One of the best pro-life anecdotes I've ever heard was a talk given by a woman who had gotten pregnant when she was poor, single, and in her early twenties. She couldn't go through with an abortion, gave the baby up for adoption, and never told anyone in her family that she'd ever been pregnant. Then years later her now-adult daughter reached out, and not that long afterward the daughter gave birth to a daughter and this woman got to be a part of her daughter and her granddaughter's life.

Her talk quoted the line from Schindler's List about "you have saved generations." Her choice not to abort saved not only her daughter's life, but the life of every single one of her descendants. That is heroism.
