Hey guys, sorry I kinda just disappeared for a week, Iāve been working a lot and Iāve just been drained. I have the day off tomorrow and I donāt start work until later on Thursday so I will definitely be working on the songfic series. Itās gonna be wayyyy too hot outside tomorrow so Iāll spend the day in the air conditioning just working on the series.
Keep an eye out!
Also if you guys want a tag list just let me know! Iām more than happy to start one for new uploads!
Love you lots! Thanks for the patience and the love!
Sorry I havenāt posted or updated in a week, I was finishing up my semester and really just wanted to take my days off to do nothing. Iām home for the weekend and have the next installment of The Great Divide mapped out already, just have to write it.
Thank you all for your patience and love on the series thus far. Im hoping to finish it by the end of the month but we shall see. Keep an eye out on my page for the next few days! Love you all!

Series Masterlist!
Sorry for no upload yesterday, I was completely drained and super anxious all day so I had no energy. Feeling much better today thankfully! Tomorrow is my last exam and then I am done for the semester! I will hopefully be much more active because of that but we'll see how busy I end up actually getting. Thank you all for your patience! Much love!
Enjoy!
They had hit, once again, another rough patch. They were constantly arguing over everything, more specifically the fact Sebastian was more concerned with Anne not improving which he knew she wouldnāt. Y/N would give him the reality of the situation and he threw a fit every single time. It had gotten to the point a few times that they took a break, deciding starting over might work out better for them, however it never did.
āSebastian, I think we need space for a couple days. Weāre constantly arguing over everything, I try to give you the reality of Anneās situation and you refuse to believe it, we need a break,ā Y/N had cut into his argument finally, him having gone off on a tangent that she was wrong, that Anne would get better if only he could find the right cure.
He didnāt say anything for a minute, just walking away rather than agreeing or disagreeing. That night they slept in their own dorms, which they hadnāt done ever, even when they were on previous breaks. She fell asleep quickly, colder than usual but just exhausted from the constant turmoil. Sebastian however, was laying in his own bed, half empty. Taking in the reality of the situation he had put himself in. It had hit him then, that if he continued to be in denial about Anneās condition, he would lose the love of his life.
He spent the rest of the night daydreaming about his girlfriend, finally realizing that he needed to accept the fact that Anne wouldnāt get better, that potions and spells and random elixirs wouldnāt cure her, help, maybe but cure, no. The next morning, he walked into the Great Hall with Ominis, more exhausted than he had ever felt in his entire life. He quickly spotted his girlfriend, sitting with the other Slytherins and nursing a hot cup of tea. She quickly spotted him too, taking notice of his messy hair and the darkness encircling his eyes.Ā
He sat down beside her as he usually did, having a cup of tea himself. āAre you gonna leave me? Or will you be with me when I wake up tomorrow? I finally realized how much I not only hurt myself but also you, and Iām sorry,ā He spoke to her quietly, not because he didnāt want people to hear, but because that was all he had the energy for.Ā
āIām glad you finally realized it, I donāt want to start over every time things get hard, and it pains me to leave. I appreciate your apology,ā She had replied, not giving him an exact answer but he knew deep down that she would be with him in the morning again. That they would finally work through all of the issues that he had caused. He vowed to himself that he would finally let go of the dream of Anne getting better and tend to the dream of Y/N staying in his life. That she would stay with him still rather than leave him.
Summary: The inner machinations of Steve Harringtonās mind, thinking at first his father was an idiot until he realised, for once in his life, his father was right.

Series Masterlist!
I know this one is short, so sorry about that. I am for sure not feeling great. I know that this song is more about being alone but I played more in the togetherness part of the song. I might be able to get something done Saturday but Iām not quite sure yet. Iām writing this on Thursday for a Friday post since I will be incredibly busy all day. Iāll definitely give all of you an update about whatās going on and if there will be a post this weekend or not.
ENJOY!
Something that Steveās dad had always told him is that he would make a living working for the paid time off. At first he didnāt believe his father, he always believed that the man was spewing bullshit every single time he talked. That was until he started working full time and earning his own paid time off. Steve and his girlfriend enjoyed taking PTO together, same days, same weeks, sometimes they even had the freedom to take a month off but that was not only rare but almost impossible to get.
They had a nearly perfect day, acting like teenagers again. Sharing a joint by the old strip mall, that's usually when they had their deepest conversations. āWould you ever leave Hawkins?ā His girlfriend asked him, looking up at him curiously.
āMaybe one day but I donāt think I ever will, would you?ā
āWherever you go, Iām right there with you.ā
That was something that used to scare the shit out of Steve, that she loved so loudly, so boldly, so freely. He never thought heād be capable of that but after a few months, that same love had found its way into him. Some days he thought that this relationship would fail, he was broken and she was seemingly okay. He thought that some days he was like a running car and she was a closed garage, that however, had quickly faded.Ā
He honestly didn't seem to mind working for the paid time off, as long as it was spent with her, acting like teenagers again even though they were both grown adults. He thought she would leave but she never did, she stayed with such patience, love so loud they could probably hear it from outer space. And that is something he would never change, something he never wanted to change.
Summary: Y/N has had nothing but issues during her grieving process, hoping to get one last glimpse of the light Fred had about him, to get her goodbye. She waits and hopes to get what she needs and itās cathartic when she finally does.

ENJOY!
It had been almost a year since Fred had died during the battle of Hogwarts, everything had seemingly gone back to normal. There were days where she was slightly more sad or slightly more happy but she was okay for the most part, after a few months. That was up until she had overheard someone mistelling a story Fred had told her probably 100 times in the duration of their relationship, all the way up until an hour before he was killed.
She tried her best to keep her cool but the longer the story went on, continuously getting butchered, the angrier she got. Eventually the anger boiled over and she had absolutely exploded, cursing out the group telling the story. Pointing out all of the inaccuracies in the story and eventually telling it the exact way Fred used to tell it to her. An hour after that incident, she had broken down, all of the emotions rushing back, the love she felt for the boy, the pain she felt witnessing him get killed right in front of her eyes, the days, weeks, months spent feeling empty. It all came rushing back, over a simple story she had heard a hundred times.
Fred brought a certain light to any room he walked into. If she was having a rough day, all she had to do was be with him for a few minutes, sheād feel a million times better. Since the battle, all she seemed to feel is empty, dark, sad, angry. Any negative emotion one could name, she was feeling it all at the same time, every time. It got worse going through the holidays for the first time, the first birthday without him, reopening the store without him. Everyday seemed to get a little less heavy but days like today, it just felt extra heavy.
Every night she falls asleep, hoping to anyone looking out for her that sheād be able to see him in her dreams, even once. Just something. The days just sorta passed by, blending together, dim as the last, gloomy, melancholy even. The first time she got back to the store since it had reopened, months after the battle, she had overheard some of the regulars talking about Fred, they were saying nothing but nice things, praising the boy's genius along with his twinās.Ā
Every time she had heard anyone mention his name, it felt like she had been thrown into ice, like a dagger had stabbed her right in the heart. The first time was the hardest, having to excuse herself from helping a customer to run upstairs to the apartment they shared before. Thatās when it felt like her world came crashing down, reality had hit. Fred was really gone, he was never going to come back, sheād never see him again.
She spent the next 3 days in the bed they shared, taking in the smell of him that lingered on the mattress. Every time George would come check on her, she was in the same spot, unmoving, more and more tears soaking through the pillows. Eventually it had gotten to the point where she was begging him to wipe her memory, to get rid of the pain she felt, any memory of Fred she had, so she wouldnāt hurt anymore.
George ended up having to call in reinforcements that day, calling his mother, Harry, anyone he could think of that could potentially help. Unfortunately nothing had seemed to help, George finally called in one last person that could potentially help but one he really hated, Draco Malfoy. The main reason he had called Malfoy was for his potioneering. He knew every potion there was and how to make it and made them well. He had brought in one of the potions he believed would help but the girl refused to take it, especially from someone who was fighting on the opposite side, the side that killed the love of her life.
She only took it when George had taken a sip and ended up okay. The weight felt a little less, she was able to go through the motions of the day with typically no issues. Some days were harder than others but she got through them most of the time. She moved out of the flat attached to the shop and moved in with the Weasleyās for the time being, at least until she was able to get back up on her feet. Until she felt like sheād be okay on her own again and the Weasleyās were more than willing to have her there with them. She was part of their family afterall.Ā
She still went to sleep every single night hoping to see Fred one last time, just to finally get to say goodbye, to say one last āI love youā. The day they would have hit their 5 year anniversary, she finally saw him in her dreams. She felt him before she saw him, felt the light move through her, that certain light Fred had about him. She turned and saw the red haired boy, breaking down in tears in her dream, rambling on about how much she misses him, how much she loves him and that all she wanted was to say goodbye, get the closure she never got. Her dream was exactly what she needed, closure.Ā
āI love you endlessly, Y/N, Iāll be here waiting for you, but Iām always with you, no matter what,ā Fred had said right as the girl began to wake up. The moment she opened her eyes the light she felt didnāt leave, it stayed with her. It stayed with her for the rest of her life, up until she took her last breath and they wereĀ reunited at last.
Hey everyone! So this weekend I will likely not be posting anything, I have a scheduled post for tomorrow but nothing after that. I am absolutely exhausted between work, school and my allergies knocking me on my ass. I was going to write something after I got out of class today but I had zero energy. I'll try to get something done tomorrow so there's a post for the weekend but I'm not quite sure yet. I'll be with my boyfriend all weekend on top of work and studying for my final.
On another note, I'm considering rewriting my Snape series and my Theo series, I know a lot of people loved both of them even though I only got a chapter in on my Theo series. Definitely after The Great Divide is complete or at least nearly complete.
If you guys have any suggestions please feel free to send me a message.
Summary: Theo and Y/N were in a slightly more tumultuous relationship than either of them had expected. Theo was always angry at something or someone, they promised each other one last day together before they were strangers in the morning.
Series Masterlist!
Warnings: Fem reader, use of Y/N, foul language, brief mention of Theoās upbringing, Theo lacks emotional intelligence

These fics are flowing out of me like crazy, I wrote like 3 of them today and I'll probably write a few more the day this goes up. I schedule my posts so its more consistent on my blog rather than a random spam the silence for a few days. Hope you all enjoy!
ENJOY!
Theo was quite always angry at someone or something, whether that be a Gryffindor that pissed him off, or his potion exploding in his face. His friends all thought that eventually heād mellow out once he started dating one of the nicest and calmest Slytherins but that obviously didnāt happen. Instead he seemed angrier than normal, any little thing seemed to set him off. His slightly cold breakfast made him angry for 3 days, he was fine for a few hours but Pansy ended up pissing him off eventually which put him right back into a bad mood.
Y/N was getting very tired of always having to deal with him being angry at something, nothing she did seemed to calm the Italian boy down. It had gotten to a point where she couldnāt tell if he was angry or if he was joking. She knew deep down that this relationship was sinking and nothing would stop that. Theo seemed to notice this as well.
After 2 years of their relationship, they realized it must come to an end, theyād be better off without one another, really sheād be better off without him. Of course them saying this out loud hurt more than anything but it was desperately needed to be said. Theo had asked one more day of her, he promised to keep his temper down so they could enjoy one last day as a couple. She happily agreed, thinking that it would be better for the both of them if they had ended things on a high note rather than a sour ending.
āYou know you always state your feelings like a fact, why is that?ā Theo asked her as they were walking through the gardens late in the evening, neither of them wanting the day to end but knowing it needed to at some point.
āI know exactly how I feel most of the time, to me, itās a fact. I know what Iām feeling and Iām not afraid to make it known,ā She explained simply.
āI envy that about you, amore. I have never been able to feel anything other than anger.ā
āI know, Theo. I mean you didnāt have a great childhood, schoolās been rough. I donāt blame you for being angry all the time but I honestly canāt be with someone who is angry all the time. It brings my mood down and then I feel like Iām walking on eggshells around you.ā
āIāve never once been angry at you or with you for everything. Iām sorry for everything Iāve put you through these last few years. It wasnāt fair to you,ā Theo had stopped walking, Y/N following suit, turning to face the boy. Tears were welling up in her eyes knowing that this was the end, that the boy she loved so so deeply needed to be alone to figure himself out, to get his anger sorted.
āI know, I knew you never have been angry with me and I really deeply love you. It just sucks that this is ending, you know? Like we had just spent 2 years together but it feels like nothing has changed. I know this is for the better, but it still hurts.ā
āIt hurts me too, amore. Maybe once I get myself together we can try again, that whole right person wrong time thing youāve talked about before?ā
āI like the sound of that.ā
āI do too. But after tonight, weāll be strangers in the morning, just for now until I get myself figured out. I promise you amore, I will get better and we will try again and be better than ever before. Iām sorry I didnāt try to help myself sooner,ā Theo now had tears in his eyes, gently streaming down his cheeks.
āOne last kiss, until next time?ā He asked her, his voice slightly more hoarse than usual. She happily obliged his request, kissing the boy deeply, one last farewell. He walked her back to her dorm, planting a kiss on his cheek as a thank you. He had turned to walk away.
āHey Theo?ā He quickly turned around to face her again.
āYes Y/N?ā
āCall me when it goes to shit, okay?ā
He let out a watery chuckle, as did she, nodding his head because he couldnāt seem to find his voice. He waited until she closed her dorm door before heading to his own. They were officially strangers, until next time.
This one kinda just flowed out of me so I hope you all enjoy! I have a full list of the pairings for the songfic series here. Feel free to let me know what you all think!
Pairings: Adopted!Wheeler!Reader x Wheeler Family
Summary: Y/N was really getting tired of dropping everything and driving 12 hours back to Hawkins any time her family had issues. Her last time coming back really showed her she should have never done it in the first place, telling her family exactly what was on her mind before leaving again, for good this time.
Series Masterlist!
Warnings: Use of Y/N, fem reader, Poor family relationship, swearing, Ted is an ass, Karen has no backbone, Mike is a little shit, familial fighting/distress

ENJOY
Y/N Wheeler had always had a tumultuous relationship with her family. Being not only adopted but also the oldest, she was expected to play mediator. That was all she seemed to be to her family, so as soon as she could, she left Hawkins and never thought sheād look back. After all of the Upside Down stuff was over she left for New York City, the city that never sleeps. She got a decent job working as an assistant for a big law firm, she had a cushy job, a nice apartment, a few friends and for once she had freedom. Until one morning she received a call from her little brother.
āWell hello Mike, whatās up kid?ā She asked him casually as she continued to make herself dinner.
āItās getting bad again, mom and dad are constantly arguing, dadās going off on these rants like heās some kind of prophet,ā He explained, keeping his voice quiet to avoid the others in the house from hearing him.
āYou just have to ignore it, it sucks yeah but really itāll end eventually. And when dad goes on his rants, just nod your head at him, heāll stop soon enough once he realizes youāre not actually interested.ā
āCan you come home? Please?ā
āMike I-ā
āY/N come on! Youāve been gone for 2 years now, everytime I ask you to come home you do, why not now?ā Mike cut into her sentence, throwing her saying no right back into her face. The girl on the other end of the line sighed heavily, this was the main reason she left in the first place.
āMike, I canāt get off of work. Joe has a really big case and he needs me to help, Iām on track to becoming a paralegal, I canāt just leave so I can mediate mom and dad,ā She tried explaining to her little brother. The boy groaned on the other end, having none of her excuses.
āWhat am I gonna do here then, huh? Itās just me and Holly home now, you left, Nancy left. Both of you left us to deal with mom and dad and the one time I ask you to come home, you suddenly canāt?ā He was picking a fight, one she really didnāt want to have but she also didnāt have the heart to just hang up the phone on her little brother.
āI canāt always fix everything in the house, Mike. Especially when Iām hours away. Look, once this trial is over, Iāll come home for a few days, help you out but honestly Mike, this is the last time Iām coming home until the holidays. I need to focus on myself, my career. Iām serious,ā She tried to level with the teenager who just laughed at her.
āIāll believe it until the next time I ask you to come home before the holidays and you do.ā
That was when she hung up the phone, picking it right back up and dialling Joe. āJoe Smithās office, how may I help you?ā
āHey Alice, itās Y/N, is Joe in?ā
āYeah hang on, let me get him on the line for you.ā
āY/N? Is everything okay?ā She heard her boss ask her, concern laced in his tone.
āNot really, my brother just called me to see if I can come home for a couple days, I know we have that big trial coming up though. I just wanted to see what I can do here because Iām at a loss,ā She briefly explained her situation to the man.
āYou still have the files and articles right?ā
āYes, theyāre right in front of me on the counter.ā
āOkay good, hereās what we can do, the trial got pushed back by a couple weeks so take those articles and documents with you. Go see your family kid, just make sure youāre back before the trial.ā
āYes sir, I will be back before then, Iām not planning on being there long, I left Indiana for a reason.ā
āYou have a good head on your shoulders, Y/N. I can see you being a lawyer and not just a lawyer but the best of the best. Youāre strong, kid, Iāll see you when you get back," her boss told her.
āThank you Joe, I really appreciate it. Iāll be back in a week, hopefully less.ā
With that, she hung up the phone once more, eating her dinner as she went to her room to begin packing. Anger filled her the more she continued to pack, to the point where she was angrily shoving clothes into a duffel bag, shoving in her toiletries and eventually zipping up the bag. She quickly washed her dishes, made sure everything that needed to be off was turned off before grabbing her keys and heading out. She got into her beat up Chevy and headed towards Indiana. She spent 12 hours in the car, heading towards the place she left for a reason. The place she hated being in, the place that brought back nothing but bad memories.
Sheād only do it for her younger siblings, Nancy however would never do the same, the girl left and never looked back, she really shouldāve taken that advice from her younger sister. She felt stupid for making the drive back home but she was the only one who could mediate and get their parents to stop fighting. She thought about every reason to not come back again as she entered the town of Hawkins. Pulling into the driveway as dawn hit, it seemed peaceful now but the second she got into the house, she knew it would turn sour.
She unlocked the front door and made her way in, all of the fights, arguments and screaming matches flooded her memories. She did her best to push them back as she walked into the kitchen, already hearing her parents bickering. Her parents didnāt even notice her at first, her brother saw her but didnāt acknowledge her, just smirked and turned back to his breakfast. Holly seemed to be the only one who was happy to see her, running up to her big sister and squeezing her tightly.
āY/N! I missed you!ā Holly exclaimed.
āI missed you too, Holly. You grew so much since the last time I saw you,ā Y/N had pointed out to her little sister, squeezing her right back.
āMaybe if you didnāt move to New York youād see her grow yourself,ā Ted grunted, stopping the bickering with his wife to rag on his eldest daughter.
āAnd what are you doing with your life dad? Oh thatās right, nothing since you got laid off. I have a career, I got into law school, Iām working on one of the biggest cases New York City has ever seen and yet here you are, still fighting with mom in an unhappy marriage,ā She bit back at the man.
āDonāt talk to your father like that young lady!ā Karen scolded her daughter.
āWell I wouldnāt talk to this loser like that if I wasnāt constantly getting calls from your son about coming home to mediate your arguments. I have a career, Iām doing something with my life yet I still drop everything to come home and deal with the shit dad gives me and you yelling at me for giving it right back.ā
āMichael, what did I tell you about calling her home?ā
āTo stop doing it, but I wouldnāt have to if you guys would just, I donāt know, divorce, go to therapy, stop fighting,ā Mike had a sneer on his face, clearly unhappy for being thrown under the bus.
āMike, donāt talk to mom like that please. Itās not her fault, itās his. So dad, hereās what youāre gonna do. Youāre gonna get off of your ass, find a job and stop picking fights with the wall. And mom, when he starts to pick fights, walk away, tell him to fuck off, something. I canāt keep driving 12 hours here and 12 back home just because you guys are fighting again. And Mike, you need to put on your big boy pants and learn how to do this yourself because I was serious about this being the last time Iām coming here to do this, Joe can only give me so many days off to come here to fix this,ā She ranted to her family.
āHow long are you gonna be here for?ā Ted asked, not really interested in actually knowing.
āSeriously? Did you listen to a singular thing I said? For fuckās sake Ted! Look Iām not staying here, Iām gonna find somewhere to sleep that isnāt here and Iām leaving tomorrow.ā
With that she left the house she grew up in, it had hit her then that this really is the last time she's coming back, she couldnāt fix it anymore. She got back into her beat up Chevy, starting the engine and reversing out of the driveway for the last time. It was like a weight had lifted off of her shoulders, she didnāt have to deal with her parents' bullshit anymore, or Mike taking the easy way out and refusing to figure things out himself. She drove into the sunrise, the sun blinding her before she slipped on her old pair of Ray-Bans. She found a safe spot to sleep for a while, before getting back on the road and heading to her true home, New York City.
So The Great Divide series is already moving along pretty well, I have the first 4 written, 2 of them are up now already and the other 2 will be coming out on the 5th and then the 6th. I'm gonna try to schedule posts for every day but there might be a little gap here and there.
I will also be fixing up my masterlist and making it a little more appealing as well as updated so keep an eye out for that. I might just delete the entire masterlist and start new but I'm not quite sure yet.
Heres the link for the series masterlist if you wanted to give it a looksie. I'll try to keep on top of it the best I can as I'm reconstructing my page.
Thank you all for the love you've given the series so far, I know the first 3 have started off Stranger Things related but I can assure you Harry Potter fans that Wednesday will be the first Theo Nott of the series.
More about the series and the pairing for the series here, Main Masterlist!
I don't really have a set upload schedule, it's really just when I have the time to write and the time to post. I have the third fic in my queue which will auto post tomorrow at 8pm EST.

Series Masterlist!
Authorās Note : Fic 2 of 21 is complete! I really hope everyone will enjoy this series, granted it wonāt exactly be the happiest nor the most light hearted but I will try my best to not make it too depressing.Ā
ENJOY!
Steve had always struggled to let people in, harsh parents, awful friends, trauma he didnāt know how to unpack. He wasnāt sure when he started putting up all these walls, maybe when he was younger, pretending sticks in the yard were guns, pointing them at his father only to get yelled at. Nobody had ever tried to get to know him deeper, know the real Steve Harrington, the one that was shoved behind a door that nobody can open. That was until someone decided to knock on said door.
Y/N was a sweet girl, she used to babysit Dustin and the rest of the kids but she remained close to Dustin over the years. Eventually Dustin had introduced her to Steve, granted she knew who he was since they had graduated together but Dustin and the other boys had insisted that he changed a lot. She finally decided to entertain the idea and get to know the Steve Harrington outside of high school and social hierarchy.Ā
The next time that he had everyone over for a game night, she was invited. She had a feeling as to what she was getting herself into, at least until Steve had opened the door with a wide smile on his face. After that game night, their relationship grew, eventually dating after a few weeks of dancing around their feelings for one another. She knew there was more to Steve that he was too scared to show anyone but if anyone was going to get to that part of Steve it was her.
The first time she had stayed the night, he had been screaming in his sleep, she woke up frightened but realized what was happening. She had gently woken him up, offered up comfort which he gladly took and stayed up until he was peacefully sleeping once again. After this instance though, Steve had been giving her many reasons to leave him. That he was too difficult to deal with, he had a lot of issues to unpack, that sheād be better off without him but she was not having any of that.Ā
Slowly she had started knocking on that door the true Steve Harrington was hiding behind. And even slower, that true Steve Harrington was coming out. He opened up to her more, told her how shitty his father truly is, that he was always alone because his mother couldnāt trust his father, how he was the way he was in high school because his parents pressured him to be a successful athlete rather than student. That he would be better off alone or only with a trophy wife like his mother was.
He hated every part of it, he didnāt want to be anything like his parents. He wanted to be a million times better than they were. Changed his career path, his habits, his attitude all for that reason. He was the most liked teacher in all of Hawkins and not only that but also one of the best coaches the school had seen in years. His life turned out much better than he could have ever expected.
He still had moments where that door was shut tight and locked up, but all it takes for it to open up is a simple little knock from the love of his life and the door is wide open. Thereās still times where he jumps at the rattle of her keys, expecting her to leave him for good when in reality sheās just getting ready to leave for work or run to the store. His doors were null and void when it came to her because she was the one. The shiny diamond ring in his nightstand proved that to him, that she was the one and he was in fact loveable. That he was nothing like his parents and that there was no reason to lock the true Steve Harrington behind a door.
As I stated in a previous post, I am working on a series based off of the new Noah Kahan album, it really got my creativity flowing. I will ask that you all be patient with me once again, I know the last time that I said that I was gone for a year and a half but I don't plan on going on a hiatus again anytime soon. I am still in school at the moment but my semester is over next week thankfully so I'll have more time to write.
Thank you all for your continued patience! I'm looking forward to all of you reading my stuff again!
I will try to make a masterlist for the series at some point as well as a set upload schedule but I'm planning on trying to post daily, I already have my next one in the queue ready to go. if I finish American Cars today I'll upload Doors tonight rather than tomorrow.

Authorās Note: First fic back after a year and a half hiatus but this feels good! Also the first fic in my songfic series based on The Great Divide. Iām excited to be back and writing again, might work more the night Iām writing this one or the next day after I get home from class but Iām not sure yet, finals are coming up so bear with me.
ENJOY!
Eddie had been gone for a few months, the āearthquakeā had rattled the town and simply everything felt like it had gone to shit. The crawls were amounting to nothing, Dustin was an angsty asshole lately and Y/N, well she was struggling. She tried to hide it from everyone, she was doing well for a while but everything came crashing towards the end of August. That was the point where everyone figured it out that she simply was not okay.
She had been staying with Steve since his parents had split town after the āearthquakeā. Sheād rather be with him than by herself in the trailer that she had once shared with Eddie and Wayne. The trailer ended up getting demolished after Wayne split town and stopped paying for it. The last thing that was saved was a magnet, this magnet however, was special, at least to her. It was a simple black framed fridge magnet with a polaroid of her and Eddie on their anniversary. They looked so happy, big smiles stretching across their faces, limbs all crossed and tangled, absolute chaos but that was Eddie and she loved every moment of it.Ā
She took the frame off when she had saved it and carried the photo with her every single day as her good luck charm. Her good luck had seemed to run out as the last crawl ended. Yet another unsuccessful crawl to end the month. She had been seething since witnessing the love of her life die right in front of her all because of Vecna. This last failed crawl was the straw that broke the camel's back.
She had to get out of the WSQK basement and get air, go somewhere other than that god forsaken basement. She decided to retreat to the treeline, the first tree she found was the one she punched the hardest, to get some sort of feeling other than grief. Her hand began dripping blood as she sank to the dirt in tears, strangled sobs passing her lips as she cradled her now bleeding and throbbing hand. All of the group's heads turned and followed her as she stormed out, nobody moved for a few minutes, all understanding what she was feeling and that she needed space for those few minutes. Dustin was the first to speak up, breaking the tense silence.
āMaybe I should go talk to her,ā he theorized.
āI donāt think you should go, Iāll go talk to her, sheāll feel more comfortable with me,ā Steve had objected. The group all hummed in agreement so he went upstairs and out the doors to search for the grieving girl. It took him a few minutes, but eventually he found her. Sitting against a tree a few hundred feet from the main building. He carefully made his way over, sitting next to her quietly.
She was just sitting there, silent tears running down her cheeks, blood dripping from her knuckles and palms, evidently punching the tree they were leaning against at some point in time.
āYou wanna talk about it?ā
āTalk about what Steve? Iām fine, just frustrated is all,ā She responded blankly.
āThereās more to it, I know that and you know that. You canāt just bottle up all of your emotions and rely on weed and booze to make you feel better.ā
āMakes me forget for a bit that heās gone, the longer Iām sober the harder life gets, the more I realize that everything dies, that he died all because of that fucking Vecna asshole. This whole town has gone to shit, Dustin is being an asshole and everyone is looking at me like Iām gonna fucking break if they say the wrong thing so they just donāt talk. Like whatās the point Steve? These crawls are useless, Vecna is nowhere to be found, Eddie is de-ā She cut her own rant off with a heavy and broken sob, āThe love of my life is fucking gone, dead. Watched it happen and there was nothing I could do. Would you stay sober if that happened to you?ā
āProbably not and I know that the crawls have been coming up empty but weāll find something, we will. Weāll kill the bastard and get justice for Eddie. As for Dustin, I honestly am at a loss with him,ā Steve replied, glad she was finally getting some of her pent up emotions out, āAlso, what did the tree do to you, huh? The poor thing is just growing here.ā
His joke managed to get a watery chuckle out of her. āI needed something to hit, first thing I saw.ā The two sat in silence for a few minutes, Steve giving her a quiet comfort that she had desperately needed. āThank you.ā
āWhat for?ā
āBeing here, letting me talk, not being scared to tell me what I need to hear. Youāre like the big brother I never had, so thank you.ā
āAnytime kid, now letās go get that hand patched up before you get an infection and we need to chop it off.ā
Steve felt good when he heard a genuine laugh fall from her lips, easing his mind slightly about the girl. The end of August was tough but he knew sheād get through it, as long as they had each other, theyād be okay, theyād get through it. Y/N had felt like a weight had lifted, like she can do this sober. She had plenty of people that were willing to help her out, listen when she needed someone to, or someone to give her tough love when she needed it most. As August came to a close, all the remaining bugs dying off, everything settled slightly, it felt lighter almost. She had come to terms that everything has to die at some point, some sooner than others but that was the unfortunate part of life. She felt alive, for the first time in what had felt like forever.
So if you haven't seen my return post, I'm finally coming back to writing and have officially started a series. It's a songfic series based off of The Great Divide by Noah Kahan, every song including the ones off of the last of the bugs edition will be getting it's own fic attached to it. This will likely be a sad series so prepare yourselves for that. Each song will have a completely separate universe if that makes sense. Example being starting off with Eddie for End of August, then a few fics later for Downfall will be Fred Weasley. I'm considering making a couple of them for the same character kinda connect but it'll depend on the vibes of the fics. I will upload the list once I have it all squared away and ready to go!
Thank you all for the continued patience with me and I apologize for taking that long of a break, it was much needed though.
Hi everyone! So I know its been over a year since I last posted anything, I was in an absolutely awful slump and I decided to go back to school on top of that. My life has changed quite a bit in the last year and a half, the best way possible. I am planning on returning to writing however, the new Noah Kahan album has my creative juices flowing, plus my semester is over in a week so I'll have a little more free time. I've missed writing so much so I'm excited to come back to it. I've also missed posting for all of you as well as sharing my work with all of you!
Keep an eye out for new posts on my page! Again I've missed all of you and I hope whatever I put out you'll all enjoy!
See you real soon!
