made her mouth water. Peeta always took care of her.
After getting ready, Katniss sipped her coffee, savoring its bitter-sweet taste. Peeta always sweetened her coffee with caramel and steamed creamy milk.
Katniss padded to the twins' room. It was still pretty early, and no one had checked up on them. Peeta was in the kitchen prepping the pizza that the twins asked for, as well as prepping the barbecue that would be grilled. Haymitch was Peeta's helper. Meadow and Ryley were already awake and were going to help Finn and Annie with blowing up the balloons. The only one unaccounted for was Johanna.
Opening the door, Katniss found Johanna sitting with Hunter and Diana. She had Diana in her lap and was combing her blond curly hair.
Katniss always wanted Diana to have long hair, but Diana fussed whenever her hair needed to be combed. So it was a unanimous vote that her hair be kept short. The most Katniss could do was comb Diana's hair during bathtime.
She was surprised to find Johanna putting a bow in Diana's hair. Both twins were dressed. Diana was wearing a tutu, a sparkly top, and her beloved crocks. Hunter was wearing jeans, a button shirt, a sparkly bowtie, and sneakers.
"Sistur, is our bird-day?" Hunter said, looking up at Diana with those baby blue eyes. He held Ryley's duck plushy in his arms.
"Brothur, is our bird-day," Diana squeaked, clapping her hands delightedly.
