I’ve had it happen when I was talking to someone jumped, tried to explain, and they were like “no no I get it’s because said x and then you thought about y so z obviously” and man that kind’ve shit is why I dont wanna talk to NTs ever again.

@thuriweaver​ and I do that constantly. We’re both ADHD and we jump from thought to thought. Sometimes we even play a game of “Do you know how I got there?” and we trace one another’s thoughts backward, but more often we just roll with whatever thought surfaces next. Even if we don’t know how the other got there, we know there was a path, and we’re willing to pick up the threads wherever they took us. 

Incidentally, she posted this first, and while I walking around looking for my shoes she outlined the example and said “I bet you can figure out the connection without me telling you.” I paused, then said, “Pond, turtles, ninja turtles, Michaelangelo, nunchucks.” It is a perfectly logical thread of thought to an ADHD brain.
