today im thinking about the huge buff bread guy from kikis delivery service. highly underrated guy
Genuinely just a good man. Wife adopts teenage witch that needs a place to stay in the city? Sure. Even though you got a kid on the way? Thatâs fine. Cat too? Love cats.Â
My favorite moment with him is when he goes to get some prepped baking sheets and he does this fancy twirl with them in front of Jiji. Like, thereâs no other people in the room, he does this to impress a cat.
I donât think he ever says more than a whole word the entire movie, and I still love him more than most Disney princes based on this one moment alone.
And the part where he wanted to surprise Kiki by making that beautiful elaborate sign OUT OF BREAD to advertise her business and he was all anxious for her to get home and see it
But then when he sees her coming he gets all bashful and runs away đ
the most underrated thing about the ghibli movies is how deeply they are love stories to working people, to the small folk, to moments of love and kindness. its not just about magic, many movies are about magic and fairytales. Its not only about the people in the stories, but about stories in the people. And they are just loveable.
im having a moment

It wasnât boomers who made it impossible to survive on a librarian or gardenerâs salary - it was rich people.Â
Plenty of boomers work as librarians, teachers, gardeners, and so forth, and are finding that as the cost of living skyrockets and corporations take over more and more of the world, that their salary is no longer able to support them.
And thus you have boomers - who understand how much you want to be a librarian because they also work as librarians - going bankrupt, losing their homes, drowning in debt, and dying because of unaffordable healthcare. And they get why youâre becoming an IT specialist instead of a librarian - because they! Know! That you canât survive! On a librarianâs salary anymore!
On the flip side, the rich people sucking money out of every service and person they can! Arenât! Always! Boomers! Tons of them are Gen X! And an increasing number are millennials! I havenât seen a Gen Z billionaire yet but Iâm willing to bet thereâs a couple by now!
Oh, and itâs not like they âdonât knowâ how much people want to do these sorts of jobs - they do! Thatâs how they justify underpaying people, because itâs your passion, you donât ~need~ to be paid a living wage for your passion.
You have more in common with poor boomers than you do with Kylie Jenner (born 1997). Go and talk to them. Organize with them. Youâll find they have a lot to offer once you stop dismissing them as rich old folks who ruined the economy.
There is always austerity for the vulnerable and unending bailouts/schemes for the corporations to exploit.
genuinely hope to see the fall of christianity as a global power some day in my lifetime
belief on an individual level, whatever that's fine, but do not act as if christianity's influence and doctrine is not a heavy hand behind some of the most evil governmental decisions being wrought upon people at this very moment (anti-trans bills, don't say gay bills, roe vs. wade repeal, etc)
people who are not christian are being forced to live by christian standards and under christian rules and that isn't right
question for any entomologists out there: if bumblebees were of a comparable size to, say, a kitten, would they enjoy resting in my lap while i gently comb their fuzz with a barbie brush? i know that i would enjoy that but i hope they would as well.
hi! as an entomologist who specializes in bumble beesâ my answer is probably yes! many, if not all insects groom themselves as a way to keep clean and to keep their senses sharp, but in societies of insects (specifically bees) we see them groom each other, and colonies of bees who have more allogrooming are typically stronger and healthier! these bees who groom others are integral to the colony, and we see grooming in other social insects like termites as well, specifically in relation to the queen. you might have more luck with a flea comb than a barbie brush, just to really mimic the feeling of them and others grooming it, but i like to think they would enjoy being cleaned and pampered :)
@mattxiv
I really hate those stupids posts that are like:
âWhat about REAL monster girls??? Not just weird humans?? like real huge MONSTERS?? With giant sharp claws and big sharp teeth?? Where are those???â
Youâre thinking of bestiality. You want to fuck a T-Rex.
If it passes the Harkness Test, Iâm down.
For the uninformed:
This isnât an item or even a game mechanic but I think yâall know you need the Harkness Test at some point or another in most campaigns
hereâs my issue with the harkness test
The takeaway here is that Scoobert Doo is a fuckable monster
look, the harkness test isnât whether a monster is ATTRACTIVE, itâs whether fucking the monster is UNETHICAL. âdo I find scooby doo hot?â is a separate question from âIF I find scooby doo hot, would fucking him constitute bestiality?âÂ
questioning myself after making this
Steve Buscemi was in Spy Kids 2??
Thatâs your big takeaway from this post??
#Iâd also argue that scooby has never expressed interest in anyone other than dogs/aliens that look like dogs#like. humans donât pass the harkness test For Him#how absolutely self centered and presumptuous do you have to be. how full of yourself. to just ASSUME youâre good enough for scooby doo?#FUCK you#he has TASTE.

âPublic libraries are such important, lovely places!â Yes but do you GO there. Do you STUDY there. Do you meet friends and get coffee there. Do you borrow the FREE, ZERO SUBSCRIPTION, ZERO TRACKING books, audiobooks, ebooks, and films. Have you checked out their events and schemes. Do you sign up for the low cost courses in ASL or knitting or programming or writing your CV that they probably run. Do you know they probably have myriad of schemes to help low income families. Do you hire their low cost rooms if you need them. Have you joined their social groups. Do you use the FREE COMPUTERS. Do you even know what your library is trying to offer you. Listen, the library shouldnât just exist for you as a nice idea. Thatâs why more libraries shut every year
If this post persuades even one person to get a free library account and use it, my time on this hellsite will not have been spent in vain
the secret to life is to always use more spinach and less rice than you think youâll need
the second secret to life is that fresh air warm sun and a cup of tea will make your problems small enough to start handling
the third secret to life is that violence sometimes really is the answer
