Fun P:EG theories/headcanons/predictions I've been thinking about
1. Chapter 1 Eva victim/killer
I've seen people theorize that since Eva plays an important role in the major themes of the game("Eve" in Eden's garden) --she'd make it to the later chapters, but i think it'd be more poetic to cast "Eve" out of the garden of sinners in the very first chapter.
Having her initiate the killing game would be her "sin" bonus points if Damon was accused /blamed for her death fulfiling his role as the serpent who tempted her.
Idk, ever since the first trailer, I've always got the sense that Eva was meant to be a posthumous character, this was further cemented in her character bio sheet where we know literally next to nothing about her. I think it'd be more interesting to the themes of the story to keep her as a mythical figure (kinda like rantaro) instead of turning her into a basic Peko-Kyouko stoic archetype. But that's just my opinion.
2. Desmond plays a very important role later on
His silhouette appearing in the first trailer alongside eva + The emphasis on guns in his splash art made me think of both Cara and Mara. Dunno how that fits in, but...
3. Eloise, Kai, and Diana character arcs tied together
Swans. chameleons, and butterflies are usually symbols of change, albeit used in different context. The three are also seen together in the remaining students art.
4. Cassidy as one of the more competent people in class trials
ngl I based this off of her island mode stats where she's listed as a 4 in intelligence. This ranks her higher than Eva who was listed as a 3.
5. Wenona as big sister figure in later chapters
just a personal hc of mine. I kinda see her as the cool big sister to the younger members of the cast esp. with her bear symbolism (mama bear idk)
6. The animal motifs relate to their relationship with their talents and their individual character arcs
pretty obvious, but I think the placement of their respective accessories is also important
Ex. Damon's snake tie representing how he wears his mistrust and venomous words + confidence in his talent, front and center through his tie (also technically choking him??) Jean's dragon as a tattoo across his chest symbolizing his dedication and how he embodies his passion as the ultimate ship captain.
Maybe I'm overthinking design choices, but its interesting how they try to incorporate the animal motifs in a diverse way instead of simply slapping animal logos into their clothes.
7. "Comic relief" characters are integral to Damon's character arc (thus, the core themes of the game by proxy)
Okay so Damon basically dissed everyone's talents (with the exception of Desmond, Eloise, Wenona, Wolfgang, Eva's, and Mark, I don't remember him saying anything about ulysses either i think)
With Damon's whole philosophy of ultimate talents needing to improve society to give life meaning, I think it'd be more poignant for the people whose talents he considered "useless" to he central players, if not survivors in the game. They should have the spotlight to at least show damon that talents don't nescessarily have to give back to society and/or that their talents are already very impactful (For example: Kai's influencer ability potentially reaching millions of people + Cassidy and the importance of entertainment)
