listen. i am tired. im putting down my pitchfork. i’ll acknowledge that thing was bad if it was but im tired of vilifying ppl for their mistakes just bc they’re famous. i want to enjoy things. i want Peace

For a long time I was second guessing everything I liked because they did this or that wrong, the actors did this, the writers did that, they left out this or ignored that… It’s just too much.

It’s just so tiring. Acknowledge where they can do better, but give yourself a break for the things you like. No one is perfect and you can like things that aren’t perfect.

And keep in mind, sometimes you’re not the only tired one. A lot of people are as tired of hearing constant negativity or controversy as you are of fighting. If all people do is talk about the negative things to each other, we’re going to run all our tanks dry, feel overwhelmed, and the worst stuff will feel completely insurmountable. People outside our circles will see us getting worked up over trivial matters, and lethargic over bigger ones.

Save it. Put down your pitchfork, and let the little things slide. Hell, unfollow a blog or two if you can’t  You’ll feel better, you won’t be in such a despairing mood when something serious comes around and people need to get up and fight, and people will take your comments more seriously the less often you say stuff like that. 

And if you ever, ever need a warm fuzz... look up a video where someone just got a pair of EnChroma specs.

OH MY GOODNESS I SAW THIS ON TWITTER AND I WAS LIKE “OH NO…. DUDE… DUDE NO”

this plant is, in fact, a cattail (Typha genus, probably either Typha latifolia or Typha angustifolia). what’s ironic about this person’s encounter is that almost every single part of the cattail is edible– the rhizomes are starchy and, although tough, can be made into a nutritious flour; the stems can be peeled and used like asparagus; the pollen can be gathered and used to extend or supplement flour; and even the green flower spikes can be boiled and eaten like corn-on-the-cob, so this person sort of had the right idea.

the thing is, what this person has in their photo is a BROWN flower spike, meaning that it’s starting to go to seed and is probably a tasteless mouthful of either fiber or fluff. regardless of whether the post is a joke or serious, out of all the edible parts of the cattail, op managed to pick one of the ONLY parts of the plant that isn’t. and i still can’t get over that.

As a side note, rubbing that part of the plant makes an absolutely ridiculous amount of fluff come out (which is how it disperses the seeds). I highly recommend it but it’s probably best to do that when no one else is around
