JJ let out a huff of amusement, eyes focused on the engine he currently had sprawled over the dining room table. He wasn’t exactly sure how he let Mike Carrera convince him to take a look at the old piece of junk but he had gotten himself this far, he might as well try fix up the old boat engine. 

“Tad dramatic there, Kie,” he muttered, reaching out for a screwdriver somewhere beside him. 

“You underestimate how life-sucking these lunches are,” Kiara grumbled under her breath, the sound of her heels clicking as she made her way from the bedroom towards the dining room of their flat. 

He grinned boyishly. “Want something else to s—“ 

And yet, the words quickly died into some half-hearted noise of acknowledgement as he finally lifted his head to catch a look at her, only for every single coherent thought in his head to disappear. 

Kiara frowned when she caught his expression. “Jay? You good?” 

“I, uh,” he opened his mouth to speak but nothing was coming out because he couldn’t stop staring at her. 

He couldn’t stop staring at the way the dress brushed against her thighs, or the way her legs looked miles long with the heels she was wearing. He couldn’t stop staring at how pretty her lips looked swiped with whatever gloss she put on them, or the way the thin straps rested on her bare shoulders. He couldn’t stop staring at every inch of her because she was so fucking gorgeous, it hurt his brain to even say something.

“JJ?” Kiara took a step forward, hand reaching out to place on his forehead. “You feeling alright?” 

“Yeah, I just…yeah,” he murmured as his hands darted out to pull her closer by the back of her thighs until she stood between his legs. “When are you meeting your folks at the country club?” 

“In like, half an hour or so,” she said as she rested her hands on his shoulders. “Then I can come home and burn this stupid dress.” 

“I mean, you could,” he said before clearing his throat. “Or maybe just keep it around…for a rainy day.” 

Kiara frowned. “A rainy day?” 

“Mhm,” JJ hummed as his thumbs lightly stroked the back of her thighs, his hands slowly moving up. The floral scent of her perfume was making him feel dizzy, like he couldn’t quite think straight. “Just…to wear around the house and stuff.” 

“Fat chance, Maybank,” Kiara grumbled as she batted his hands away. “If you wanna fuck me, then fuck me. But not in this dress.” 

JJ pouted, looking up at her like a wounded puppy. “Why not?” 

“Because I have to go and I know you,” she said with her eyes narrowed slightly. “You’ll make me late.” 

“I can have you out of here in fifteen minutes, tops,” JJ said quickly. 

“I’m not indulging in whatever this dress fetish is,” Kiara scoffed as she made her way towards the door, grabbing her keys. “I don’t need to start buying more of them.” 

“You look really pretty!” JJ called out behind her.

“Thanks, baby, but the answer is still no!”

“Dammit.”

Hey. Where’s that post about how the Stark kids (including Jon) won’t want to fight each other to be King/Queen/Lord/Lady. They’ll all be like, “Nah, I’m good. One of the others can have it.” Asking because – okay, this is obvious, I guess – but today it dawned on me what an intentional House Stark vs. House Targaryen foil that might be. That didn’t fully sink in before, you know?

I already commented but I felt the need to add that it’s interesting that Neither Ned, Jon or Sansa were ever meant to take the seat of their family’s power and it never crossed their mind that they would. If anything they all tried to honor their lost family’s legacy. Ned by fighting to get free from the rule of the mad king and claim justice for his father and Brother, Jon fighting to protect Sansa in honor of her father and Sansa redeclaring independence in honor of Robb. ( who I’m not including I that group only because he knew he was going to inherit WF, not because he was power hungry or anything)
