completely and totally bewildered

my name is rae. i usually have no idea what’s going on. i like puppies, sleeping, knitting, delicious food, going for walks with my dog, blandly inoffensive indie folk music, air travel, project runway, fat babies with rosy cheeks, movies which warm the cockles of your heart, playing old video games, and being a morally upright young professional. i laugh a lot despite the fact that i have a ridiculous and stupid sounding laugh. i love the internet with all my heart. thanks for stopping by.

Victorian Headless Portraits

The Victorian era had many photographs, most of which showed the subject sitting or standing with a stern expression. Since photography was still in its infancy, photographers were experimenting with novel ways to create fun photos that differed from the norm. Animals acting human was one popular concept, and then came the headless portrait. Funny, strange and entertaining, a new genre of photography was born.
