⏳ New Years! 2026

Hello all! I wish you a gentle start to the new year! 🎇🎊

It was a tumultuous year for a lot of us, myself included, but not in a bad way- I moved out to my own place over most of the year!

It took a lot (we had to gut and rennovate the place all summer before I moved in Nov), but things are startign to settle down. I don’t have my sewing room/supplies set up yet which has been hard (no sewing/hobbies for over 7 months! 😭) but that is coming hopefully very soon!

Thusly, as soon as I have the room set up and functioning, it’s back to dolly planning for me!

I got to complete one doll in the next series I have planned back over the summer, so my first plan of attack is to finish and release that series by the spring~

I will be opening commissions up as well ASAP too!

Other things I want to tackle this year:

finally getting the Dollmaker set up on the website (its been made, we have just been struggling with how to put it here lol)

possibly some BB merch? Buttons, pins? Stationary? Would be cute!

I’m keeping the goals this year light as I get back into it!

I hope this year I get to take root in my new digs with way more space (and an indoor all season sewign room HOORAY!), and I hope in time my creative juices will flow/bloom/whatever again!

Hello everyone, happy fall and exciting news!

If you are wondering why I've been quiet, it's because I've been in the process of buying/renovating my first place and moving! 🏠 I haven't had much time for dolls or sewing (although I have started a few!)

It will be a while before I have my new sewing room set up, so please look forward to that! I will also not be taking custom orders until I am ready.

I had the pleasure to work on this commission for @furbtasticworksofart of Lorelai from Epithet Erased!! She was so much fun, I loved working on her frilly layers and trimmings & her fun hair & embroidered freckles!

A very special commission for a family dealing with a health-related journey. The two sets of dolls were made to be pairs, and are full of symbolism special to the family, representing Grief & Gratitude, and how they compliment & support each other!

I really enjoyed working with my customer on their designs to make them how they were pictured! He donated some of his old ties to become part of the doll's clothing fabric! It was also fun to work more with embroidery. I'm not a pro, but it still turned out cute!

The family was very happy with the result. I hope they will be cherished in the family for a long time! Projects like this are why I love what I do.

🌿🦟💥 Flytrap Girl! 💥🦟🌿

💚Carnivorous Girls Line 1/6: Venus flytrap (Dionaea muscipula)💚 Carnivorous plant native to temparate wetlands of North & South Carolina, USA. Known for catching insects with two motion-activated "jaws".

Rating: CUTE!

This is actually so cool oh my gosh. Her flytrap Medusa hair looks very healthy and well-fed, which must be really tricky, considering how delicate flytraps can be!

You might notice that the flytraps making up her scarf are much bigger than those in her hair, but don’t worry! Hair-flytraps are simply a different variety than scarf-flytraps, which grow bigger and with longer leaves (allowing them to act as a scarf). Both look perfectly healthy and happy!

Also I think I need to make myself a purse like that now. And maybe a scarf too, who knows.

🍄🐜🌺 Rafflesia Girl! 🌺🐜🍄

💚Carnivorous Girls Line 6/6: Giant padma (Rafflesia arnoldii)💚Parasitic flower native to rainforests in Sumatra & Borneo. Noteworthy for producing the largest individual flower on Earth, as well has having the odor of decaying flesh, giving it the nickname Corpse Lily.

💚Carnivorous Girls Line 5/6: Titan arum (Amorphophallus titanum)💚 Found only in Sumatra. The largest unbranched inflorescence (flower cluster) in the world. Blooming on average every 5-10 years; columnar spadix heats up to human body temparature & gives off the odor of decaying flesh to attract pollinators.

💚Carnivorous Girls Line 4/6: Trumpet Pitcher Plant (Sarracenia) 💚Indigenous to temparate South-Eastern USA, the plant grows trumpet-like vertical pitchers to trap prey. Insects are attracted to the color & scent of the upper leaves, & are then drowned & digested.

A genus of carnivorous plant occuring in tropics from Madagascar to South Asia, most commonly in Sumatra & Phillippines. Grows pitcher-like leaves that fill with fluid, used to drown prey which is absorbed.

💕Happy New Year from Beamie's Buddies!💕

Somehow it's 2025 now, the last year really went by!

It was a quieter year for me here outwardly, but there was a tonne of behind the scenes work I was able to accomplish this year. The Website has been a dream of mine forever and I finally got it running, with the online shop to open up soon. I never thought I'd be able to do it myself but I'm happy it exists now! I was also able to revamp my logos/marketing/stationary and order forms/process. All this means that in the years to come, my general process should be a lot more streamlined!

The biggest thing project-wise was the starting of my own original dolls in the fall...which I intended to show off and have for sale before the holiday season, but our postal service here in Canada went on a long strike, so I deemed it best to hold off until the new year. I also decided not to do Xmas commissions this year due to scheduling reasons, but it turned out to be for the better because of the strike!

Going forward, this is the plan for early 2025!

opening commissions for the late winter/early spring! (Early Jan)

posting my completed New Dolls (throughout Jan)

having those dolls for sale / debuting the new shop (late Jan/Early Feb)

working on more original dolls & commissions! (Feb +)

still toying with this idea, but Im thinking of making some Beamie's Buddies pins/buttons/stationary merch. might think about that into the spring/summer though!

Thank you all for sticking with me through all these years, and especially this year with the gaps between projects/info. I'm really happy to have gotten a lot of "business housecleaning" done in the background, which will hopefully mean I will have more mental energy for more/smoother output!

Web Update #3: Final Gallery Section & Commission Updates!

Hello all! Happy Fall! 🍂🍁☕🍄🌰

As the cooler weather approaches, it’s time to bring my big website gallery overhaul to a close with the final (for now) section- the Passion Projects Section! Here I’ve documented 3 of my bigger projects (including my most recent doll of Mr. Dream).

With that section, my Archive Gallery is more or less complete! As I make more dolls going forward, I will update the galleries from time to time. Follow me on IG and/or Tumblr to see the most recent creations!

Now for the big one- Commission Updates!

As longtime BB fans know, I’ve been opening commissions on a bi-yearly basis, to give myself the summer to finish my own projects (or even -gasp- have other hobbies!) This year, the summer has been focused on beamiesbuddies.com, as well as working on my first new line of original dolls (which I PROMISE I will start sharing soon!)

The summer was also full of activity lifewise for me, most good & some not so much. As such, I’m a little behind where I wanted to be at this time, & more than a little burnt out. I wanted to open up commissions this month for the upcoming holiday season, but being realistic, I don’t think I would be able to deliver my best work with so much still going on/needing finishing. (One of the things needing doing is the shop on this website, after all!)

Therefore: I will be opening commissions as of January 2025, for the winter season. Big apologies to those who wanted to commission me for Xmas gifts & such, but this will allow me to get a good head start on my ready-made dolls & hopefully have them up by late fall in time for holiday gift purchasing time. So you may not get a personalized character, but you could have another very cool original themed doll ;)

November 1st I will be opening up slots for the January commissions, which I will announce at that time. So, if you wanted to grab a gift for a friend, maybe you can give them the gift of a Beamie’s Buddies Custom Commission Slot? 👀

I can’t wait to share my upcoming dolls with you as I think they are looking super cute & I have so many ideas for future ones. In all my years I have never really gotten to let my imagination go & make my own characters, I feel like I’m unlocking new potential as a doll artist.
