I’m not sure if anyone has done this before, but I haven’t really seen it anywhere, so I’m going to sort them myself. These are just my opinions regarding each main characters. Have fun reading!
She’s seemed like a Gryffindor when you first read about her. Headstrong, brave and extremely fearless when it comes to doing things she thinks are right. She speaks her mind without doubts and hesitance and often are too blinded by her own opinions that she wouldn’t listen. However, Rose is a Slytherin. Her motivation to fight and even risk her own life comes from her best friend Lisa and because she’s bonded to Lisa, Rose had taken Lisa as her own, her best friend, her princess. She’s driven to do what’s she’s doing because she wants to protect Lisa, her Lisa, and that’s a very Slytherin thing to do. It’s hard to sort Rose as she can be equally a Gryffindor and a Slytherin. For instance, the motto that she has been living with is “they come first”, and she proved that motto worthy, and that’s not because Morois are hers, but because it’s the right thing to do. However, she can also be selfish when it comes to people she loves, for instance, Dimitri. She would give up being in school protecting Lisa just so she could do Dimitri a “favor” and kill him. Aside of “abandoning” Lisa, Rose had also used Adrian’s feelings towards her to get some benefits for herself. Her cunningness and resourcefulness just show how much of a Slytherin she is.
There are so many incidents to show that my dear Princess Lisa is a Hufflepuff. In Vampire Academy, she was so desperate to heal the dead animals despite using her magic would cost her a lot. She’s kind at heart, and no one can deny that. The only time when Lisa was viewed as very Slytherin-ish, was when she uses compulsion to get her and her friends out of trouble, which usually she was very reluctant to do so. Aside of that, Lisa always wants to try her best. She wants to learn about spirit, despite couldn’t “walk dreams” like Adrian could, she still tried her best. Whatever she does, she didn’t do it for the fame or reassurance, she did it because she cared. When being nominated as queen, as much as she hated it, she still worked hard and try her best to go into the final round, and that’s what makes her a Hufflepuff. She’s constantly worried if she’s good enough, and she tries to be the best that she could. She has patience when it comes to strangers, although not much acceptance are shown to Jill, however, she’s trying her best. She’s a classic Hufflepuff, but might have changed a little along the series.
Christian is a very complicated character. He has a lot on his mind, but doesn’t seemed to voice them, and mostly, he’s only sweet and warm around Lisa. That’s a Slytherin’s work right there. Christian is particularly fond of Lisa, and that’s because, of course, Lisa’s his girlfriend. Most of the things he did are for Lisa and Lisa only. However, you can see that he slowly grows fond of Rose and would start to help her, but mostly you can still realized the reasons Christian help was because Lisa told him, and want him to do so. His motivation was driven by Lisa because Lisa is his. Slytherin has a rather selfish kind of loyalty, where they are only loyal to those who are like them or those who they like. Christian is very much like that. Despite all these, he is also very ambitious. When he found out that he could fight Strigoi, he went on a “mission” with Rose to defeat the Strigoi, despite never really gotten the chance to fight before. He should be terrified, but he wasn’t, because he was so driven by that ambition to be able to fight. Therefore, Slytherin it is.
Okay, so, this is actually a pretty hard one, but I’ve decided to put him in Ravenclaw, mainly because Adrian is the kind of person who sorts things out by himself. He doesn’t really need anybody to help him, but when he does, he’s eager to learn from those people. For example, when he finds out Lisa is a spirit user, he finds her all the time to ask her questions and practice with her. Adrian’s thirst for the knowledge of the spirit clearly shows that he’s a Ravenclaw. When he found out that Rose knew a spirit user in Russia and wouldn’t tell him, he got mad at Rose for hiding that knowledge of spirit away from him and Lisa just so Rose could get what she wants. Other than that, it has been seen that once in a while Adrian would make witty comments, mostly probably because he was drunk and apparently he becomes poetic when he is drunk, but that doesn’t mean that part of him isn’t who he is. Sometimes it’s easier for Adrian to express himself that way. Adrian isn’t shy on voicing out his opinions and thoughts and sometimes he can be rather straight forward, for example, telling Rose about her aura, despite knowing it would trouble her. Although Adrian was hard for me to sort, I think he suits well in Ravenclaw.
Dimitri is driven to do what is right. He has a strong sense of morality, let alone he’s extremely brave when it comes to fighting off the strigois. Gryffindors are often a little rash but some Gryffindors can be very calculative and cautious as well, Dimitri is one of those. As much as he loves Rose, he couldn’t help but think what is right and what would be the best for everyone. He’s selfless when it comes to duty and he puts everyone else first before taking his own feelings into account. Dimitri is a classic Gryffindor. Brave, honest, and strong. The strigoi Dimitri showed another Gryffindor side of him. He’s chivalrous, and that which was often masked by his dutiful moral are shown more when he was turned strigoi. He tried to impress Rose, buying her presents and sometimes a little to bossy for us to ignore that Gryffindor side of him. Dimitri can be sweet, but when it comes to duty and what’s important, there are no hesitance, although he admitted sometimes he loses to his own feelings.
