High Speed-Sync Portraits // Using the Interfit S1 strobe on location

I’m thrilled that Interfit have taken me on as one of their “Sponsored Pros”. I’m really looking forward to working with them on some really cool content in the coming year predominantly using their S1 500w Li-On mono-light and seeing what they can do in real-world shoot situations.

Our first video looks at how I use High Speed Sync on location to create dramatic separation of subject and environment, even in the blustery and generally less than ideal weather conditions you see in the video.

Stu // Personal Work // February 2017

I’ve known Stu for around a decade or so, we met appropriately when he sold me my wine red Epiphone Dot and bonded over a mutual love of hollow body Gibson guitars and the Gallagher brother’s first three records. In the process of needing to test out new strobes (more on that in a later post) and after seeing how Stu and his Fiance Sophie had decked out their amazing’60′s inspired pad with their vintage guitar collection front and center, I knew I wanted to spend some time first drooling and then shooting some portraits with Stu in his natural habitat.

PUMA // In-store Campaign // AW16

Earlier this year Puma commissioned me to shoot an in-store campaign with Liverpool FC and England international, Adam Lallana and now it’s hit the stores i’m finally able to share some of what we got up to. Needless to say I had a phenomenal time working with the Puma team and Adam to pull a variety of setups together for this campaign shoot. Big love as ever to Andy Hughes for assisting/generally ensuring my strobes didn’t take flight from a factory rooftop.

On Roundhay // Official Festival Coverage // September 2016

My festival season has tended to end on the August Bank Holiday weekend, but this year it carried on into September with the inaugural On Roundhay. I was booked to work with legendary promoter Harvey Goldsmith’s production company to shoot some of the official coverage of this incredibly family orientated boutique festival that brought together live music, live cookery demonstrations with top chefs alongside an entire area of the site dedicated to the world of children’s literature.

Leeds Festival // NME // 2016

My third year running of shooting Leeds Festival for the NME and Mother Nature made for the most intrepid of those three, but that’s all part of the task at hand, right? It certainly started to feel like the universe taking with the opposite hand to which only a month prior it had given me four beautiful days in sun-drenched Lisbon whilst shooting Nos Alive. As i’ve mentioned in the past, I will always have a soft spot for Leeds Fest given that it was the very first festival I ever attended (11 years?!) ago.

NOS Alive // NME // July 2016

Earlier in July I had one of my overall nicest festival experiences to date when NME flew me out to shoot NOS Alive festival in Lisbon. Between a pretty much unrivaled festival line-up (Pixies, Arcade Fire, Radiohead but to name the headliners) and some pretty much dictionary definition “idyllic” accommodation, it was hard to say goodbye to Lisbon - I can’t wait to get back and explore the city properly.
