General Ranch Family Headcanons! Marnie, Jas and Shane

Expect mostly fluff and some angst because im pretty sure Jas is the most mature and healthy person in that damn house.

(psst. look at that funny little border I made ;) ain't I fancy?)

- marnie is shane's aunt on his father's side. Jas isn't biologically related to marnie or shane but since shane is her godfather and adoptive father, that makes marnie her adoptive great aunt but marnie doesn't like feeling THAT old so jas just calls her aunt marnie :)

- marnie actually inherited her ranch from her own aunt and uncle when she was only in her early 20s, which was also around the time shane was born

- shane is a trans dude! he realised this very young but only came out in his teen years. he couldn't start t until after Jas was born tho.

- Jas loves horror movies, much to the annoyance of Shane (thinks they're boring) and Marnie (scare sensitive). her favourite movie is Friday the 13th but her favourite slasher is bubba sawyer. neither of the them are forgiving penny for buying her those stephen king books.

- also this girl is autistic, thankfully both of the adults raising her are neurodivergent.

- they take turns reading bed time stories to the animals every night. Jas reads stories from an old fairy tale book she has, Shane reads sci-fi and Marnie reads romance novels.

- neither jas nor shane like lewis and how he treats marnie, and can see it's taking a toll on her self-confidence but neither feels they can bring it up: shane because of his drinking problem making him feel like a hypocrite and jas because well.. she's just a child who doesn't feel like she knows better. Both of them are very cold towards lewis though

- jas is very self-sufficient, she learned to move through the chaos her family sows quickly and between everything happening around her, she learned to take care of herself. It's one of the reasons penny keeps a closer eye on her.

- shane is constantly worried him and jas will end up having as terrible a relationship as penny and pam because of his drinking. marnie worries the same thing but refuses to say out loud.

- Shane doesn't like Vincent, he's loud and annoying and is quick to say things he shouldn't like pointing out Shane smells like beer and that he looks hungover. Leo is okay though, if anything because he keeps to himself.

- shane is a bisexual disaster. marnie also bisexual disaster but has been deep in denial for ages.

- shane is sebastian's uncle on his father's side. just gonna drop that in there and not explain anything
