One of the reasons I've stayed in the dsmp fandom for so long is the huge amount of ao3 fics without romance. Going from dsmp to any other fandom on ao3 is crazy because while 90% of dsmp fics are centered around platonic relationships, most other fandoms seem to have 90% of their fics centered around a romantic one.

Like, in 2023, while only 18 of the top 100 relationships were platonic, 7 of those were dsmp. Even more, the top 2 most popular platonic relationships were dsmp. Then there's the fact that of the 44,000 total fics on ao3 with the "no romantic relationships" tag, 9000 of them have tommy in them. And most writers who write a story without romance don't even use that tag.

Even shows with canon aroace characters have way more romance on ao3; with hazbin hotel, alastor is shipped with someone in almost every single fic. With DBH, even though their relationship is friendly at worst and father-son at best, there are way more hank/connor fics than hank&connor fics. Lastly, I think it's funny how there are almost 500k harry potter fics and only 1000 of them have no romantic relations, which is an insane percentage compared to dsmp.

I don't know. Do you get what I'm saying? No other fandom (that I've found) does it like dsmp. And so while I understand why people have stopped writing them and have been deleting their fics, it does make me sad to lose all these found family and friendship fics that I've lived off of for so long.

First off, NO JUDGEMENT on anybody who hasn't responded publicly yet or ever. I'm posting these because I know the responses made by those who were closer to the situation matter to a lot of people, not to shame anybody for what they did or did not say. Respect boundaries yall.

I only know Eret and jacksepticeye myself, but I looked up the MC Championship list for relevant people to list (Karl, TapL, Antfrost, Sylvee, Michaelmcchill, Aimsey, Mythical Sausage, MaxGGs, hannahxxrose, vGumiho, FireBreathMan, ElaineExe, and highkeyhateme)

Holy crap I know ENTIRELY too much about MCYT now for a former Lovejoy fan who doesn't play Minecraft, but... there it is yall! And before anybody asks, I literally gave up finding a MCYT content creator whose public post was neutral or didn't support Shubble after over 70 twitters and several discords! In fact, EVERYBODY I came across that had any real contact with Wilbur Soot/Gold either said nothing or was supporting Shubble. All Wilbur's mods that I looked up. Every content creator. People affiliated with Lovejoy (even a freaking photographer for goodness sakes!). There were some fans that didn't support Shubble, but I couldn't find a SINGLE PERSON who I could trace back to knowing Wilbur Soot/Gold who WASN'T supporting Shubble. The closest I got was a video where Quackity (after discussing a separate issue) stated that Wilbur was no longer part of the QSMP. And honestly? The fact that I couldn't find someone despite looking through posts for HOURS (I'm sick as hell, bored, and I said I would make a post about it) says a lot in my opinion.
