to give some entirely bizarre context, nigel farage (extreme cunt) has stepped down from his position as MP for clacton (due to a scandal where he received £5 million from a crypto billionaire that could have been laundered) only to run again so that he can prove people like him. and the only person running against him is count binface. who has been a staple of british politics for many years. and now the british press is forced to interview him seriously while he sits there with his binface.

HI JONNY! As your local Kev I feel it's been far too long since our last pond session, how've you been recently?

oh my gosh yeah it’s been too long! I’m doing alright! School’s out so I’m enjoying some free time! At least until next week. I’m leaving for a pre-college program at an art school. It lasts about a month and I’m gonna be staying campus the whole time! Last week I went to New York for a bit and saw Chess (again) and Proof (mostly for research purposes since my production is in the fall). Went to the Museum of Broadway and did the Sondheim crossword puzzle all by myself like a big boy. And… uh… what else. I’ve been hyperfixating on American Idiot and I’ve been hyperfixating BAD. If it’s not obvious from my new blog theme 💀.

I've been pretty good!! My show for college went amazingly so now I'm moving onto the next project, I actually just got cast as Grover in my theatre's The Lightning Thief and I'm pretty excited since it's my first big musical role. I hope your program goes well, too!

I might've mentioned this but I've actually got plans set up to go to New York for a few days in late July to see Ragtime so I'm excited for that, and I've also fallen pretty bad into a Starkid/Hatchetfield hyperfixation recently (literally just finished showing my boyfriend Black Friday 😭). I've never actually seen American Idiot but funnily enough my friend was talking about it earlier, perhaps I should?

I’m bored and you know what fuck you so here’s historical musicals as people at the neighborhood bbq:

Hamilton: the host of the bbq. Nice enough guy, but won’t shut the fuck up. Everyone likes him, but he insists you make other friends.

Evita: Constantly gossiping about people she hates. For some reason all the stories are from a biased, British point of view.

Come From Away: Life. Of. The. Party. He is dancing. He is singing. He is stealing your grill and jumping in the river. He loves you and you love him.

Chess: We aren't entirely sure he’s the guy we invited. He keeps showing up to these things but he’s completely different every time. We’ve just accepted it at this point.

Assassins: Quiet neighbor standing off to the side with a mini can of coke and a gun. Lectures you about gun safety if you get too close.

Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson: Young guy who won’t stop cracking jokes. Yeah, he’s funny, but it’s getting a bit self aware and depressing. Wont stop talking about how his life sucks in particular.

Suffs: Loud young woman who is bringing politics into every conversation she can. She may be a lesbian and she’s definitely a feminist and she won’t leave you alone.

1776: Hamilton’s father. Old guy. A hoot. Everybody claims to be his friend but very few a actually enjoy his company. He is aware of this and it saddens him greatly.

Newsies: scrappy teen following Suffs about and ranting about his own political issues. The two of them hype each other up and everyone just kind of lets them do their thing.

Cabaret: Older woman who’s a lot of fun to be around and then she gets a bit drunk and starts traumadumping and saying things that make you extremely uncomfortable, but you have to stick around to make sure she’s okay. Floyd Collins: He’s not here he’s stuck in a cave somewhere. Operation Mincemeat: Funny guy who you soon realize has a lot of layers and complexity, but you never really get to delve into that before he goes back to the snack table.

Ragtime: Older guy wasting absolutely no time in telling everyone stories that really bring the mood down. But make no mistake. We love this guy. We protect him at all costs.

Spies Are Forever: Currently going rogue and announcing the discovery of a kidnapping plot over the karaoke machine

Six: She was too cool to be here. Off filming a TikTok at someone else’s party or something

Bonnie & Clyde: sketchy couple who will not separate. Theyre either codependent, coconspirators, or both

Dead Outlaw: the preserved corpse we brought for entertainment

It’s officially been one year since I started assassinsposting, so here’s a redraw of my first post!

I just want to say, thank you so much to all the people I’ve met in the past year through assassins. Y’all are awesome and you all have brightened my life. Love love love you guys, never change!

I think it would be funny to write a murder mystery where not only did every single character involved have an obvious motive to kill this mf, they were actually all attempting to murder him first, but the murder attempts all cancelled each other out all except for one. Two people tried to poison him but the poisons just happen to work as antidotes for each other, and instead of killing him only gave him the shits, and due to having the shits he couldn't go hunting that day like he had planned, foiling the plans of the one who had conditioned his favourite hunting horse to panic and bolt at the cue of a whistle, and the other murder attempt of tampering with his gun so that it would have exploded his whole face off.

The whole mystery isn't about who could have done it or how, but who was the one who got lucky and actually succeeded.

When I was in high school a friend of mine would host murder mystery dinners once or twice a year. They were the kind you could buy as a kit -- I don't even know if they exist anymore -- and everyone was assigned (or chose) a character, then received a booklet of clues to share. The idea was to spend an evening in a one-shot LARP designed like an Agatha Christie novel.

I was a year above most of them at school so they threw a "goodbye" murder mystery for me just before graduation, and about 2/3 of the way through the game we all realized that everyone had at least attempted to kill the victim. The game then shifted from "whodunnit" to "who succeeded in dunninit" which we all felt was not only super fun but above the usual level of narrative complexity for those games.

After we solved it, we discovered that the game wasn't from a kit -- the host had written it herself and meticulously printed out the booklets in replica style of the kits. It was the best going-away party I think I could possibly have had.
