Resteraunt servers have the funniest and most surreal workplace stories of any profession. They have the job that mean nurses think they have. The entire world is working against them the entire shift. And then you feel terrible for laughing. Itās not funny that you tripped and spilled an entire ice tea all over a toddler and the kid started screaming at the top of his lungs. Nobody was having a good day, thank God it wasnāt a hot coffee. Thatās not funny. I did laugh so hard tears started rolling down my face when you recounted this mortifying ordeal though.

Conservative beauty standards are back with a vengeance which means it's especially important to go out this summer with bellies out and bodies unshaved. Also be unapologetically disabled with mobility aids and wearable medical devices and stim toys and ear defenders and all that stuff. You need it. People need to see it. Everyone needs to be reminded that life is unquestioningly more enjoyable when you're not living inside an arbitrary set of rules created by people who are offended by all the wrong things.

recently saw this screenshot in the wild and lost my mind because i knew it wasnt supposed to say girl. its ladykins. its get off the cross ladykins. i know this because ladykins is not something my brain could make up and i remember ladykins. and i was sincerely wondering if someone put in the work to censor ladykins for some inscrutable purposes but then i looked it up and
turns out that actually rupaul made the same tweet twice with 1 word changed 8 months apart. he meditated on this for 8 months and 5 days and the word ladykins came to him. i initially thought he copy pasted the first tweet but i dont think thats true anymore i dont think he was operating with any memory of the first tweet i think these words were always in him and will always be. second tweet did way worse by the way. the people did not respond to ladykins
favorite thing in the whole wide world when a story is about how a typically ānegativeā trait is the one essential to saving the day. a character whose anger pushes them further than any of their kinder aspects. someone so stubborn that they cross a finish line no one else could reach. greed that becomes justification to protect people. ruthlessness that gets the job done right. the coward who becomes a hero because they were the only one with the sense not to face something deadly head on. selfishness that keeps you alive.
I love when our āworstā impulses are shown to be as important to who we are and how we handle things as the best parts of us. sometimes you donāt conquer what everyone says is wrong with you; sometimes you learn how to make use of what comes naturally instead of fighting against it.
