It might take a year, it might take a day, but if Allah has willed it, it will always find its way.
The companions of the Prophet (pbuh) were noted to be happy during times of hardship because they patiently awaited faraj, or the overcoming of their struggles. And they were aware of the ahadeeth of the Prophet (pbuh) noting that those who are patient will get the greatest rewards in the end. That whoever Allah wants good for them will be put through tests and difficulties like diamonds or metal that have to be made pure. (Bukhari) So not only were they were patient, no matter how hard things got for them, but they were happy, excited for what was to come.
If you’re going through something, if you’re silently agonizing, if you’re hurting, if you’re sad, scared, or nervous. Allah knows it. And He’ll bring about for you better days and a reward in a much greater magnitude than whatever it is that you are facing. Just keep pushing through, and know that everyone faces times of adversity.
Grow more patient Grow more loving Grow more forgiving In other words Never grow up.
Whoever walks with his brother, to help fulfill a need of his, every step taken will be sadaqah.
Abullah Ibn Abbas (radiallahu’anhu) [Jaami Al-Uloom P. 470] (via sayingsofthesalaf)
How beautiful is it to be unknown to the rest of the world but be known to Allah.
You know, it’s weird how the people that try to make everyone happy are usually the most broken of them all.

It happens to everyone as they grow up. You find out who you are and what you want, and then you realize that people you’ve known forever don’t see things the way you do. So you keep the wonderful memories, but find yourself moving on.

If you see beauty in something, don’t wait for others to agree.

How is a heart labelled ‘weak’ when it pumps life through starved veins? How is a skeleton labelled ‘frail’ when it is the frame that holds us in place? How are women labelled ‘delicate’ when they endure a variety of suffering, giving birth to the very people who deem them as feeble? When did violence, brutality, and coarseness become synonymous with strength?

Gain control of your souls through constant self-struggle.

Al-Hasan Al-Basree said:
“They (the Companions) made patience a duty upon themselves and gave it (the dunyaa) a station that was equivalent to that of a rotting carcass, which was not lawful to eat from except in the case of necessity. So they ate from it to an extent that would restore their fitness and preserve their souls and give strength for the day.”
[Al-Hilyah of Aboo Nu’aym 2/138]
This worldly life resembles a passageway, and the hereafter resembles the homeland, and indeed the wishes of pious men are directed towards the homeland..
[Kitaab al-fawaaid p.79]

Nobody in the world, nobody in history, has ever gotten their freedom by appealing to the moral sense of the people who were oppressing them.
