two pebbles
evil gracerocky au where they're both pretending that they want to solve the astrophage problem bc they think the other wants to. grace sabotages his own experiments. rocky messes up his xenonite soldering under the excuse that it works different in sol atmospheric conditions.
for the most part im just combining the separate evil grace and evil rocky aus ive seen floating around cuz i want them to be evil and codependent and selfish forever. like lets all make gracerocky more unhealthy i think. for fun
grace who doesn't wake up with amnesia by some miracle so he follows through with his threats to sabotage the mission. rocky whos grown bitter and maybe a little insane in all his years of isolation. mmm
they know tau ceti's star system will be completely fine so they don't really care to do anything for their respective star systems. the only concern would be food, but maybe they both lock in on synthesizing food for each other and its like. hm. interesting!
cuz all their experiments for the astrophage problem mysteriously fail, but they lock the fuck in when it comes to increasing the longevity of their lives? the "clumsy" grace is oh so dextrous all of a sudden? xenonite is suddenly a lot more stable of a material than before?
"hey rocky did you make the chains yet" "no but i managed to make multivitamin supplements for you in case we stay here for a longer period of time" "lovely. thanks, bud"
i do think that eventually one of them figures out what the other is doing. but instead of confronting them about it, they like watching them Squirm and hide it. like rocky once heard grace poke holes into the breeder tanks and hes like oughh my human is so cute <3
adding onto this because someone asked: evil grockdrian au!
evil adrian who's very tired of people thinking rocky is dead. they can feel it in their hearts that rocky's out there somewhere. and, well, rocky worked on the blip-a. adrian knows their way around the assembly facility for sure.
most people think they're just there to mourn and leave them be, but they've been slowly smuggling supplies into one of the spaceships with full intention to steal it and go off into space. it's a flawless plan and they pull it off successfully.
when they get to tau ceti, they find grace and rocky there in the middle of their little charade of "we're pretending we want to fix things but we don't really want to". grace and rocky are both very pleasantly surprised to find them, and ask why they're here.
now, adrian has not had time to talk with rocky alone or gauge the situation at hand. so, they lie and say that erid sent them as backup to help the blip-a crew. but in reality, they know they could never go back without facing consequences and they vow to sabotage the mission.
now ALL THREE of them are playing this fuckass game of pretend LMAOOO nobody wants this damn mission to be completed
It was nice not having to cover them in blood and soot this time
been thinking about grace and adrian being alike
I hope they pirated Minecraft on those computers. I think Rocky would like it
i had a dream about superman and then i was thinking about PHM and...
nice guy with glasses ends up saving the world and a noble gas turned metal ending with (ite) almost stopped that from happening.
idk.

Ngl ever since Tumblr removed the quick queue feature being on this app is hell and that's why I haven't been on here as much
Hand-to-Hand Combat: It takes more than just “he punched, she kicked.”
1. Physical Accuracy Leverage & Technique: Real fights aren’t just about strength. A smaller fighter can drop a bigger opponent by using balance, angles, and momentum (think judo throws, joint locks, sweeps).
Range Matters: Fights transition—long range (kicks), mid-range (punches), close-range (elbows, knees, grappling). Switching ranges is realistic.
Breathing & Fatigue: Real fights gas people out in seconds. Characters don’t trade a hundred blows like a Marvel scene. Show them panting, arms heavy, desperate.
Injury Consequences: A single well-landed strike can change everything—broken nose, dislocated shoulder, busted knee. Don’t have your character eat ten hits and shrug it off unless they’re superhuman.
2. Sensory Detail Sound: Flesh on flesh is a dull thwack, not a sharp crack. Bone breaks? Wet snap. Breathing becomes ragged, teeth grit, knuckles scrape concrete.
Pain & Body Feedback: A hit to the ribs feels like fire spreading across the chest. Blood fills the mouth metallic, vision blurs after a head strike.
Environment: Walls, tables, gravel, furniture; fighters use what’s around them. Getting shoved into drywall or a counter is as devastating as a clean punch.
3. Psychological Realism Adrenaline: Tunnel vision, shaky hands, slowed perception, explosive bursts of strength.
Intent: Not every blow is meant to kill. Some fighters try to incapacitate, intimidate, or escape. Make the why of their fighting influence the how.
Fear vs. Training: An untrained brawler swings wild. A trained fighter stays tight, efficient, economical. That contrast alone can tell the reader who they are.
4. Writing Style & Flow Clarity over Chaos: Avoid blow-by-blow play-by-play (“He punched. She blocked. He ducked.”). Instead, group actions into beats that flow. Example: He lunged, fists hammering wildly; she stepped inside the swing, and jammed an elbow into his ribs. The air rush out of him in a brutal wheeze before he could recover.
Pacing: Keep sentences shorter, sharper, when the fight is intense; mimics adrenaline. Then expand after a takedown, when the moment stretches.
Character Voice: A soldier’s internal narration won’t match a street kid’s. One notices openings and guard drops, the other thinks in scrappy desperation (“Hit him before he hits me”).
5. Things Writers Screw Up (Don’t Do This) ❖ Endless choreographed exchanges with no fatigue.
❖ Ignoring injuries until convenient.
❖ Making every move clean and elegant. Real fights are messy, clumsy, brutal.\
❖ Forgetting recovery: sore knuckles, bruises, limps after.
⚔️ Pro Tip: Watch real sparring or self-defense breakdowns (boxing, Muay Thai, Krav Maga, BJJ). You’ll see how fights collapse into chaos fast, and how even trained fighters don’t look like Hollywood superheroes.

Superman!
I’m like 6 days behind on my self imposed AU challenge so I’m gonna queue them throughout the night lol…. Day 4: Bruce and Dick role swap….
Alfred is appointed as Bruce’s guardian like usual but the boy can’t get the man that held him and covered his eyes from his dead parents out of his head. The little detective tracks him down to a gym in the Narrows, where he’s been working since he aged out of the Gotham foster care system. Guess where Bruce wants to take self defence/gymnastics(?) lessons now.

Bro I love Tim- okay- I am not hating on Tim.
Keep that in mind while I say this:
Some of you are grasping at straws for his trauma.
Like shits happen sure, but for vigilante/superhero standards? He’s doing damn pretty good.
Bro is surprisingly self actualized. He can recognize when he ain’t doing too hot and always seeks help. He’s relatively good at not taking on too much. Tim is (again, I say relatively) in tune with his body and feelings.
I love Red Robin okay? But yall took this marvelous crash out and made it his whole personality. Can’t a man (try to) take down two assassin organizations to search for a man Tim’s convinced himself to believe isn’t dead without being labeled as unstable?
