Inaugural Post

My name is Leon. I've been on Tumblr for over a decade, but my old blog has a lot of things that I'm not comfortable sharing with the internet communities I've been a part of on other sites. I'm not even talking about cringe. I'm talking about years and years of posting personal thoughts, deadname mentions, and other stuff I want to keep archived, but not on display.

A little about me:

I'm a ttrpg designer, and I do lots of freelance work. You can learn more about me on my website here. I'm very interested in engaging with the ttrpg community here on Tumblr.

The fandom I historically participate in the most is Pokémon. I'll definitely be posting a lot of that on here, as well as Ace Attorney, Splatoon, and a ton of other Nintendo games.

I'm queer, 21+, and that's about all you're gonna get out of me for now.

If you’re using Skype you should dump it and get Discord instead!

Pros:

Cleaner, easier to navigate interface

Free servers for more permanent group chat things (way easier to hop in and out of chats)

You can actually have different nicknames on each server if you want

Is actually well built and doesn’t make your computer yearn for death

Cons:

All your friends aren’t on it

But you can change that

Download it. It’s great and it’s only getting better. It’s aimed at gamers but it has nearly all the functionality of Skype and then some.

Since Discord first became a thing, it has added:

friends lists

group chats

changeable statuses

search function

and a hell of a lot more!  Also this is a huge shout out to any of my friends who still use Skype – I don’t use it, I use Discord.  Mail me and I’ll shoot you my details :)

Also the audio quality is just way better and more consistent than Skype’s.

Discord uses it’s own servers to host calls instead of relying on a user host like skype :0

Situations when it's appropriate to say "I'm always saying this":

1. When you are always saying this (factually correct)

2. When this is actually the opposite of what you're always saying (it's satire)

3. When you have never said this before in your life (how would they know!!)

4. When no one else in the world has ever said this and everyone knows that (very funny)

5. When no actual coherent words are being said (maybe I'm always saying this, like, emotionally)
