"The way to right wrongs is to turn the light of truth on them." -Ida B. Wells I'm immensely proud of my sister and the millions of other people across the world who joined together in peaceful demonstrations and marches this past Saturday. They marched for themselves, partners, family members, friends, future generations, and for the many people, myself included, who were unable to march. All of these people have zero tolerance for racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, xenophobia, and any other "phobia" normalized by Donald Trump. Donald Trump is a man who would have said anything to win the presidential election. This is a man who after winning has made no true effort to reach out to his non-supporters. This is a man who criticized members of our country's elite, as if he hasn't "reaped the rewards of government while the people have borne the cost". This is a man who believes it is acceptable to speak of sexually assault in a casual manner, as it's just "locker room talk". This is a man who believes climate change is a "concept" that was "created by and for the Chinese". This is a man who reviewed environmental policies set in place by Former President Obama and decided to go forward with the Dakota Access Pipeline in order to create "a lot of jobs, 28,000 construction jobs, great construction jobs," and consistently proven he believes the economy is more important than the future of our only planet. This is a man who believes that there should be some type of punishment for women who choose to have an abortion. This is a man who believes that mocking mentally disabled people is acceptable. This is a man who has nominated far too many unqualified people to be in his Cabinet, such as Betsy DeVos, who, despite being the nominee for the Secretary of Education, is unfamiliar with the argument of proficiency v. growth and thinks schools shouldn't be gun-free zones incase there are grizzly bears. This is a man who half of our country is comfortable and willing to standing behind. This is not normal. We will not allow ignorance to become normal. The fear Donald Trump attempts to instill in us will not silence us. We will rise. #NastyWomen #StillNotMyPresident
