"Sunburn will give you skin cancer"
Ra, God of the Sun
Fungus has done so much for humanity. Penicillin. Radiation cleanup. Delicious mushrooms. Deadly mushrooms. Psychadelic mushrooms. And now my boy RA has chosen the humble mold spores as his vessel through which to cure cancer.
John Salt (British, 1937-2021), Black Ford in Field, 1972. Oil on canvas, 48 x 72 in.
Looked up the artist and this is just all he did for decades. Unbelievably realistic paintings of broken down cars parked on roadsides. They're made by projecting photos onto the canvas and using an airbrush and stencils to carefully reproduce the image without any brushstrokes. Some of his paintings would take years to complete.

RIGHT ANSWER
anyway tmi do you guys wanna hear a medical malpractice™ I learned happened to me about a month ago
Smallest gore(?) warning. A very summarized version of what happened:
Nurse: says here you got an implant in your arm 5 years ago
Me: yeah the doctor said I wouldn't have to come back in 5 years to get it taken out
Nurse: it expired 2 years ago.
Me:
Nurse: it expired 2 years ago. I understand you did not come here for this but we need to get that removed. today. like right now.
Me: oh :( well i didnt mentally prep for the pain but if you give me a few minutes I'll be ready
Nurse: ....what do you mean 'pain'. We give you a shot. You're supposed to be numb
Me: uh last time I had this happen he took out the old one without that. He did it in under three minutes, he pulled it out and showed it to me, it had arm tissue still attached to it. One nurse held my arm down while he did it and I had to lay on the floor in tears afterwards. That's how it's always been
Nurse:
anyway im doing much better now and my new nurse is literally the best.

I just like the story behind this. On one hand, one piece of misinformation can easily be accepted as fact if it looks appealing enough. Raccoon skulls look more like what you would expect of an animal skull. Instead of the reality where wolf skulls are actually kind of ugly from the front. But this design is made unintentionally far greater because of this. These tattoos were all found under the #wolfskulltattoo tag on instagram
Nah man that's a northern bobwhite
I love Bruce
I wanted to see if I could find out what happened with Bruce and while I DID fail I also found the original post with this incredible third image
Such concern
When I was drunk one night and watching the Jellyfish livestream, I reached out to the Monterey Bay Aquarium with a dumb question about their jellyfish... And they actually emailed me back.
(yes, these are actually my own screenshots, I am in tears laughing)
DO YOUR ANIMAL EXPERTS HAVE TO UNTANGLE THE JELLYFISH
AND THE ANSWER IS FUCKING YES, THE JELLIES GET TANGLED SOMETIMES LMAO
First pic:
Category: Animals
Message (Required): Dear Monterey Bay Aquarium, My name is [censored for privacy] and I love watching your jelly cam libestream on Youtube. But I have a strange question, do the jellyfish sometimes get their ribbons/tendrils tangled with each other? They're so long and flowy, I can imagine them getting tied to each other accidentally. Does that happen? And if so, do your animal experts have to untangle the jellyfish? Thank you for your time.

Hello, [censored for privacy]
Thank you for reaching out!
It is completely normal for jellies to get tangled. This is perhaps a little more commonly on exhibit since it is much easier for them to get tangled with one another.
Just as the water motion causes entanglement, water motion is a also what helps them get untangled! When this happens on exhibit, our animal care staff will use an acrylic rod to gently agitate the water (not the jellies) to encourage some detangling.
Our jelly team also carefully monitors the capacity of the exhibits. Jellies with longer tentacles are fewer in number on exhibit. In a way, there is a set "capacity" for each jelly exhibit to limit the chances of the tangles becoming too intense.
We hope this information helps! Feel free to reply to this email if you have any additional questions and we would be happy to assist.
Thank you once again for your continued support by tuning in to our webcams!
