Sysmeds spreading more bigoted disinformation!
Ooh! I have a better explanation!
But something tells me that you won't appreciate it, @radnormal! 😜
Now, @bomb-legalizer, this should be your first lesson to not trust medical information from uneducated children on the internet who got all of their psychology knowledge from TikTok.
The one thing Radnormal is correct on is that endogenic systems are plural for reasons other than trauma. And most do not have a disorder, nor do they claim to. Plurality for us is often even a healthy experience.
The term "endogenic" is mostly a community term. Although there were writings about the possibility of "nonpathological endogenous forms of dissociative identity disorder" by Richard Kluft in 2001. (I have a screenshot of that here.) Most academic papers will use a variety of synonyms for endogenic plurality when discussing it.
For example, the World Health Organization's ICD-11, their global medical handbook, refers to alters/dissociative identities as "distinct personality states."
This same book makes it clear that you can experience multiple "distinct personality states" without the presence of a mental disorder.
And it's extremely hard to get more medically recognized than having an entire section in the World Health Organization's ICD-11 explicitly saying that you can be plural without a mental disorder.
Nonpathological plurality isn't being recognized as a disorder, because it isn't one. But it is recognized as something to distinguish disorders from.
Even more explicitly, there is an entire Plurality chapter in Transgender Mental Health which was written by Dr. Eric Yarbrough, an esteemed psychiatrist who holds the title of Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, the highest honor the American Psychiatric Association gives. And the book itself was peer reviewed and published by the American Psychiatric Association, the organization that publishes the DSM.
Here are some excerpts from that:
These are but a few academic sources of many affirming you can be plural without trauma. Without a mental disorder.
While teaching you about new words, another one you might want to learn is sysmed.
A sysmed is someone who inaccurately believes that you need to have trauma or have a disorder to be a plural system. The word is derived from "transmed," which refers to a group who believe being transgender is a mental illness, and that it's impossible to be transgender without gender dysphoria. The comparison was made by transgender endogenic and pro-endo systems who recognized the near-identical rhetoric from both groups.
Sysmeds have a long history of bullying not just endogenic systems, but any systems who don't agree with them. A popular artist named Aimkid was bullied off of Twitter by sysmeds a few years ago after coming out as a traumagenic DID system because they supported endogenic systems.
Sysmeds continue carrying the torch for transmeds, repeating their same talking points, using their same bullying tactics against what they see as more acceptable targets, and outright lying about what medical professionals and researchers believe.
