I want to get into gothic literature so bad, but I have no idea where to start

I would actually recommend The Castle of Otranto by Horace Walpole to begin with, because it's the first one that called itself a gothic story. Because it is the first, it doesn't have so much emphasis or framing of the parts that would later on make the gothic genre—but it's relatively short and whimsical, and the girl characters aren't flat stereotypes.

After that, I would actually recommend skipping ahead to Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen, then Carmilla by Sheridan le Fanu.

Then you'll have a better idea if you're more of a Haunted House gothgirl or a Monster Mash gothgirl, or both, or a secret third thing.

If you're into Haunted Houses: The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett and Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë.

If you like Monsters and Magic: Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, Dracula by Bram Stoker.

Secret Third Thing: A Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allan Poe (The Tell-Tale Heart was also a good one), The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux, The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, The Last Man by Mary Shelley.

More contemporary problematic favorites that are also Secret Third Thing and sapphist: Fledgling by Octavia Butler, The Moth Diaries by Rachel Klein, and Picnic at Hanging Rock by Joan Lindsay (but I personally thought the miniseries adaptation improved on it. There's no fixing the dissatisfying ending, though.)

And if you wholeheartedly condone all of the bisexual horrors, everything Anne Rice ever wrote but especially The Vampire Chronicles start with the 1976 book Interview With The Vampire, The Vampire Lestat is on average more entertaining and makes more sense if you read it in chronological order, also The Lives of the Mayfair Witches, if you like southern gothic in the extreme and getting doubly mad at abusive social hierarchies and especially the European flavour of slavery, laissez-faire capitalism and violence against women.

If you are extremely brave, Angela Carter, Shirley Jackson, Gothic Tales by Donatien de Sade, and Juliette for a bisexual woman doing social horrors, because the horror is the new and old social structure and peoples inability to view non men as thinking feeling beings with autonomy, also Juliette gets away with it, because somehow some guy in the 1790s has less hatred for women than the vast majority of the slasher genre.
