PRIDE AND PREJUDICE (2005) — dr. Joe Wright
I love characters who would die for each other but will not, under any circumstances, communicate a single honest feeling.
"they've had intercourse" "i know that i'm asking if they've kissed"
i think abt this a lot
"it's just stress" oh thank god, it's just the silent killer that slowly kills you, perfectly harmless, no need to worry
I prefer to keep my leverage.
it's come to my attention, that A LOT of you don't understand that soldier boy is just as bad as stormfront, probably worse in all seriousness. I keep seeing shit like "why put him with a nazi?" or "she's a horrible person" so is he my baby. He over-policed black neighborhoods, SO much he ended up killing MM's family. Hosed down civil rights protesters, abused his team so much they sold his ass to the Russians, was bashing gunpowder's head in every chance he got, shot those kids at Kent state, Black noir. He just handed his power-hungry, genocidal, dictator, rapist son, a highly potent serum. HELLO???
This scene kills me, he's such a show pony he can't even say no to Sage taking his picture.
(So cute) Mask on as soon as he sees a camera
It's not even until she's done taking the picture that he realizes that his reaction was completely compulsive
The Boys —5.01, Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite
I will never forget this picture exists lol
I can’t with these two 🤣
#the vibe i bring to the function because i don't wanna be there
TW: opinion
Someone worded this better than I could - the beauty of Antony’s Starr’s portrayal of Homelander is that he had no other performance / interpretation to base it off of.
He had the comics (bad and also different) and a vague “Superman but evil”. He had to (or rather got to) craft the character into his own vision of who Homelander should be, with very little to go off of.
Every choice made is Starr’s interpretation to who Homelander should be.
Kripke even said by season 5 Antony was deciding most of the character moments for Homelander that Kripke had forgotten about - for example it was Antony who added that Homelander would try to impress his dad by drinking bourbon, because at the end of the day Homelander himself is still a child seeking approval. That kind of brilliance was all Starr, with very little influence or direction, at least in the beginning.
It would not be wild to say Antony Starr’s Homelander rivals Heath Ledger’s Joker as the best superhero villain in filmed history. That isn’t to say he *wins* necessarily (obviously it’s hard to compare a 5 season show vs. 1 movie).
But truly - it would not be a far fetched argument.
Ugh he’s so horrible I love him
His crazy ass was soooo pretty
UNGRATEFUL tech companies are saying things like "turn off your ad blocker" and "we need your photo id" instead of "thank you so much for not just pirating our shit, youre so handsome"
