Lily was in a cold sweat, her legs were shaky and her breath short.
James was an idiot, and she was even more so for leaving him in control.
He was talking to an older couple about something that had to do with the new bank rules, she couldn't even hear or reason to get into their subject, looking like those idiot brides who served as trophies for their husbands at these events.
But who could blame her?
If you were in her shoes, you'd understand that Lily was in a position where she couldn't even open her mouth to say something.
Her heart sped up as she felt her legs twitching, her thighs quivering, and sweat trickling down her spine, forcing her to grip her husband's hand much more tightly than she already was, but the bastard didn't even seem to feel the pain, continuing to smile and talk with the greatest naturalness in the world.
As he had done the last three times, James lowered the vibration to the lowest level, nearly turning off the toy inside Lily, which caused a pain that nearly made her cry in the midst of everyone.
She was going to kill her husband when he got home.

''It's not easy working at the Ministry, right?'' That man's wife said to her, smiling kindly.
''No, it's not,'' She took advantage of that moment to get closer to James, placing her hand on his member under the table, taking advantage that no one was watching. ''It's been really tiring,'' Lily's eyes widened, feeling the vibration start really strong inside her, almost making her scream. ''There are so many lawsuits-'' The sentence died on her lips, fire rising through her cheeks, lap and neck.
James grinned, taking her now-loose hand on his cock and pulling her away. ''I think it's about time we left, don't you? I'm afraid she has the flu, and we all know that pregnant women need to take care of themselves,''
''Absolutely!'' The woman seemed in awe of James' affection for Lily, the concern he'd been having with her all night, asking if she liked the food, the drink, if she was comfortable… All this while it made her almost come and stopped everything for the third time, making her see stars and come back to Earth in seconds.

People always wonder if Kate’s jealous of women are ho walk up to Anthony and bat their eyelashes and try to sneak a dance out of him, and truth be told for half a second she is. Before his eyes flick to hers and a genuine smile, not his polite society mask, breaks over his face and he practically gives the woman he’d been talking to the cut before he calls out-
“Darling! There you are! Our dance is next!”
He barely leaves her side at all, and she catches him quite a few times trying to catch the fabric of her dress to hold in his hand as they make their way through the ballroom. All of the handkerchiefs she embroiders for herself go missing only to be found in Anthony’s breast pocket.
What need does she have to be jealous when the other ladies sigh and say they want another child and they lament it though they want the child because it means they will once again have to share their bed. And they look at her expecting a laugh and yet all she can do is grown when they ask her.
“Is Lord Bridgerton still regularly visiting? I suppose he must not be, with his job managed so quickly. Well done in that score by the way, should keep him at arms length.”
And Kate can’t really think of anything to say but- “Lord Bridgerton and I have spent… only one night apart since we married. He was detained in London on business though he’d meant to be back in the night. He was an awful bear when he returned home the next morning.”
And the women give her a pitiable smile and she can’t quite figure out why because that’s what she feels for them: Pity.

hello!! just want to say that post is p accurate. kikyō and kagome share the same soul.. no one is putting down kagome - kagome is kagome but she does hold Kik’s soul and that’s what brought her to inuyasha in the first place

I never said that OP is putting Kagome down or that Kagome is not Kikyo's reincarnation. OP said that Kagome and Kikyo are "the same person" and that "Inuyasha did end up with Kikyo" which is what I'm disagreeing with.
I don’t think Kagome and Kikyo are the same person because I think Rumiko clearly established that in her series your consciousness is what makes you a person, not your soul.
And I don’t think Inuyasha “ended with Kikyo through Kagome” because Kagome’s soul is larger than the part she shared with Kikyo and she literally doesn’t have that part in her at the end of the series.
First of all, this idea that 2 people can have the same soul but different consciousness is the whole point of chapter 50. Unfortunately (and unsurprisingly) that chapter was poorly adapted in the anime, so anime-only fans might not know about this. Point is: this chapter makes it clear that Kikyo’s consciousness was awakened from within Kagome’s soul by Urasue’s ritual, and that these 2 consciousness existing separately makes them 2 very different beings.
While Kikyo was crying over being murdered and hating Inuyasha, Kagome worries about having to pass her exams. They are not the same. Kagome doesn’t share Kikyo’s emotions, memories, thoughts, etc. They share the same spiritual essence but they are different people. This is also the chapter where Inuyasha goes from “Kagome is not Kikyo (derogatory)” to “Kagome is NOT Kikyo (affectionate)”. He starts to fall in love with Kagome because her smile makes him happy, which is the opposite of how he felt with Kikyo. Chapter 78 (which is ALSO manga-only) Inuyasha makes it very clear that he does sees Kagome and Kikyo as completely separate people and does not have feelings for Kagome because he sees Kikyo in her.
There’s also the matter of “Inuyasha ended up with Kikyo through Kagome” which does not make much sense to me considering Kikyo’s consciousness was removed from Kagome and went to nirvana in the end. The clay body that Urasue made does not contain purely malice/hatred, it has the piece of Kagome’s soul that had Kikyo’s consciousness. Kaede, Inuyasha and Kikyo herself will refer to it as “Kikyo’s soul” for the rest of the series.
There’s also plenty of hints that Kagome’s soul is larger than what she inherited from Kikyo, starting with Kaede being shocked at the fact that Kagome could call back her soul when Inuyasha was in danger of being killed by Kikyo:
Kagome is not just Kikyo’s reincarnation, that’s what is being said here. This is supported by Kanna mentioning that Kagome has a soul that is much larger than normal:
Unfortunately Rumiko didn’t really elaborate on that but she did establish this, that Kagome is not just Kikyo’s reincarnation, her soul is bigger than that. Also as I previously said, the part of Kagome’s soul that contained Kikyo’s consciousness went to nirvana at the end, it did not go back to Kagome. If Kikyo’s soul is what attracted Inuyasha to Kagome then why is it that he started falling in love with Kagome once that part was removed from her and once he truly realized that she’s not Kikyo?
I don’t think Kagome having Kikyo’s soul is what drew Kagome to Inuyasha in the first place. I think it’s the red string of fate that connects Inuyasha to KAGOME that led her to him. And yes, they do have that connection because of Kikyo’s regrets when she died (not being able to be a normal woman and failing to heal Inuyasha’s heart) but it doesn’t change the fact that it is Kagome, as her own person, who is Inuyasha’s destined lover.
I get that people have strong feelings about this because the concept of the soul is present in a lot of spiritual/religious texts, but here we are talking about a fictional soft magic system. I think Rumiko made it clear that in her story Kagome was not meant to be seen as "the same person" as Kikyo and Inuyasha did not fall in love with Kagome because he sees Kikyo in her. There are plenty of other stories out there about soulmates finding each other in different lifetimes and I think Rumiko tried her best to subvert that trope and do something a bit different, so it’s disheartening to see people claim that they understand the story better than everyone else because they think Inuyasha “only loved one woman in 2 different bodies”.
Show!Edwina was really like: yeah I want a love match but instead of looking for that with any of the dozens of eligible men interested in courting me I’m gonna fixate on the man eyefucking my sister constantly who is also incidentally the only dude I’ve met who straight up said he does not want to marry for love. I’m obsessed with him even though my sister said multiple times that he’s an asshole I should not marry. Everybody but me saw their chemistry.

Wrapped around Anthony's wrist, and he hadn't really thought about it, the placement, just that he wanted it wrapped around him. Like the thread attached to his chest that seemed to be wrapped around Kate's fist. But he certainly doesn't hate that when his fingers tangle in her hair in looks like it's sitting on her head, just like she deserves.
Violet Bridgerton wasn't blind. She had certainly seen the way Anthony looked at one of the girls in his class. Ever since he'd been fourteen, his eyes had tracked this girl, with her dark hair and her intelligent eyes, her face startlingly pretty even then. She'd seen the way Anthony's ears would burn bright red when she walked past him, slipping into a car a little ahead of theirs, a slightly vague expression on his face.
"Who's that girl?" Violet had eventually asked, looking at him sharply as he slid into the front seat beside her, his cheeks still red from whatever the girl had tossed back to him over her shoulder, her head thrown back laughing.
"What girl?" Anthony had said after far too long, Eyes still burning into the silver Volkswagen that had just pulled off.
Violet had rolled her eyes, "The girl you were talking to just now, Anthony. The one who's got your cheeks all red, Darling."
"They aren't red!" Anthony blustered, doing a perfect impression of a lobster.
"Well, I must be blind then." She'd hummed, looking at Benedict in the back seat, reaching back to tap his legs, getting his attention, signing in the rearview mirror. Ben, who is the girl your brother likes?
A smirk grew on Benedict's face as Anthony spun around, No! Ben! No! Don't tell her!I'll buy you so many Dr Peppers!
Ben waved him off, clearly deciding torturing his brother was worth more than a few cans of pop Her name's Kate Sharma! Anthony's in love with her! He wants to ask her to the formal!
"No! No! I don't!" Anthony had yelled, attempting to throttle his brother as Violet gasped excitedly.
"Anthony!"
"No! No, Anthony! I'm not in love with her, she's just... she's kind of really pretty, um- and smart, and witty and like maybe she smells nice but that's it!" His entire face had turned red now, creeping down below his shirt.
"You should ask her to the dance." Violet hummed turning into the primary school.
"I'm not- I don't go to dances Mum. And Kate- she doesn't like me."
"Well how will you even know if you don't ask her?"
And three years later, he had.
And Violet had to admit, it was really very sweet to see Anthony, who'd always thought he had to show everyone how tough he was, melt completely whenever Kate Sharma looked at him.
She'd nearly fallen over the first time he'd come home with his hair braided (And a suspicious looking bruise on his neck) a bright smile on his face.
"You look very... you've done something with your hair."
"Kate did it for me! Cool huh?"
It had caught in Violet's chest, how happy he looked. "Yes, sweetheart, it's nice."
And Kate Sharma was exactly the kind of girl she would have picked for Anthony. Strong and confident, quick, sharp, but kind. Someone who not only didn't mind that Anthony needed to spend time with his younger siblings, that he had to help out, but was happy to do it with him. Sitting on the sidelines at Gregory's football games, cheering along tucked into Anthony's side. Or when she'd sat at the dining table, while Violet and Anthony were trying to figure out the schedule for the coming week, which of them was going to look after the little ones when she had an appointment and Daphne needed to go to ballet, and she'd just shrugged.
"I'd be happy to look after Gregory and Hyacinth, Violet."
"Oh Kate, darling you don't have to-"
But Kate had shaken her head, "No, I'd love to help, and I can have that at mine, with Mary if you'd be more comfortable."
"Well, if you're sure."
Anthony had wrapped his arm over her shoulder, tucking her against his chest, his lips pressed against Kate's temple, "I love you."
Violet had had to excuse herself to hide the way she'd burst into tears.
They were beautiful together, even if Violet had worried a little what Kate's parents might think of Anthony, the tattoos already on his arms, the piercings, his motorcycle, pieces of himself that she didn't care about, but other people did. But she needn't have worried.
The very first time Anthony had awkwardly introduced her to Kate's parents, the girl herself tucked into his side with her lips brushing his cheek, giggling as they ran off together, leaving them alone.
Mary Sharma had hummed, "Oh they're sweet together."
Kate's father, who'd been watching them run off into the crowd in search of some sort of mischief no doubt had hummed, turning his attention to her. "I have to tell you, Anthony's a really great kid. You must be proud."
Violet had looked at him, searching for any sign it was a barb, but both of the Sharma's had been smiling gently, and her heart had stuttered. "Oh- um- he's a sweet boy, he just... needs a little reassurance. And Kate is... Kate's a lovely girl. You must be very proud."
Tom had nodded, looking straight to the heart of her for a moment it seemed before he sighed, "Well, they're very happy together, and I know that some people are less than kind towards Anthony, but we like him. He fixed a clunk I'd had in my engine for ages. Good kid."
Mary rolled her eyes, "You'll have to excuse him, he's very excited about knowing someone handy. Katie's happy though, and that's all we care about. They're also awfully cute when he piggy backs her around."
Violet hadn't been able to help the little coo that rose in her throat, "Oh that is adorable, the other day I caught them on the sofa, he was reading aloud to him while he turned the pages."
They all seemed to think it was set in stone. And months later, Anthony confirmed it.
Kate was away, Violet knew, a family wedding elsewhere, Mary's cousin, she thought maybe. She'd be away for a few weeks, and Anthony apparently had plans.
"Um, Mum, I um- I can't take Frankie to Piano this week, I've an appointment and they had to reschedule it and I have to do it while Kate's away and-" Anthony had stood in the kitchen, wringing his hands, clearly apologetic, his brow furrowed.
She'd waved him off, "It's fine, darling. Go to your appointment. Do I need to be worried?"
Anthony had shaken his head, "I'm- I'm getting a new tattoo, and, actually I'm getting my tongue pierced as well."
Violet had just nodded, trying desperately not to think about why Anthony wanted a tongue piercing all of a sudden, to surprise his girlfriend, well passed being scandalised at her tattooed son. "Have fun then!"
And she wasn't really sure what she'd expected, when he'd come home just before dinner, his forearm wrapped in plastic.
Ooooo. Anthony's got his new little dedication Ben had chuckled, and that had caught Violet's attention, signing in time with her words.
"Dedication?" She'd asked, watching the nervous way Anthony's eyes had darted around the room.
He'd looked at her, for a long moment before he'd sighed, gently peeling off the cling film. And Violet hadn't been able to help the surprised gasp that fell from her chest.
It was a crown, twisting around his forearm, intricately shaded in black and grey, a name hidden in the details Kate. She would have known who it was for without the name, anyone who'd seen them together would.

Anthony's face twitched, "I know, it sounds stupid Mum, but I love Kate, and we're going to be together forever. I'm going to get an apprenticeship when we finish school and one day we'll get married. That's- That's what I want."
She'd watched him, after Edmund had died, slowly shut off his hopes for the future. Slowly pretended he didn't want anything, and here he was, the rest of his life planned out because someone had loved him enough to stand her ground. So while this should have scared her, her son not yet 19 telling her he wanted to marry his girlfriend, she really didn't care.
Violet cleared her throat, "I think..." Anthony could hardly look at her, his fingers clenched on the table. "Your Dad would have been very proud. Kate's perfect for you. And she's going to love that, Tom maybe not so much."
But apparently Violet was wrong because the next time she saw Anthony with Tom Sharma, the man was clapping her son on the back, laughing happily.
"Thank you, for being so good to him." Violet said softly after Anthony had darted off with Kate. "He just... he misses his Dad."
Tom nodded understandingly, "I meant what I said, Violet: He's a good kid." It settled in Violet's chest, the fact that someone else saw what she did, when there were so many people who didn't. "And it looks like he's going to be my son in law one day. Our Grandchildren are going to be very cute."
I am quite certain that I shall never get over the absolute treasure that is Anthony and Tom’s relationship. Oh, and Kanthony having a baby was also nice, I suppose... 😂
Real talk though, “Good Girls” was such a good AU, and I was so happy when you began writing “Strife”, and now even that has come to an end. But, I’m happy that Kanthony got to have their HEA in this universe (they deserve an HEA in every universe, but I digress). All’s well that ends well, and this ended amazingly!
The Violet reaction in ep 6/7 makes no sense bc Violet’s defining character trait is that she wants her children to have love marriages because that was her biggest source of happiness in life. Regardless of her wanting a mini-me or whatever, I simply cannot believe that she would push Anthony towards a loveless marriage in any capacity. It just does not track ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You're right. There is absolutely no justification for it cause how could you watch him react that way in the church, hear what Daphne said about Kanthony and then go " aNtHoNy yOu shOulD maRRy SomEonE else" after clearly seeing anthony giving heart eyes to Kate.
