So true. WO are so based for that and I have so much respect for them. Especially since they told people that they should leave this fandom if they want to bully, threaten, and harass others in the fandom( side note: you can’t judge Jimmy on his actions if you’re the kind of piece of shit who tell strangers to go kill themselves or tell that you wish for them to get raped one day)

I think they once said that when they were designing him, they wanted him to look like a regular guy. Plus I think they also said that you’re suppose to relate to Jimmy in some aspects. You don’t have to commit a bunch of unforgivable crimes to relate to him; you can relate to him because he’s a human being just like you and like you said, anyone can become like him.

I don’t know how people reached to the conclusion that he’s an irredeemable monster that lacks guilt and empathy after seeing the scene where he apologizes to Curly and the last scene of the game( the two scenes that break my heart).

Or seeing how he doesn’t like how Swansea treats Daisuke. Actually Jimmy is the nicest to Daisuke and only ONCE said something cruel about Daisuke( when he said that mommy and daddy will take care of him after he returns home. But compare that comment to the stuff Swansea says to Daisuke). He also genuinely wanted to heal Daisuke from his wounds and that’s why he was upset when Swansea killed him( cause he desperately wanted to fix his mistake since he didn’t want Daisuke to die or suffer).

Ok I wanna yap about my opinion about these merch. First I was so excited then I became so pissed off because they didn't draw Yui's beautiful, shining eyes. But then I was thinking there was time rejet even didn't bother itself to make merch for Yui. But now we have plushie Yui and a lot of Yui merch. So I think we took a very big step. We made a lot of progress to achieve Yui merch and I'm sure in future they'll show her eyes too. It'll take a little time. I can't wait for that.

Theory: Why weren’t there locks on the doors to the sleeping quarters? I think Anya answered her own question…

We know that the lack of a lock on the door sleeping quarters was how Jimmy got in Anya’s room to sexually assault her, but Curly’s response is interesting: for “safety”

We know that Pony Express is a very cheap and substandard company and Anya’s lines above seem to imply that she thought the only reason they didn’t fit locks on the Tulpar was due to budget cuts - PE being both “cheap or lazy. Probably both.” (which they are), however I don’t think Curly was lying about the claim this was done due to safety concerns either.

Throughout the story we also get implications that other people on PE hauls have gone insane and violent in the void of space, leading to a lot of restrictions on the availability of luxury items (like sweeter), very strict rules, collective punishment for breaking said rules, as well as all PE Captains being equipped with a gun to murder any crewman acting out…but while some people got violent, doesn’t it also seem likely that others would have the opposite reaction and start self harming in their misery? Pony Express employees locking themselves in their rooms and taking their own lives? (Even before things went past the point of no return, Jimmy was already rapidly going insane, Swansea was basically checked out of life even before he got fired and Curly himself was not exactly the picture of positive mental health)

Removing the locks seemed like Pony Express’s way of preventing death by allowing employees to get to their fellow workers in time to stop them from committing suicide, all without having to spend any money on psychiatric training for their nurses or improving living conditions on their ships. They likely kept the lock on the medical room door to prevent depressed employees from having easy access to pills in order to OD…

EDIT: @bitchchan77 (couldn’t find the exact post where they originally said it, sorry) had a great suggestion that the reason the cockpit was the only other room with a functioning lock was because crewman on past PE hauls had also done the same thing as Jimmy, and intentionally crashed their ships in deep space in order to kill themselves and take everyone else out with them - It’s likely Pony Express either didn’t plan for a pilot to go insane, or they just wanted to minimise the amount of people that could get to the cockpit in order to crash the ship, so it would be a less likely possibility.

While Anya didn’t have a lot of other options to escape the Tulpar except for death, her locking the door led to Jimmy panicking about Curly being locked behind the door with her, and Jimmy’s terrible, poorly thought out reaction was to send Daisuke up the vent to his death, but even if the vent had been safe for Daisuke, Anya was already long dead by the time Daisuke managed to open the door to the medical room, so (even if anyone had first aid training) no one could have saved her anyway.

TLDR: The lack of locks on the sleeping quarter doors was due to Pony Express being “cheap and lazy” but it was their cheap and lazy solution to a much, much bigger problem than budgeting…

It was PE shitty lazy way of preventing more death from happening.

It makes me think about what I said in a previous post. I said that the lock on the cockpit was to prevent someone who’s not a pilot from entering and crashing the ship. Obviously ironic.

Or like how PE took away unlimited sweetener and karaoke to prevent more mental breakdowns and violence.

Just like how PE taking away the locks to prevent the crew from committing suicide is ironic.
