One you filled with water because you figured you wouldn’t actually be eating or drinking anyway. Okay but the reason Pearl’s colors have been fading is because a gem loses it’s color the more it gets exposed. That’s why the pink/blue/yellows on pearls outfits are now way lighter than they were in the flashbacks and Pearl’s hair has been losing it’s pink. She still has all the same colors they just kind of changed. 

The same happened to Ruby and Sapphire who were slightly darker in The Answer. Basically you can tell a gem’s age based on how vibrant their colors are. A good example were the rubies in Hit The Diamond.

as you can see eyeball is much lighter and we all know she was present during Pink Diamond’s shattering. the other rubies were confirmed to be much younger.

I have made 2 pretty good-looking promos the past 2 days yet I can't make anything decent for myself.

    ❛     oh ,    yes Peridot  .   ❜    the note in your hand is awfully crumbled ,   and you cannot help but wonder what  EXACTLY  Peridot was trying to communicate to you .   she had the tendency to well… not make sense sometimes ,   and you really did not want to hold it against her .   she was trying her best you supposed . 

            ❛     what  was  it  tha —   ❜    the scene before you stops you on your tracks ,   eyes previously glued on the paper now staring baffled at the elaborate ,   EXPLICITLY romantic set up. you weren’t born yesterday ,  (  over 5000 years ago to be almost exact, you could tell it to the correct decimal but that would be just showing off  )  you were aware what romance looked like in a rudimentary level ,   and what Peridot was going for seemed to be the most basic yet over the top display of well ,   romance . 

           oh this turned quite awkward fast ,   it’s almost giving you whiplash .

    You don’t really respond to her just yet, instead slightly tilting one of the chairs, inviting Pearl to come and sit on it. A smile staying steadily on your face the whole time.   ‘ It’s a date ! ’  You say matter-o-factly.   ‘ Or at least it’s supposed to be. ’    You wait for Pearl to take her seat before taking on yourself across from her. Quickly gazing at the fake dinner card you had prepared for her and yourself. Apparently grass is on the menu tonight.  

    ‘ Didn’t you get my note ? ’    You ask of her without even giving her the chance of answering that.    ‘ We’re pretending !  A sort of “arr pee” if you will. ’    Truth be told you knew absolutely nothing about role playing but it sounds right.

   You had been rehearsing too many times to count. Yet no matter how much you tried none of the things you said sounded right. Books only told you that much and even the internet could make things seem so much easier than they were in real life. Meanwhile the sun was setting, the sky coloring a pinkish hue.     You had dropped your items off at a open field away from the barn. Lapis wasn’t supposed to witness this iteration of embarrassment you had bestowed upon yourself. Everything was supposed to be just right and you couldn’t afford her seeing it yet. Not like this. Not the date.

   So you asked Pearl to rehearse with you. A game of pretend you had taken far too serious. Continuously making sure everything was  p e r f e c t.  To the position of the chairs, to the cloth on the table, even the flower in can you had so professional put together just for the occasion.  ----------------- WHY WAS IT TAKING HER SO LONG?!         A thought that was profoundly displayed through a series of highly irritated noises.

    However your impatience was quickly answered by a Pearl showing up in the middle of the field. Holding the note you send to her for coordination. Of course she would understand.      ‘ PEARL! ’      You yell at her, waving your hand in the air in the distance.     ‘ Over here! ’   You sounded from afar.
