No one knows how much impact a character who goes thru hell but still manages to fight back but not in the basic way like sheer optimism. But like in a way they really do feel every single bit of suffering and trauma, calm themselves down and make the right choice no matter what

Kim soleum is like the voice in my head that always gets drowned out whenever I'm in shambles low-key. But ever since I read gdcg I've been more calmer at handling stressing situations because he gives me hope. Shit genuinely got me thinking "ok but what would Kim soleum do in this situation"

it's always the funniest thing to me when people compare kim dokja with kim soleum cuz especially when looking at their introductions / beginning of the stories sol is genuinely just an infinitely more successful dokja. he's got a decent job, unlike dokja who's a contractor--hell, the guy got employed like 6 times in the ghost story world despite being a self-proclaimed coward, he's stupidly fit (ambidextrous, mentions he can throw proportionate to his body weight?) which isn't really a parallel but it's definitely enviable, and even his hobby he's embarrassed of is incredibly popular (among students mostly, but still better than twsa).
