On a related note: calorie requirements are all bullshit. The alleged 2,000 calories per day? Just short of being pulled out of thin air. A bunch of people were asked to self-report (which is an unreliable scientific method) their calorie intake, and that led to a range from 1,600 to 3,000, and an average of about 2,350 calories per day. The food scientists decided that if they put 2,350 down as their number, people will over eat (why, you may ask? No fucking clue. Vibes and fatphobia, probably), and it was also believed that it wouldn't be applicable to women because their highest report was around 2,200 calories, so they rounded it down to a nice 2,000 calories per day.
So even if you are counting your calories and you think you're eating enough, you're probably not. The suggested calorie intake is marked down by almost 20% of what was reported, and those reported numbers are likely underestimates. And if you're a woman, you might also see 1,800 calories recommended for you instead, which is just fucking you over even more.
All this to say: please eat well, eat healthily, eat more where you can, just eat. Your body needs it.
