really awesome how easy it is for tme queers to be uwu smol beans "cartoons can be for adults too!", but if ur tma engaging in childish interests and behaviors, or even simply showing too much weakness, can end up with you getting called a pedophile
true power comes to those who wear the pencil skirt without tucking
TRUTH NUKE...
walkable cities also means sittable cities send tweet
some people are responding to this like its a joke and im going to assume u are the type of people to say "its only a 3 minute walk" when i tell them the nearest bench is too far away
also anyone who thinks "3 minutes isnt THAT bad" you will be old one day. and you will wish the bench was closer
walkable cities also means cities with free accessible public bathrooms whilst we're at it

Black excellence is real. Young, gifted and black is real.
Black people not owing you excellence in exchange for decency is realer.
Black owned business, Black Wall Street and moving yo mama out the hood are all real. Young Black and rich is real.
Black people don't owe white people capitalism in exchange for being understood and championed. 💯
The decision to shoot in Moroccan-occupied Western Sahara, where the Indigenous people can’t tell their stories without fear of imprisonment
The simple act of holding a camera in my homeland of Western Sahara can be a crime. When Sahrawi film-makers and journalists attempt to document everyday life under Moroccan occupation, they can often end up in prison cells. For the Moroccan regime, a camera in the hands of a Sahrawi threatens its official narrative that Western Sahara is part of Morocco. In contrast, when celebrated international names in the film industry wish to capture an ideal picture for an epic journey, and decide that our land is exotic enough to shoot the desired scenes, they are welcomed, escorted and granted access by the same authorities that usually deny us that right. [...] Nolan’s choice to film in an occupied territory highlights the extractivist practices embedded in the western film industry. Western cinema has often been complicit in mining stories and immaterial culture from the global south at a scale no smaller than the material resources mined by the western colonial industrial complex. International film crews parachute in, shoot our faces, clothing, dunes and material culture, then fly off. For them, it seems we are simply decorative elements for their sets and back in New York, London or Paris, they gain prestige, box-office returns and awards. For Nolan’s Dakhla shoot, he appears to have neither sought our consent nor considered the ethics of in effect helping to prop up and legitimise Morocco’s occupation, thus making the space even more unsafe for Sahrawis living under it. He is actively participating in a state-sponsored PR campaign designed to legitimise an illegal occupation.

If you have an utmost inability to discuss transfems as women and adults, I'm blocking you. I don't care. If I never see trans woman on your blog and only girl girl girl girl girl, I'm blocking you. You're 27.
Trans woman: "We are oppressed in unique ways. We have created an intersectional framework to define, describe, and explore the unique axis of oppression trans women and black trans women face: Transmisogyny and transmisogynoir."
Way too many people who don't experience these axies of oppression: "Oh, so you're a hate group? You hate men? You know hating trans men makes you a terf, right? How dare you lump me in with cis men and cis women! That is literally misandry! I'm making up words to combat your hateful bioessentialist slander! TME is just a slur against men!"
oh no guys. . . HUGE what the fuck moment. . . oh my god. . .
zendaya is using a 3 thousand years old Iranian earrings, clearly sourced from the archeological black market, to promote nolan's "odyssey" right after having a private jet fly out to get one (1), singular, dress and only that. . .
i'll repeat: zendaya, an AMERICAN actress, promoting NOLAN'S odyssey, IS WEARING A 3 THOUSAND YEARS OLD IRANIAN EARRINGS to a red carpet
i don't even know how to properly convey how fucking insane and disappointing that is
like i knew to not expect much from the movie, given nolan's blatant disrespect and disregard towards Greece and it's history and traditions, and also the disrespect and disregard towards the tradition of the Odyssey and it's adaptations in itself, the architecture, the clothing, the battle armour, even the ships all either sourced from another culture or just downright being something he callously made up to satisfy his own weird needs
and now this??? specially given the whole political aspect and climate between Iran and United States??? you have THE star of the modern generation, arguably the biggest name in your crew for your younger audience, attending an hours long event with an illegally sourced, housed in ENGLAND even, millennia old artifact that has nothing to do with the story that you are telling and is also from the country hers country is constantly attacking and breaking ceasefire agreement, it's just tone death and crass, and just as bad as when margot robbie wore the Taj Mahal Necklace to promote "WUNTERING HEIGHTS".
had to comment on this wild fucking red carpet stunt, here's an archeologist that is more eloquent with the criticism

From United American Indians of New England:
Lots of settlers are talking about whether it's ok or not to add Trump to the presidential heads at 'Mount Rushmore.'
Guess what? It's not your land.
It's part of the sacred Black Hills that the Lakota have never ceded or sold.
None of those presidential heads should be there defacing Tuŋkášila Šákpe (6 Grandfathers) aka Mt. Rushmore.

Come, you simply must meet my associates! This woman right here is a delightful pervert of sorts, and this fellow here, he’s some kind of a fucking idiot.
It's wild to watch the phrase "tumblr sexyman" morph into "man that tumblr thinks is sexy," because when I first saw the phrase come into use, I always saw it used in reference to the phenomenon of "when presented with a wide array of fictional characters, tumblr will always pick the skinny white man to obsess over, and if the fan-favorite character has no canonical human appearance, the fandom will inevitably create a popular fanon of the character as as a skinny white man."
When I hear "tumblr sexyman," I think of Cecil Night Vale being constantly depicted as a skinny white man instead of literally anything else. I think of the background character white men who get elevated over protagonists that are women, people of color, or otherwise not the white man power fantasy.
"Tumblr sexyman" is, like. An insult. I DON'T want any of my blorbos to win a "tumblr sexyman" poll. "Tumblr sexyman" is the exact opposite of what I want my own OCs to be. If any of my characters ever get called "tumblr sexyman," I will have to immediately re-evaluate myself and the art I'm making.
so can I just say there's a reason I wasn't going on and on for paragraphs underneath transfem voices project submissions about how "monstrous" and "demonic" submitters' abusers were, or how their abuse was "horror movie material"
first of all, TVP was not about centering my feelings about transfems' abusers or what they went through. going on about how disgusted and enraged I felt underneath submissions would have actively detracted from the voices I was trying to center. TVP was not about my voice
second, abusers are not a subhuman class of people. they are often very ordinary people that exist in our lives. even my worst abuser did not abuse me because he was a subhuman monster or a demon. he abused me because he had systemic power over me, and that power went unchecked by any of the people or systems that could have protected me. he was thoroughly, mundanely human
the world is full of TME people who abuse transfems in ways that range from minor to major. I do not believe this means the world is full of subhuman monsters and demons. I believe that it means there are systems and norms that facilitate and enable this abuse. this isn't "rot," it's systems working as designed
