In case people don't understand what is going on in Poland right now it's not only about the fact that a homophobic, ultra conservative, pro life, pedophile apologist won.

We survived 5 years already and we are not delusional.

This is a man who allowed the Polish constitution to be mocked and broken over and over again. He made sure that homophobia is stronger than ever before, encouraged by corrupted national media and his own words. He called LGBT people an ideology worse than communism. A plague. A threat to Polish traditions, culture and families. He also excused the actions of a pedophile. And gave 2 milliard PLN to the television ruled by propaganda instead of people with cancer. I could go on and on, he literally gives us examples of his corruption, hatred and incompetence every day.

But what's more important is that we know that the next election might never happen. Only time will tell, but I can assure you that the current ruling party and freshly re-elected president Duda will do everything in their power to make sure that they will keep the position of power at all costs.

It's not only that a vile, incompetent and full of hatred man won, supported by equally horrible people who don't give a shit about women rights, LGBT people, people of colour, religious minorities, public health and education system, COVID, etc.

No.

The thing is that we know that it might have been our last chance to change something. Because nothing is guaranteed and 5 years is a long time. And we can't be sure that we'll ever have a chance to get a different, better president again. And even if we will... How many of us can afford to stay and fight for better Poland?
