A cold that person A barely notices, but hits B like a train
🏳️⚧️ TRANSGENDER DAY OF VISIBILITY 🏳️⚧️
DON'T LET THE BASTARDS GET YOU DOWN
A very happy Trans Day of Visibility to all of the non-cis members of the snzblr community!! I know there’s been a TON of bullshit this past year, but know that yall are literally the backbone of this community, and that our presence is powerful.
Please feel welcome to reblog and celebrate! 🏳️⚧️
Is it me, or is it deliciously soft when a guy who is normally a literal furnace is fighting off a budding cold, and the thin jacket he always wears suddenly isn't enough, so he's standing outside with his hands deep in his pockets, his shoulders up to his ears, his chin buried in his pitiful collar, looking like he's trying to shrink himself into the coat for warmth.
When one partner has come down with a “case of the sniffles”, which, in turn, gives the other a “case of the worries.”
when a character is preoccupied with hiding a particular sign of illness to the point that they overlook an obvious one and get startled by it being pointed out to them <3
maybe their easily-reddened nose tends to give them away, and so this time they go out of their way to gently dab or hold a tissue to it to stem the flow, only rubbing/pinching when it’s urgent (they need to sneeze but they’re not alone, etc). they’re weirdly proud of the delay they’ve put on their usual tell. it completely slips their mind how they got overheated earlier and loosened their tie considerably, regained some comfort as a result, and went on to never yet fix it. so an inquiry into how they’re feeling catches them off guard — they know it can’t be their nose that gave them away, so, what…? after claiming they’re fine and getting met with a dubious look, curiosity gets the better of them and they ask why they asked. the answer makes them feel silly, and worse yet, the downward glance they take to check their disheveled collar sets their nose off running again.
Not someone snoring through congestion (although that is cute too!) but that whistly sound of breath moving through the tightening constriction of mounting congestion and swollen sinuses.
Especially if it IS in their sleep. ESPECIALLY if it's the thing that tips someone else off to the fact that something is off, whether it be a cold they're coming down with or the pollen count spiking.
Forever obsessed with Character A finding out Character B is sick when B falls asleep against them and at first it's just cute and cuddly but then A realizes they can feel feverish heat radiating from B's face where it's pressed against their shoulder
A character is too ill or injured to really participate with their companions but they've been installed on a sofa or pallet or settee in a common area while group activity goes on around them so they're still party to if not actively a part of it.
How bizarre… Why do I keep finding things like this can’t tiktok leave me alone😭
This has probably been said before, but: someone sneezing so much that when they are passed a box of tissues, they sneeze right into the box.
Everyone else better stay away from that box unless you want to catch that miserable, sneezy cold.
a cold-smitten nose rubbing against/blowing inside the hem of a sweatshirt. they're just...something about it, y'know?
The hot, strict, terrifying professor at the university has a horrific cold, but they don't cancel class and they certainly don't cancel their office hours. A student known among their peers to be the "mom friend", who's always taking care of everyone, has office hours with this professor. Right at the peak of the professor's cold, when their voice is wrecked and they can't get through more than two sentences without sneezing.
The "mom friend" student has to bite their tongue to keep from blessing them (which they hate) and almost literally sit on their hands to keep from offering them tissues (with balm of course) or cough drops from the endless supply of caretaking items they always have with them "just in case"... 😏 But it's so hard to stay neutral when this unflappable professor looks so pitiful and genuinely miserable and no matter how hard they try to be their usual, efficient, stone-faced self, their exhaustion shines through...
The absolutely delicious thought of my fav sneezing, coming up bleary-eyed and sniffly, followed by a quiet, stuffy, "Ugh... I think I'm getting sick."
😍😍😍😍😍
Someone getting ready, all dolled up, ready to go out... when all of a sudden, a tickle starts within the nose. Faintly, at first, but frustrating enough to make the nose run.
After lots of sniffling and nose rubbing back and forth, the person realizes the tickle, now a relentless stubborn itch, won't go away. So instead of fighting against it, the person goes for full release, allowing it to build, with a gentle tilt of the head, lips parting, eyes fluttering and nostrils flaring.
The fit starts. Sneeze after sneeze. Into the hands, the crook of the arm and helplessly into the open. Overwhelmed after the attack, the person looks in the mirror and realizes, tiredly, that a touch up is definitely needed.
A and B are on a long car ride late at night. A is utterly exhausted due to plot reasons, maybe even recovering from a cold, and trying to catch some sleep in the passenger seat. B is trying to drive slow, keep the music turned down low, etc., doing anything and everything to let A sleep easier… when suddenly, they feel a tickle in their nose…
They start rubbing and pinching at their nose furiously. Maybe it’s allergies to whatever they’re driving past, maybe they’re catching A’s cold, maybe it’s just a random itch, they aren’t sure—but they absolutely refuse to let it out and risk waking A with their sneezing. B is sitting there hitching softly, trying their best to hold back the sneezes—it’s definitely going to be a fit at this point, they think with dread—but their breath is catching with utter desperation, and it’s getting more and more difficult to hold back the longer it goes on…
