A HANDY CHART FOR THOSE OF YOU WONDERING WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THESE. NOTE THAT THESE ARE ALL THE INFORMAL AND YOU IS THE FORMAL SO LIKE YOU WOULD ALWAYS ADDRESS YOUR SUPERIOR/ OLDER PERSON/ SOCIAL BETTER WITH YOU BUT WITH YOUR BUDS YOU CAN USE THESE.
#one of my favorite details in iolanthe is how at the beginning of “my lord‚ a suppliant at your feet i kneel” #she uses you when addressing the lord chancellor (her husband who she is forbidden to talk to under pain of death) #but after that the rest of the song (and the opera iirc) she switches to thou/thee/thine pronouns for him #it’s just. hhhhhhghhh #just ab absolutely beautiful use of formal/informal second person pronouns
you may be familiar with disney twisted wonderland, the gacha game in which various disney villains are used as direct inspiration for handsome anime boys. well that game was so successful that disney is trying to do it again but this time they're just animeboyifying whatever
here's mickey, goofy, donald, and chip & dale. yeah they turned mickey & friends into anime boys. they're an idol unit or something. they're technically not anime boy versions of the source characters, they have different names. mickey's guy is "Neo Michel". not michael, michel, like he's french. chip & dale are "Ruska Moncrief" and "Ranka Monk", they have different last names, they're not brothers anymore so that they can be yaoibait instead, anyways this post isn't actually about these guys I'm just setting the stage for the actual humanizations I wanted to show you
They also did monsters inc. And. Well it's obvious from the designs who mike and sully are. but you will also notice. the blonde one on the left. with glasses. monsters inc is kind of famously about just the two guys so they didn't really have a lot of other non-villain characters to take anime boys inspiration from, I guess, so, well,
Yeah it's her. they made an anime boy version of the mean receptionist slug. her name is roz btw, as all of boygachagame twitter has become extremely aware of in the past 3 days as we speculated prior to the release of the full image who tf the third guy was. the anime boy's name is "noah slugger". at this point no parody of the types of things gacha games will make gijinkas of will ever be able to live up to what disney is officially spending their own real money on designing
Rating Funko Pops but Specifically Dracula Ones Because I Made a Questionable Purchase™️
Rating by How Good it Looks, Recognition as Dracula, and How Likely I'd Buy It
POP! Dracula
Very basic, literally only has two (2) colors but is still undeniably Dracula (specifically Bela Lugosi's). Wouldn't be surprised to see this in the background of a YouTuber that goes At Length about old movies for Halloween specials.
Looks: 1/5 Move too fast and he looks completely monochrome. Pose is also kind of... Stiff?
Recognition: 5/5 It's the OG man
Would I Buy It: 2/5 If I was an avid collector of Dracula stuff then absolutely; unfortunately I have neither the shelf space nor the budget
Overall: 8/15 "Bleh?" More like "Meh."
POP! Dracula (Black and White)
... Literally Is but Somehow Isn't the previous one. Zero color yet somehow more fun than regular POP!Dracula?? Previous is just "Velcome to Castle Dracula" meanwhile this guy is going "GET OVER HERE YOU LIVING BLOOD BAG BWAHAHAHA"
Corny but sells it for me.
Looks: 3/5 Definitely suffering from lack of color but the design DEFINITELY sells Dracula, especially with the collar. The pose is also more alive, so fun to look at or leave in corners/behind doors to make people jump.
Recognition: 3/5 Probably couldn't tell who/what he is from a distance because uhhhhh yeah no color. Sorry buddy that is REALLY docking points for you.
Would I Buy It: 3/5 Would probably end up painting him (at least the vest and cape) but y'know what he looks fun!
Overall: 9/15 Proper "BLEH!!" kind of Dracula
Universal Monsters: Dracula
Holy shit the DETAIL ON THIS. Yes it's just Black and White Dracula with Color, but BOY does the color pop (hehe). Hell, not just pop, it SOCKS YOU with this almost comic book feel that helps define the figure and give it the dimension you usually don't get from these.
Looks: 4.5/5 Looks RIGHT out of a horror movie poster. Buuuuuuuut half-point reduction because I really liked the eyebrows on the black and white figure and they didn't keep that here. Sigh.
Recognition: 5/5 The colors definitely help with identifying him immediately, even from a distance
Would I Buy: 4.5/5 I would if I could find a trustworthy site or found it in the wild but uhhhhhhhh so far nothing.
Overall: 14/15 Dude NOTHING is gonna beat this
Nosferatu: A Symphony of Terror-Count Orlok
He's Legally Distinct Dracula back before Dracula hit the public domain, so YES HE COUNTS.
Looks: 4/5 Definitely something you'd expect a horror movie buff to own. Point deduction because the bushiness of the hair throws me off? Only one though bc the lil rat friend is a cute addition.
Recognition: 2/5 Sorry dude but only Real Nerds would know you're Technically Dracula.
Would I Buy: 1/5 No sorry.
Overall: 7/15 Definitely for Die-Hard Horror Movie Buffs but not for me.
Bram Stoker's Dracula: Count Dracula
For coming from a decently-known Dracula film, this guy... isn't who we think of as Dracula. You know that, I know that, but he IS Dracula so if I'm adding Orlok (who is an early derivative of Dracula) then we're adding him.
Looks: 1.5/5 Half-point for the intricate decals considering the usual size of these things but uhhhhh that's it.
Recognition: 1/5 You could tell me this was a pope from a historical fiction piece and I'd believe you. Only people who not only saw the movie, but probably saw it at least twice would immediately clock this as Dracula.
Would I Buy: 0/5 Naw
Overall: 2.5/15 Eesh.
Bram Stoker's Dracula: Prince Vlad
"Peppy this is from the same media as previous, isn't that cheating" No it is not okay
Looks: 5/5 It's Gary Oldman guys, what am I supposed to put.
Recognition: 3.5/5 Like previous you'd probably have to see the movie in order to realize this is Dracula. Unlike the previous, firstly this is how most people remember that particular film's Dracula, and secondly you aren't going to assume this guy tried to burn people at the stake for witchcraft or urged a morally conflicted knight to participate in the Crusades. Instead you'd just think he's a dapper Victorian gentleman (which isn't wrong?).
Would I Buy: 3/5 Eh why not
Overall: 11.5/15 Definite upgrade from the Count
Patchwork Dracula
................ Yikes.
Looks: 2.5/5 You know how I complained about how Black and White Dracula had zero color? This is the other end of the scale with too much color. There is SO MUCH going on and your eyes keep bouncing around. It's uh... yikes. Half-point added for the fact that the pattern on his hair and cape are lil bat shapes, that is cute.
Recognition: 3/5 Up close you can tell what he's supposed to be, but it's still weird that he's also putting a whole leg into the Frankenstein territory. Also at a distance the scattered colors would make it hard to tell what you're looking at, along with how the eyes are different.
Would I Buy: -1/5 No.
Overall: 4.5/15 Uhhhhhhhhhh yikes.
Ghost Dracula
I added Orlok so why not. (also I'm not a huge fan of Ghost so apologies if I'm missing things)
Looks: 3/5 Bro is shiny and has a fun design! He's got lil bat wings man!! Also KILLER collar, much as it doesn't pop.
Recognition: 0/5 Sorry guys, this is Ghost before it's Dracula (if it... even IS Dracula? Again, I'm not a huge Ghost fan).
Would I Buy: 1/5 Yes for a friend, No for myself.
Overall: 4/15 You go down just like Holy Mary, Mary on a.. Mary on a Cros--what, no? Okay.
Castlevania Dracula
EXCUSE ME??? EX-FUCKING-CUSE ME??? THIS EXISTS???? THIS EXISTS AND I ONLY JUST FOUND OUT????? NOT FUCKING FAIR AT ALL MAN, WHAT THE FUCK
Looks: 5/5 PERFECT color scheme, they translate him from the Netflix series about as perfectly as you can for Funko Pop.
Recognition: 5/5 THIS IS THE DRACULA PEOPLE WANT TO FU-
Would I Buy: 1005/5 WHERE THE FUCK IS THIS AND WHERE DO I GO
Overall: 1015/15 GIVE HIM TO ME
Dracula (Anime)
ANIME???? ANIME??? HELL YOU MEAN ANIME, IT DIDN'T SAY THAT ON THE BOX???? UNLESS YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO GLEAN THAT FROM THE LITTLE ANIME FACES ON THE SIDES?????
Looks: 4/5 Simple, though the eyeshadow and pink of the cape is a little... it's not bad but it does throw you off? Feels a little weird for Dracula and makes me want to paint the cape red so one point deduction.
Recognition: 4.5/5 It's Definitely Dracula, but it's "Monster Movie Dating Sim" Dracula (ANIME??? ANIME???). Still, the differences are subtle; you wouldn't even notice the lashes right away (which honestly aren't a bad touch).
Would I Buy: ................... I did so um... it doesn't count for this category.
Overall: 8.5/15 I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS ANIME DRACULA OKAY, DON'T JUDGE ME
Into the forest a short distance, he heard Jarlaxle coming quickly behind him. The mercenary said not a word—the tormented Entreri was truly glad of that!—but just walked up beside and matched his every step. Soon after, Jarlaxle draped an arm across Entreri’s shoulders, and the assassin hadn’t the strength to shove it aside.
He was kidding himself again, he knew. He didn’t want to shove it aside.
Computers are so scary what if I accidentally hit F12 in a steam game and it takes a screenshot. What if I press shift + F12 while in word and accidentally save my document 😖
If you had to learn what the F keys on your computer do through me reblogging this post, then I'm glad you did. Computer literacy is not a skill that gets taught anymore, and it is absolutely one that needs to be taught in order to be learned. Don't ever feel bad for not knowing something, but ☝️ don't ever stop learning learning about your environment, the tools you use, and especially the people around you
