I blink awake as the cool sun streams through the blinds of my room. I shut my eyes tightly, not wanting to go back to reality just yet.
I sigh when I only see the black goo that covers my mind. The room is dark even though the sun silently makes its way to each corner of the room. I pear out of my window; cold and grey, yet the sun is still shining. I make my way into the bathroom and shower before I check out the closet. It’s small, but just slightly larger than the one I had at home. There are only a pair of loafers, a black jacket, and the grey and white school uniform in it.
When I exit my room a smell of toast fills my nose. On the table I see a plate of toast with butter and jam and orange juice next to it. As I move closer to it, I see a note reading “Eat” on top of the plate. I slightly smile.
“Told you he’s nice.” Abigail mutters.
“He just toasted some bread for her. Not that big of a deal.” William grumbles.
“Better than nothing.” Abigail smirks as I begin to spread butter onto the toast. It tastes burnt.
“Now then, in leaue of it being the start of Remembrance Month, today we shall read about the Legend of the Lost Couple.” Mr. Evry sparkles as he quickly writes the title and page number on the board. My mouth parts in shock to hear Mr. Evry’s surprisingly seductive, deep voice. Another person I can hear, I think. The class goes into an uproar of what I can only interpret as groans.
Hikaru groans next to me. I turn my head to look at him. “What's Remembrance Month? What’s the legend about?” I ask him.
“Oh!” Mr. Evry gasps when he hears my voice. He quickly smiles and almost seems to dance his way towards me. “I’m so happy you asked Ms. Vivienne!”
“Now you did it.” Hikaru mutters as I hear my classmates give out similar hollers. I look at Hikaru questioningly, but then turn my attention to Mr. Evry waiting for him to answer me.
Mr. Evry smiles as he begins, “Remembrance Month is to honor and remember the first civil war of our kind. The legend is a tale that has been told throughout the ages. It's a love even stronger than thee Wiliam Shakespeare could have wrote! A long time ago when the discovery of magic and abilities first existed there were two lovers. The male came from the human world and the female came from the land of the Gods.
These two happened to meet at a ball designed for the beings known as the Elements because, you see, the two of them had similar elemental powers-“
“Ice and water.” Hikaru interrupts.
“Yes, ice and water.” Mr. Evry glares at Hikaru before continuing. “Because of their type of powers, experts believe that is why this couple ended up falling in love with each other. No one really knows. But, after the second ball of the Elements known as the beginning of the Dark Era the couple suddenly disappeared, vanished into thin air!” Mr. Evry uses his hands to help visualize them ‘vanishing in thin air.’
“There are some theories to what happened to them.” Mr. Evry starts.
“Of course there are.” William snorts. ”That we died. Were in hiding and died. A Power found us and killed us. Yadda, yadda, yadda.” He mimics Mr. Evry trying to emphasis the point that all the historians believed the couple died, he was right. Everything that William stated, Mr. Evry states with a dramatic tone.
“But,” Mr. Evry smiles, “there is also one theory... that the two of them were killed, yet saved somehow inside of the man’s friend. It was a well-known fact that his friend was actually the last dragon. And a dragon holds very mysterious powers that even scientists nowadays can’t understand. I prefer this theory.”
“Why?” I ask as I listen intently to his story.
Mr. Evry stares at me. He shows me a small, sad smile. “It means somehow, somewhere they are together alive and living happily with one another.”
I descend back into the goo of my mind when Mr. Evry finishes. I neither hear nor see anything. I stare silently at the three in my mind. The couple and the friend.
There is no bell that sounds the alarm, but the school’s halls fill with students heading towards the cafeteria. I slosh along with them. As soon as we walk into the cafeteria the lunch vending machines are attacked by hungry students. I get passed back and forth until I reach one of them. I push another random button, still not able to read the haze of words. Not caring what I got, I jump into the line of students heading to find a seat.
I feel a hand pull on me and lead me out of the line toward a row of lunch tables. As soon as the person and I escape the crowd I’m able to see it is Ichi pulling me.
“It’s crazy here in lunch time, huh?” He laughs as he pulls us toward a table housing four people. We stop in front of the table and I’m able to see that the four people are Hikaru, the two people that helped me yesterday, and a man I don’t know.
Ichi smiles at the people before he places me in the seat opposite of them. He sits next to me as he introduces everyone. “Everyone this is Vivienne. Vivienne you already know Hikaru.” He motions his hand as he shows me Hikaru. “The boy next to him is Christopher Gibbons and the girl is Chrys Anne Grunwald. Both of them are your age and same class. The guy next to them is Gerrit Lukas Grunwald. He’s part of the college department with me.”
All of them, except Hikaru, wave and smile at me. All of them say things to me, but it only comes as jumbled noise. I cringe in distaste with what the goo is doing to me.
I see Ichi stare at me before he motions to the three to stop talking. All three of them stop before Hikaru laughs. “Still useless?”
“Hikaru!” Ichi snaps at him.
“What? It’s true isn’t it? She can’t hear anyone and you still can’t even see in that gunk. Whenever I look at her, she seems like a mindless zombie.” Hikaru bites into a meat bun. “She’s completely filled with that nasty gunk just because her family died! So, what? She’s not the only one who’s lost their family. Just get over it!”
“Hikaru!” Ichi yells louder at Hikaru.
I bite my lip and finally look at the food that I chose: pancakes, my sister’s favorite. I feel the tears forming as flashes of memories of my sister fill my mind.
“Don’t cry, Vivienne.” William coos to me.
“Mistress, please don’t cry.” Antoinette’s eyes begin to water as she tries to soothe me.
I cross my eyebrows as I dig into my meal, trying to savor each and every bite. The pancakes are warm and fluffy, filled with a delicious maple syrup. As usual, the center is the softest and the best part.
“It tastes salty.” I murmur, mainly to myself.
“I’m sorry he said that.” Ichi places his hand on my shoulder. I look at him and see his eyes looking deep inside of me. He must have seen my thoughts, I think as I look around the table. Only he, Gerrit, and I are left at the table.
“Hikaru left and the others went after him. He’s a really sweet kid. It’s just ever since his power awakened he’s constantly on edge. And for some reason he’s been even more aggravated recently. So… sorry.” Ichi sweetly smiled, trying to let me know that both of them really meant no harm.
I simply gave a small nod and look back at my now empty plate. “Do.. do you know what’s aggravating him?” I ask as I point to his head, asking if he’s seen anything in Hikaru’s head.
He shakes his head. “Hikaru’s mind is almost like yours. It’s too thick to find the real problem. Something is always blocking me from seeing everything in that vast mind of his.”
I bite my lip and then remember that Gerrit is still with us. I look up at him. “So, what’s your ability?”
He smiles and responds to me in a murmured mess. I pout and look at Ichi for his response.
“He said he doesn’t have one.” Ichi looks at Gerrit before looking back at me. “But, he’s basically waiting to see if his will awaken anytime soon. He and his sister, Chrys, were brought here seven years ago. Her powers awakened and since they’re twins the Superiors believe that he should somehow get a similar power, but others say she may have gotten all the power capability out of the two since he hasn’t shown any sign of power activity. So, just like you, he’s here to wait and see if any powers will pop up.”
I look at Gerrit. He notices my gaze and smiles at me. “Wait. He’s a twin with Chrys, but isn’t he in the college department?”
“Ah. Yes. Even though he looks like an easy-going, down-to-earth guy, he’s actually extraordinarily smart. So he was able to jump… 5 years?” He looks at Gerrit for his agreement. Gerrit nods. “The principal of the school lets him stay because of his intelligence and helpfulness to the school. Also, the principal likes it when there are siblings or family members coming here. It helps bring a more ‘family feeling’ to the school. His top priority is to have the students be comfortable and happy.” Ichi smiles as he takes my plate and puts it on his. “Come, we don’t want you to be late for class.”
I sit and stare out the window of our classroom. The math teacher has caught a flu, so our class is doing a self-study session even though most of the class decided to take this time to chat and hang out with friends. All I can hear from them is a murmured mess, so I decided to sit and listen to the sweet songs coming from the bird nest next to the classroom’s window. Hikaru is missing, but Christopher and Chrys are studying silently together. Chrys spots me looking their way and smiles. I give a simple nod back and look back at the birds.
“It was raining yesterday, but it’s so sunny today…” I mumble to myself.
I close my eyes and listen to the sweet harmony the birds make. A silent humming starts to entangle with the bird’s song. Deep, sweet, and calming. It begins to fill my entire head as I begin to hum along. I smile as I finally see William humming to me. He smiles back at me as he shows me a slow dance. Step, step, twirl, step.
He closes his eyes as he glides through the frosted goo in my head. His hair glistens with each twirl he makes. He stops and suddenly looks past me. His mouth parts open. “…No.”
“Open your eyes, now!” Abigail screeches at me; it sounded almost as if she was standing next to me. I quickly wake up and take huge gasps of air. I look to the birds and see that the tree branch they are on is completely iced over. I can see each breath that I take forming a slight fog as I try to calm myself. I look back into the class, no one else has noticed. I get up from my desk and head to the door. As I reach the door, it slams open.
Hikaru stands in front of me short of breath. I notice three black and red earings shining brightly on his right ear. He looks down at me, his eyes burning with fire. “Was it you?” He talks to me through his teeth. “Did you hear me? Was it you?” He yells at me and throws me back.
I cringe as I feel my spine harshly makes contact with the ground. “Ah!” I gasp as Hikaru lifts me up to his face by grabbing my collar. “Did you use that power?” He stares intently into my eyes, seeking answers that I am too confused to answer.
I press my eyes shut wanting to hide from this scary event. I feel his hand burn on the parts of my skin that he touches. I feel the heat of his breath. I feel the fire burning with his intense stare. It’s excruciating. It’s horrifying. Everything… He is making everything melt away and now I feel it. That goo which was not a liquid; that goo which was put there for a purpose; that goo that was meant to protect my mind is finally melting away. That goo was his icy protection from the pain that he knew he had caused. William, the king of ice, was meant to be my second awakened power, but by saving my life from the fire that he fears most he has caused me to feel the fire that ice brings.
Your life can never change until you take the first step.

I did it this time. I finally did it. A black-haired teenage boy walked with a fast pace moving against the crowd of business people, students, and tourists. He had both hands tightly clutching at the strap of his school bag while he looked up at each of the shop signs he was passing, he could feel that his face was flushed but tonight he didn't care about his appearance. Tonight was the first night Hirabayashi Tsubaki went off his normal schedule of attending his cram school at exactly 5 o'clock at night and went to see the band he had been admiring, Nightingale.
Tsubaki was a boy whom never went off track:wake up, school, cram school, home, study, sleep, and redo the cycle the next day. He followed the schedule perfectly, so he could always stay on the good side of his family. He never wanted to go against them; he always made sure to follow what they say because he didn't want to be the only failure in their family.
But, tonight was different. He finally cracked from the pressure.
Tsubaki's eyes brightened as he saw the sign “Starlight Cafe” appeared above him. His face was red and a heavy line of sweat had formed along his forehead by the time he had pushed the door open. Loud uneven music flowed out of the cafe when the door was only a crack open. He popped his head inside, slightly hesitating whether he had made the right decision on coming. But, the moment he saw inside: the dim lights giving off a white and pastel yellow hue against a mystic navy blue ceiling giving off a picturesque “Starry Night”, the tables and seats lined elegantly around the cafe all leading to the stage, the bewitching pinnacle of the cafe. As if the moon's light was directly on it, the stage sparkled and dazzled the eyes of anyone who saw it.
Not even realizing it, Tsubaki was already inside the cafe staring at the stage. “So, this is where they'll be playing.” He murmured to himself.
“Welcome to Starlight Cafe, party of 1?”
“Ah... Yes.” Tsubaki blushed as he gripped his bag tighter. He wasn't one to be shy, but in this unknown setting he didn't know how to act. Especially when he started looking around at all the people in the cafe, all of them wore fashionable clothes and actually looked like they were meant to be in this sort of place. But, he... He just wore his school uniform, not daring to return home for a change of clothes since he knew his parents would question why he was there at such an inappropriate time.
The waiter, seemingly not caring that Tsubaki was in a school uniform or not noticing it, took the boy to a table near the stage. “Can I start you off with a drink?” The waiter questioned after Tsubaki sat down.
“Just...uh...Iced green tea?”
“Certainly.” The waiter left and again Tsubaki was alone to observe the place. The place still reverberated with an uneven sound coming from behind the stage. He stretched his head, wondering if he could catch who was practicing behind the curtains covering the backstage area. No luck. He listened to the beat of the drum, being hit carefree yet still having a rhythm. He then concentrated on the faint sound of the guitar being plucked lazily, strum for strum, it was as if the guitarist was resting before the show yet not able to take his hands off his instrument. Then, he heard the even fainter sound of a hum, it was covered by the pounding of the drums and the strum of the guitar. But, it was still the sound with the most capturing appeal. He closed his eyes trying to hear that sound only, ignoring the murmur of customers and all the other noises.
“Here you go.” The clank of his drink tore him away from his concentration. He let a sigh escape his lips before thanking the waiter.
An hour and two green teas later the stage lights finally dimmed. Since he arrived, several people arrived into the cafe and took standing room in front of the stage. So, now, Tsubaki's best seat in the house became an enigma. He couldn't see the stage perfectly anymore by sitting down and he knew he would barely see the top of the band members' heads if he stood up. But, he still didn't feel discouraged. It's better than being cooped up in the cram school. At least now I can finally hear the band live instead of just through my ear buds.
Cheers erupted and he was able to see movement on the stage between the cracks of the audience. He sat up straight, not exactly looking for the band, but still doing it out of instinct of a fan.
“Hello, we are Nightingale. We hope you like today's performance. We'll start our concert with Odette.” Tsubaki's skin rose as he heard the singer's husky voice vibrating out of the speakers around the cafe. He felt an electricity run through his body that he had never felt before when he simply listened to them through his music player. Instinctively he stood up and saw the top of the singer. He could see his medium length black hair combed back in the punk style the band fashioned.
Jun K. He would have sighed if he had said the singer's name aloud.
The drums began to beat to the sweet prelude of their opening song, the guitar soon followed announcing the coming hum that Tsubaki knew all too well.
“Aaa,” Jun K slowly began and paused. He took a deep breath as he leaned into the mike; Tsubaki's heart pounded as he awaited his favorite part. “Aaaaahhhhhmmmmmmmmm.” Jun K moaned passionately into the mic as he began the song, Tsubaki's knees melted causing him to collapse back into the seat.
Throughout the concert, Tsubaki never stood up again. His ears focused on the music, mainly the sensual and harsh vibrations coming out of Jun K's mouth as he sung a total of 8 songs.
It's rougher than I thought. Tsubaki thought as they finished up their last song. He stared at the back of the head of the audience covering the stage. His voice... It makes my skin tingle as if I was just sprinkled with everything good in the world.
“Thank you all for coming! We hope you had a great time listening to us! You guys are amazing, please keep supporting us.” Jun K's voice sounded excited and friendly, still a bit harsh like how he sings. Tsubaki could tell they bowed, but unfortunately could only see their bodies through the cracks in the audience still. His eyes stayed fixated on the crack, hoping to see maybe a glimpse of Jun K's face since he had no idea how he nor the rest of the band looked. To his luck, he saw him.
Jun K's lightly tanned skin was drenched in beads of sweat. The hair that was combed back now had wet strands sticking to the sides of his face. But, most of all, the male's gray eyes stared directly back at Tsubaki's dark brown eyes. He felt his heart jump believing that their eyes connected, but also felt that he was just being too self conscious.
But, soon Tsubaki found out that Jun K was indeed looking at him. Before the male got off stage, Tsubaki clearly heard Jun K say: “Hirabayashi?”
[2]
Tsubaki let out a sigh as he changed his shoes in the front shoe locker area of his high school. He still felt like he was in the tranquil daze the concert left him in. But, he also felt that the happiness he received at the concert was slowly draining out. He felt himself becoming the empty shell he was before his adventurous night.
When he had returned home after the concert, he expected for his parents to be up waiting to give him a lecture. But, no one was up. Not only was the outside light not turned on, but they didn't leave any of the inside lights on for his return. They simply acted as if everything was the same, even without him there.
Tsubaki walked slowly to his classroom, wanting to drag his feet, but he once again became too mechanical with his movements. What's the point in everything I have been doing, then? What's the point in being this robot for them? Doing what they want, so that I don’t 'tarnish' the family reputation. He paused and looked out the window just in front of his classroom. He stared at the overcast clouds, heavy, not wanting to let the sun appear. That's it. I'm like that... The sun... being hidden by those clouds... wanting to let my rays shine, but only having too many obstacles in front of me. He scoffed at himself before turning his eyes towards his feet. “How can I compare myself to the sun? Way to dream big.”
“Dreams come in every shape and size.” A husky voice came from in front of Tsubaki.
Tsubaki raised his head quickly. “Sorry... I didn't mean to say something like that... aloud.” He bowed at the figure. “If you'll-”
“It was you, right, Hirabayashi?” The other questioned.
“... Excuse me?” Tsubaki questioned before looking up at the male. His brows furrowed as he realized that the person in front of him was the male he always made sure to stay away from, Kurokawa Jun. His eyes perused the male's face, tanned and somehow seemed familiar despite seeing him everyday at school. His eyes quickly glanced at the other's earring, a clasp at the top of his ear covering a tattoo that looking like a camellia. “What was me?”
“You were at the Starlight Cafe last night, right?” Jun asked the male. He shook his head which made Tsubaki, still furrowing his brows, glance at the neat pompadour on top of the other's head. “I wouldn't have expected seeing you there. You seem like a study-bug.”
Tsubaki bit his lip lightly before turning towards his classroom. “Well, Kurokawa-san, if it seems like I'm not that type of person then I must not have been the one you saw. It was probably just someone who looked like me.” He could feel the heat rise in his body as he anxiously tried to get away from the other, but also trying to remain like how he normally acted. Was he there!? I didn't see him... Maybe he was in the back. But, no! I only paid attention to the music. I didn't notice anyone at all. “If you'll-”
“No, it definitely had to be you.” Jun stepped forward, blocking Tsubaki from escaping to his class. “That straight black hair that curls at the tips... Those eyes that look like melted chocolate... And, the obvious school uniform that you always wear exactly like a 'good student'. No matter how I think of it, it was you.” Jun chuckled lightly as he gazed at the other.
Tsubaki took in a deep breath. Not only did his body feel hot, but now, his face felt like it was burning. What...what kind of person can say those things with a straight face? No! Before that, how does he remember those small details? Especially, in that 'melted chocolate' context? “W-w-what are you trying to prove? Do you want to rat me out that I was at such a place last night? You'd only be turning yourself in. Plus, it's not like anyone cares.”
“I care.” Jun blurted. A sheepish grin formed on his lips before he lightly touched his hair. “To think that there's a fan of our band at the same school I go to is amazing. I'm just really amazed that you have the same taste in music as me, it seemed like you really enjoyed the way we performed. I've always been interested in you, so this just is... to put it simply, destiny.”
“ 'Our band'? ...'We performed'?” Tsubaki questioned back at the other before taking in the other's presence again. He was about the same height as Tsubaki, had an aura of a delinquent just by eying him, and he had a perfect punk style about him even though he was currently wearing the school uniform. But, then Tsubaki replayed Jun's voice in his head as well as Jun K's voice from last night. “...what?” His knees went weak and caused him to stumble slightly.
Jun quickly grabbed Tsubaki's arm to give him balance. “Are you alright?”
Tsubaki's eyes widened as he stared at the other. “ Ju... Jun K from Nightingale?”
“...Yeah. You didn't know?”
“W-w-wa-what?” Tsubaki quickly knelt down and covered his head.
“Tsubaki? Are you okay?”
Tsubaki could feel his face steam. He kept his face covered so the other couldn't see how red his face was and hopefully to prevent Jun from hearing the wild beating coming from his heart. “S'm fine.” He could hardly mumble now that his whole body trembled with excitement. “J-us g'me a min't.” Wah! Impossible. Impossible. Jun can't be Jun K. He can't. He can't. Oh my God. He just touched me a while ago. No, no, no. Jun can't, he can't.
Jun chuckled as he watched the other's reaction. He could see that Tsubaki was embarrassed because the other didn't realize that even his neck turns red when he blushes. Jun bent down above the other as he used his finger to poke the male's neck. “Tsu.Ba.Ki.”
Oh my gosh. He's calling my name. Wait! How can he be so informal with me!? We only just met! But,.... ugh! Jun K's calling my name! Tsubaki welled with inner turmoil as his mind and emotions were realizing that Jun and Jun K were really one in the same.
Jun could only smile down at the person. He continued to use the same finger to draw a line down the male's neck, feeling the heat coming off Tsubaki's body.
But, before he could say or do anything else to the male, the school bell rang. Jun pursed his lips before standing up. “I'll come get you after school. I want to get to know a bit more about... Nightingale's precious fan.” He gave the other a smile, even though Tsubaki never looked up.
Tsubaki waited until he didn't feel the other's presence and stood up slowly. He took off his glasses, too fogged up to see anything at the moment. He walked into class as if nothing happened. He didn't even realize that he didn't come to class in time to look out the window nor did he realize that he would be missing another cram school class.
[3]
“How did you hear about Nightingale?” Jun K asked as he drank iced coffee watching the other closely from the seat across from Tsubaki. He really did end up picking Tsubaki up after school, only to bring him to a cafe nearby the school. Tsubaki sipped on the iced green tea he bought for him. He could feel the heat on his face; Tsubaki felt too self-conscious knowing that Jun K was watching him, but also nervous about the fact that Jun was actually the man he had been admiring for his singing skills for the past seven months. But, even though Tsubaki had already made a fool out of himself, he didn't want to let Jun K know that he made butterflies flutter in his stomach and caused his pulse to race with just one word from his mouth.
“I randomly heard a song from a blog... Nothing special.” Tsubaki said curtly, hoping that whatever this was would end soon.
“What kind of blog?”
“I don't remember.”
“Was it a music blog?”
“Maybe.”
“What kind of music blog?”
“The kind that would play your music, I suppose.”
“What kind of music is my music?”
“Is this some kind of interrogation?” Tsubaki rose his voice, his face already painted in a scarlet shade. He felt that the questions would keep coming even though he was answering in the shortest way he could think of.
Jun K leaned forward and placed his elbows on the table. He chuckled at how Tsubaki responded. “I did say that I wanted to know more about you.”
“Those questions aren't exactly asking me about... me.”
“I thought it'd lead to it. I had the perfect transition. After you said: Well your kind of music is the kind I like. I was going to-”
“I never said-!”
“I...was... Going to ask: Oh, so who's your favorite member? And you'd say: Jun K, I love him!”
“I would ne-” Tsubaki blushed.
“I would say: Oh, what a coincidence. I love you, too. All the songs I've written were about you, when I sing it's for you, and how about we start going steady?” Jun K looked at Tsubaki and had a hint of a smirk on his face.
Tsubaki stared at the other, shocked and at a loss for words at how straight-forward Jun K was. His mind was completely blank, but, then a small thought crept right from his brain and out of his mouth before he could stop it. “Which songs did you write for me?”
Jun K's eyebrows twitched slightly, not expecting that response out of the other. A series of fifteen song titles spilled out of his mouth, all of them were the favorites of Tsubaki's. “ 'Odette', 'The Dawn', 'The Falling Sakura Petals', 'Smile Again'...” He could feel the heat of his body steadily rising, even more than before realizing that their lyrics were about him and meant for him. But, it wasn't until the last song title that made his heart skip a beat. “椿の明るい緑の花弁 (The bright green of the Camellia petals).”
Tsubaki felt his body's heat go to his stomach, forming a ball in the pit of it calling for someone to touch it. That feeling was foreign to him, it made him ache for something, something he didn't exactly know how to express or ask for.
“I... I... have to go!” Tsubaki said loudly as he stood up quickly. He stared at Jun K, searching his face for an answer to this burning ball he felt at the pit of his stomach. He clutched the strap of his school bag, hating the fact that he couldn't figure it out with just looking at Jun K. “I forgot I still have cram school! Please, excuse me.” He said, actually realizing at that point that he missed the first part of his cram school and would never make it for the last part. He quickly rushed away.
“Tsubaki!” Jun K called out to the other, but he had already left the cafe. He felt anxious at remembering those eyes the other showed him, hungry and confused. He regretted not going after him, but even though he had so confidently came onto the other, he was nervous about having Tsubaki so close to his grasp than ever before. The fact that Tsubaki never had looked at him in school, but looked at him as a band member of Nightingale made him feel expectant, but also made Jun K feel nervous. Jun K knew that Tsubaki didn't like him at all, but he also had a tiny shred of hope that Tsubaki could end up falling for him as himself not as just the singer of Nightingale. That's why Tsubaki's heated look made him hold back from running after him, which Jun was making him look like that? Jun or Jun K? Even though they are one in the same, even Jun K knew it's be hard to get the other to acknowledge both of them as the same person.
“Tsubaki, the cram school called today! Do you know what about?” Tsubaki's mother yelled as soon as he entered the door. He didn't bother going to cram school after what happened, not only because he was already late and wouldn't make it in time, but because his thoughts were full of Jun K until he stepped inside the house. “You were absent two days in a row! Do you know how much that school costs? You should be ashamed of yourself! I am because I have to call you my son!”
“I'm sor-”
“Why did we only get one useful child? Why can't you be like your sister? Straight A's her whole life, never missed one class from school or cram school, and she's a lawyer. I'll be surprised if you can even become a pharmacy grunt in your condition!” His mother continued to banter him. Tsubaki could only stand there and listen to her. He remembered this speech, it's embedded in his head already. One B on a test always made her lash out at him, even though he received no praise for raising his grade to an A the very next test. His mother and father just reminded him that getting an A in anything is natural. He seriously felt, simply, over it.
“I'll make sure it doesn't happen again.” Tsubaki said monotonously before he headed up the stairs. He gently closed his door and sighed.
He changed silently into his pj’s, gently slid himself under his sheets, and grabbed his music player. He put on his headphones and began to play the song that he's listened to the most times in his entire life: “椿の明るい緑の花弁 (The bright green of the Camellia petals)”. And, he drifted to sleep with Jun K's soft voice crooning just for him.
[4]
A week passed and Tsubaki had already returned to his normal cycle of going to school and then cram school. Jun K was never able to go see the other even during lunch break because of prior band engagements. But, this just made Tsubaki feel as if what happened had all been a dream, a dream he created to escape the dull reality he was living. A living that he was pursuing solely to appease and be accepted by his family. But, even though everything seemed like a dream, Tsubaki couldn't fathom the thought of continuing his life like this. He had tasted a bit of freedom, dream or not, and now he had cracks in the lifestyle he thought he had perfected. Again, tonight he had cracked.
Tsubaki's sister returned from the city to visit with the family and everyone was in high spirits. Everyone but Tsubaki. She told them of her work and how many people she had successfully prosecuted, basically gloating at how well she was doing. Tsubaki could feel the pride spewing off of her and their parents, it was sickening. After all the jolly chatter, the conversation took a gloomy turn for Tsubaki when they started discussing about him. Although it was more like taunting him, reminding him that he was the black sheep of the family full of doctors and lawyers. He was feeling smaller than ever, he felt unloved. That was until he remembered Jun K. Not just Jun K of Nightingale, although that image did pop up first, he thought of the teenage boy styled in a pompadour that actually went well with their school uniform. That sight of the male, someone he realized he always watched despite claiming that he disliked him, made him feel an urge to just do whatever he wanted.
Tsubaki wanted to be rid of the shackles of trying to impress his own family. He wanted to be who he wanted to be and have actual hobbies. He wanted to be freed from his tense world and actually be Tsubaki. And, by doing that, he wanted the male he couldn't keep his eyes off of and the man who soothed him to sleep every bad night. He wanted Kurokawa Jun.
Tsubaki stood in front of the familiar door to Starlight Cafe. He had left the house quietly as his family spoke amongst themselves, of course they would never notice that he had slipped out. Tonight he felt somewhat lighter. He didn't feel nervous or guilty like the first time. He felt like he actually belonged, especially now that he wore clothes that made him feel more like he was in his own skin.
He opened the door and was met with the sounds of Nightingale.
The performance seemed to be almost ending, but that didn't stop Tsubaki from drifting towards the stage. He unfortunately was stopped at the steps leading down to the floor where the stage was. He simply stood on the top step and watched Jun K singing passionately into the microphone, this time he was able to clearly see him. Jun K had his hair slicked back again, pieces of his bangs had come undone and some of the hairs stuck to his shimmering forehead.
“We only have enough time for one more song. And, I'd like to dedicate this one to someone dear to me. He... he's someone who's shines so brightly even though he doesn't realize it. This guy is my sun, someone I can't ever live without. Someone who makes this piece of junk feel like I'm actually worth something.” Jun K chuckled before he paused and scanned the crowd a bit. His eyes never meeting Tsubaki's even though he wanted to be found. “He made me step forward, to change myself, just by a smile and... a nightingale. Please enjoy our last song, “椿の明るい緑の花弁 (The bright green of the Camellia petals)”.
Tsubaki's cheeks lightly glowed as he listened to Jun K sing. The song was about the day they had first met, a day that Tsubaki realized was when he started to have cracks in his perfect lifestyle. That day he heard the beautiful deep voice of someone singing coming from the back of the school. There he found a male covered in cuts and cleaning up the blood that dripped from them. It was the first time he had seen that kind of scene and instead of wanting to run away, he was drawn to it.
“Here you go.” Tsubaki handed the male his wet handkerchief.
Jun K looked up and shook his head. “Don't waste your kindness on this piece of trash.”
Tsubaki paused and looked the male up and down, he wasn't sure what he should say in this kind of situation. “Did someone call you that?”
“Everyone does... I'm no-good. I come from a poor family and have poor grades. I'm useless to society, the best I can be is a trash digger.”Jun K scoffed at his own words.
Tsubaki's heart clenched, knowing the feeling of uselessness well. He took his own handkerchief and placed it on a cut on Jun K's forehead. “Well, there's only one thing you can do. Become whatever you want to be. Don’t think about society, or anybody but yourself. Just do what you want to do and live how you want to live, not how people think you should be living. As long as it's legal, of course!” Tsubaki knew he was saying this more for himself than the male, but being able to get those words out made him feel slightly relieved. “Plus, if all else fails, you can always go into singing. You're voice is dazzling.”
Jun K blushed at the compliment as he took the handkerchief out of Tsubaki's hands. “Thanks... er... for the handkerchief and compliment.”
“You're welcome.” Tsubaki smiled. In the distance the school bell rang, announcing classes were about to start. His smile vanished quickly. “You don't have to return the handkerchief. Good bye.”
“Ah! Wait. What's your name?” Jun K called out quickly.
Tsubaki turned around and gave the male a tiny smile. “ Hirabayashi Tsubaki.”
“Tsubaki..” Jun K murmured as he watched the other's silhouette vanish. He glanced down at the handkerchief, spotted with blood. He smiled as he looked at the embroidery on it. “How girly... A nightingale, huh?”
Tsubaki's stared at the male singing with wide eyes, he couldn't believe that that male he met was Jun K. He could feel his heart flutter once again for Jun K. He covered his face when he felt hot tears form and a huge grin spread across his face. The person who helped create a crack in his usual facade was actually the voice he listened to everyday to save him and the man he had fallen in love with. Love? Tsubaki questioned himself before laughing. He must have looked crazy, but he didn't care at all at the moment. He cried and laughed at the thought that the man he had 'saved' turned out to be the person saving him.
“Tsubaki!” The word reverberated throughout the cafe. Tsubaki looked up, he could see the glistening lights coming off of the stage, but also the fog his glasses accumulated from his tears. But, he knew who had called him: Jun K.
He was able to see the crowd part as he watched Jun K come off the stage towards him. He held his breath as his eyes followed the other until he was right in front of him. Since, he was on a step he was a head taller than Jun K. He smiled down at the other, tears still wetting his cheeks and his cheeks a bright red. “Thank you, Jun K. Thank you.” He moved forward and kissed the male's forehead.
Jun K looked at the other shocked, but ended up giggling. He stared at Tsubaki taking in the look he'd never seen before, taking in another cute face Tsubaki could make. “Thank you, too, Tsubaki. I love you. Just like how you took care of me that day, will you let me take care of you?”
Tsubaki chuckled, he still couldn't believe at how forward Jun K was. “How about you just love me every day? Remind me that I'm dear to you. And I'll,” Tsubaki leaned forward and wrapped his arms around the other, “make sure to give you even more love than I receive.”
Jun K felt his face redden. He smiled as he shook his head. “Impossible. I've been loving you far too long to be beat.”
“Idiot.” Tsubaki laughed and playfully messed up Jun K's hair.
Hirabayashi Tsubaki's life was on an unchanging schedule, day to day my life was dull and insignificant. That was until he fell in love with Kurokawa Jun and step by step changed his own life.

“Can you explain what you're doing?” Jun K asked with an forced crooked smile.
“Can't you tell? I'm going to give you some love.” Tsubaki answered casually.
“Okay... I get that. But, why here? And now?” Jun K raised his voice as he looked around from the couch in the backroom of the Starlight Cafe. The band members had already left and the staff wouldn't be coming around to clean the backroom until after closing, since Nightingale normally stayed behind to hang out. But, not this time, his bandmates wanted to give the new couple some alone time especially after that performance.
“Don't you... want to?” Tsubaki asked in a sad voice, but he still had his composed face on that Jun K always saw at school. Tsubaki tilted his head as he watched Jun K that was underneath him.
“Um...” Jun K's cheeks were flushed just looking up at Tsubaki, the man he loved was straddling him. He would never had suspected Tsubaki was quick in relationships, but he supposed he still didn't know him that well yet. But, he was very eager to learn every thing about him. “I wouldn't say that. But, are you sure?”
Tsubaki's face quickly revealed a hint of red on his cheeks. He leaned in to Jun K and whispered to him. “I want you, Kurokawa Jun.”
Jun K quickly snapped out of his nerves and grabbed the other's arms, to steady the male as he kissed him deeply. He first started off with gentle, light kisses before slipping his tongue in. Their tongues searched each other, creating slippery noises as well as the occasional reverberating sounds of passion that escaped their throats.
After Jun K's grip on Tsubaki's arms faded, Tsubaki pressed his body against Jun K's so he could wrap his arms around the other. The heat of the male' body made Tsubaki feel that fire in the pit of his stomach again. No matter how many kisses they were giving each other, it only grew more. Tsubaki moved his mouth away from the other's, so he could bite on the other's neck. He lightly nibbled at Jun K, sucking him at points when he felt biting wasn't being efficient. But, still the pit of his stomach echoed even louder.
Jun K gave out low groans whenever the male nibbled a bit too hard on his neck, it was a pain he knew he was growing to like. He could feel that Tsubaki's body was getting hotter and hotter. He placed his hands underneath the male's shirt. “...in the way.” He muttered before slipping it off.
Tsubaki chuckled lightly, a flush of embarrassment crossed his face. No one had ever seen him naked before, so it was a very awkward experience. But, Tsubaki could see that in Jun K's face that he liked what he saw. He bit the bottom of his own lip before opening Jun K's button-down shirt. His eyes widened at how different their bodies looked. Tsubaki was light with barely any hints of muscles, while Jun K was slightly tanned and had a defined chest and abs. “That's not fair.” He said before placing his hands on Jun K's chest.
Jun K laughed. “Yeah, it's not fair how beautiful you look.” He smiled up at the other before sliding his hands onto Tsubaki's chest. He lightly pinched at the male's rosy nipples watching his reaction.
Tsubaki let out a gasp. He furrowed his brows as he looked down at Jun K. “That won't do any- Ah!” He exclaimed as the male pinched a bit harder.
Jun K licked his lips when he realized something about his lover. He seemed to like things rough. This fact was even more noticeable when he saw how big Tsubaki's crotch grew the second time he pinched. He smiled as he sat up more and placed his mouth on a nipple. He sucked on it hard before biting it.
Tsubaki let out an excited moan when he was bitten. He moved his hands onto Jun K's hair and lightly pulled at it. He felt that the heat in his stomach was ready to burst out, but he still needed more. Each time Jun K sucked and pinched at his nipples, he inched closer and closer, but he still needed more. He felt Jun K bite hard onto his chest which caused him to thrust forward, bumping into Jun K's body right on a good spot for him. He moaned at the pleasure it felt to thrust onto something. “S-s-sorry.” He said shyly.
Jun K chuckled lightly. He slid his hands down to Tsubaki's pants and unbuckled them. “Let me give you a hand with that. Tsu.Ba.Ki.” He grasped the male's penis. Tsubaki froze at the feeling of the other's hands on him. But, he quickly melted into the male's grip as soon as his shaft was stroked. Tiny moans escaped his lips. His hips wriggled with pleasure as he followed the male stroke for stroke.
Tsubaki could feel that heat again, hungry and craving to be released. It was finally at the tipping point. He moved closer to Jun K and pressed his body onto his once again. “Y-you, too. Let me touch you, too.”
Before Jun K could say anything, Tsubaki had his eager hands down the other's pants. He quickly unzipped him and grasped onto Jun K's dick. Jun K let out a groan at the heated hands of his lover. Tsubaki didn't know, but with each moan that escaped from him Jun K was about to reach his own climax. But, now that Tsubaki's hands were on his dick, he knew he would cum any second. Jun K tried to hold it as he continued to stroke harder on Tsubaki's penis. Not missing a beat, Tsubaki stroke faster on Jun K's dick, occasionally using his thumb to stroke the head finding it slippery with the dripping pre-cum.
“Tsubaki, I'm about to-”
“M-me, too, Jun!” Tsubaki closed his eyes tightly as the heat suddenly exploded. He moaned loudly into Jun K's ear and Jun K groaned loudly into Tsubaki's neck as they both came together. Relief finally washed over Tsubaki's body, that heat gone, but filled with pleasure instead. He breathed hard as he clung to his lover's body. He giggled as he kissed Jun K's neck. “I love you, Jun.”
Jun K smiled brightly as he hugged the other. “I love you, too, my Tsubaki.”
Midori is a story I actually wrote for an anthology and didn’t get chosen for. LOL.
Its about a boy who wants to break out of his shell, break out of his everyday life routine, and finally find himself. So, he goes to see a live performance of a local band he fell in love with because their music helps him through the hard times. He’s been in love with the lead singer’s voice, but little did he know, he actually goes to the same school as him.
“Boys, I hope you’re not planning on just laying around like bums today just because it’s the first day of your break.” Mom grumbled as she stood at the kitchen corridor. Her arms were crossed as she glared at both me and my step-brother, Daisuke.
“Oh, come on, mom. Can’t we relax a bit longer? We only have a week of a break. And, plus, today’s the only day we really get to relax. Remember my friends invited Shuuichi to come with us to play at the beach house? So, today I think it’s a good idea to relax and watch some anime.” Daisuke winked at me before turning his attention back onto the television screen. I pursed my lips as I watched him from over my book.
“Oh, don’t give me that Tanaka Daisuke.” Mom raised her voice as she made a swift movement and landed herself between Daisuke and the television. Daisuke froze as he looked upon our mother. “Not that I’m not ecstatic that you are taking Shuuichi with you, but every single day that both of you are going to be there will be a ‘relaxing day’. You’re going there for a mini-vacation! So, until both of your feet are on that soft, grainy sand you shall be working your butt off here, with your mother.” She smiled as she turned off the television and handed Daisuke a broom. “Now, get to it boys.”
Sunday . Van, 9:50
“Ugh. Mom can be so strict when it’s about cleaning.” Daisuke groaned as he rubbed his shoulders.
His friend sitting in front of him, Kento, turned around and laughed. “Your mom made you clean too? My mom made me actually weed the garden while she sipped lemonade and bathed in the sun!” The two other boys in the van laughed.
“Yeah. Our mom made us clean the kitchen, bathroom, our rooms, and even the patio outside. She really worked us to the bone. So, now I can’t wait until we get to your beach house and have a nice long dip in the ocean.” Daisuke smiled. “Right, Shuuichi?” Daisuke nudged me. I simply nodded.
“Yeah, I can’t wait to get to the beach and see all the hot beach bunnies in their bikinis!” One of Daisuke’s friends known as Abe laughed. “Maybe by the end of the week we’ll all have a nice summer fling to talk about, if you know what I mean.”
Daisuke’s friend, Leo, turned around from the passenger seat and laugh. “Like that’ll ever happen to you, Abe! Beach bunnies like men. You know, built and tanned, like me. Not a pale flimsy guy like you!”
Everyone roared with laughter. Abe blushed. “It’s the inside that counts!”
“Not for a summer fling.” Daisuke laughed.
“Hey, so why couldn’t Jeremy come?” Kento changed the subject.
I tensed up when I heard his name. My eyebrows creased as I turned my focus outside and watched as the massive ocean continued to move passed the car. A cool hand fell upon my knee and I turned to see Daisuke looking at me. I bit my lip and blushed, remembering the horrible scene my step-brother had to witness earlier this year.
“Yeah, why didn’t he come? Didn’t you ask him, Daisuke?” Abe asked as he turned to look at him.
Daisuke smiled. “Oh, he had some family business to attend to.” He lied. He, in fact, didn’t bother to ask him. Ever since the incident in spring, I noticed that Daisuke and Jeremy’s friendship began to become a bit strained. I suppose I couldn’t blame him. To see your friend trying to have his way with your younger step-brother is a bit of an unpleasant experience. The only reason I even considered coming with them was because I knew Daisuke hadn’t invited Jeremy. I gulped when I felt Daisuke’s now warm hand tighten on my knee.
I looked at him. He smiled at me. The look he gives me so that I could calm down. I nodded at him before I looked back outside at the passing ocean. Ever since that night, Daisuke has been especially cautious and considerate of me. He doesn’t like me going anywhere without telling him. He also tries to make sure I’m always comfortable and never alone. I feel that he’s trying to be a really good brother to me ever since he saved me from Jeremy, but lately he’s been acting strange. Daisuke has been treating me the same since that night, but he also feels a bit closer. I feel that he touches me a lot more; grazing my hand, touching my leg, or just being relatively close to me. It doesn’t bother me at all, it’s the opposite. I want him to touch me more, but I know it’s wrong. He’s just being nice to me and plus I’ve seen how he acts with his friends. He normally touches people that he is really close with.
I bite my lip, holding the urge to smile. Just knowing that he’s touching me like how he touches all his other friends makes me rather happy. It means that he actually feels close to me. We’re step-brothers so the thought of ever having a physical relationship is out of the question, so I’m at least happy that I’m finally close to him at least as a friend.
“We’re here!” Leo called from the front. I turned and saw a two-story yellow and white house. It had four large windows all facing toward the beach that was literally two steps away. Daisuke and his friends all giggled excitedly when they saw it. They quickly stomped out of the car to look at the house.
Daisuke pushed back the seats in front of us and began to climb out of his seat. He turned around to look at me and I froze. “You coming, Shuuichi?” He smiled as he extended his hand to me. I nodded as I slipped my hand into his. I felt the heat rush to my face as he squeezed my hand before leading me out.
“Wow, it sure is big.” Abe remarked when Daisuke and I came out of the van.
Leo smiled as he opened the back of the van. “Yeah.” He started handing each of our luggage before having us head inside the house. After I received my luggage I headed towards the house to look at it closer. It was a beautiful quiet yellow on a silky concrete texture. The trimming of the house was all in white, as well as the patio in the front of it. There was a quaint wooden bench looking out to the ocean on the patio. I smiled at how Western and cute the house was.
A heavy object bumped into my butt. I turned around and saw Daisuke. “Don’t go wandering off by yourself, Shuuichi.”
I looked down. “I just wanted to check out the house a bit more.”
“You can do that with the rest of us. All of us want to check the house out a bit more.” He smiled at me as he used his free hand to ruffle my hair.
The rest of his friends walked to us. “Want to drop off our bags and head to the beach?” Leo asked as he walked up to the front door. “It looks like there’s a party going down at the beach right now.”
“Yes!” The boys exclaimed as all of them headed into the house.
“There are two rooms down here and five upstairs. “ Leo exclaimed as he ran for the first bedroom downstairs. The rest of us looked at each other and Abe and Kento quickly rushed to get the other room downstairs. I stayed still as Abe came back to Daisuke and I. “Guess we get the top floor.” He sighed.
The three of us walked up the stairs. Abe rushed into the room next to the stairs before Daisuke or I could even look inside. We looked at each other before we walked to the rooms at the end of the hall. “You didn’t want to be in a room closer to the staircase?” I asked Daisuke.
He turned and looked at me as he opened the door to the last room in the hallway. “You were going to choose one of the rooms here, right? I want to be as close to you as I can.” He smiled as he waved his hand into the room in front of us. “Isn’t this perfect for you?”
I felt my face burning as I crept closer to Daisuke to look inside the room. The sun gleamed into my eyes. I blinked as my eyes adjusted to see the humongous window that adorned the room. It brightened the teal color of the room and made the white furniture sparkle. I turned to look at him and smiled.
Daisuke smiled back at me. His face glowed as the sun beamed off of him. My heart jumped as I felt his hand settle down onto my back. “Go in, Shuuichi. I’ll be in the room next to you.” His eyes glanced over my face as he removed his hand from my back. “I’m going to change. Did you remember your trunks?” He said as he moved away from me. I nodded. “Good, I’ll be coming over to your room in five minutes, be ready.”
I watched Daisuke as he entered the room next to mine. Slowly I walked into my bedroom and sighed. I wonder if he touches his friends the same way he touches me when he’s alone with them. Or am I thinking that he’s touching me a lot, when he’s actually just touching me less than when he touches his friends? “So, much touching.” I muttered. My face was red when I finally found my trunks.
Simultaneously, I took off my shirt and rummaged through my suitcase to find my sandals. “Ugh.”I said as I bit at my shirt to help me take it off. Suddenly the door slammed open and Daisuke walked into my room. He stood still before he broke off laughing. “What are you doing, Shuuichi?”
“Mm tring a-“ My voice came out in a mumbled mess. Daisuke continued laughing as he closed the door behind him.
“Okay, I get it.” He tried stifling his laughter as he swiftly looked through my bag and took out my sandals. He then took my shirt out of my mouth and sat me down on the bed as he took off my socks. He began to lift my shirt off half way when he stopped. He was still looking down at the area where his hand was holding.
I looked down at his hand and back at his face. “Daisuke?” My mouth quivered as I spoke. He was so close. His barren chest was in front of me, tanned and glowing thanks to the sun still streaming into the room. His eyes drifted up to me. His copper eyes gleamed at me before Daisuke let out a small chuckle.
“Sorry.” He muttered as his hand lifting up my shirt slowly drifted towards my body. He turned his hand so that the back of his hand was parrallel to my body before he slowly began to plant his knuckles onto the middle of my abdominals. Again his hand continued to gently lift off my shirt, never letting his knuckles off of my skin.
I could feel my heart going crazy as I kept my eyes fixated on his chest. His chest began to steadily rise faster the longer he took to take off my shirt. Gradually he placed his other hand on the side of my ribs to help lift the shirt off. I let out a slight sigh of pleasure as I felt his cold hand fully land on my skin. My mouth parted when I saw him take a hard gulp.
We gasped as a knock came from the door. “Hey, Shuuichi, Daisuke’s in there with you right? Are you guys almost done?”
Daisuke quickly let go of my shirt and cleared his throat. “Yeah, he’s almost done. I was just helping him find his sandals. He’s always has trouble finding things.” Daisuke chuckled as he walked to the door. “Hurry up and change, we’ll be waiting downstairs.” Daisuke looked at me before he walked out of the room.
I quickly fell onto my bed as I stared at the ceiling. “What was that?” I sighed as I placed my arm over my eyes. Slowly I placed my other hand onto the line his knuckles made on my body. It was burning. I jumped off my bed as I threw off my shirt and shorts to put on my trunks. I ran to the mirror and breathed air onto it. “Get ahold of yourself. He was just taking your shirt off for you… in a very… erotic way?” My mind began to drift back remembering his sun-kissed skin glow over me; a sweat drop that I didn’t notice at that time began to slide down his neck to his collarbone. I slapped my face. Stop it, I yelled at myself.
I grabbed my sandals as I headed out of the room and stomped down the stairs to meet the other guys downstairs.
“Finally!” Kento jeered. “Let’s go pick up some hotties!”
The two other boys shouted and hollered as they followed after him. I glanced at Daisuke who was smiling as he followed behind them. Slowly my eyes traced the outline of his torso as I followed them. His shoulders were wide and sloped down to his waist, giving him a perfect triangular form. I tightened my fists as I looked down at my body, straight as a board. There was not an inch of muscle anywhere on my body.
“What’s wrong?” Daisuke turned to me.
I shut my mouth as I shook my head. I couldn’t possibly tell him the thoughts that were running through my mind. He’d probably think I was disgusting.
Daisuke cocked his head. He smiled and grabbed my hand as he pulled me to walk beside him. “If we keep walking at your pace we’ll lose the guys. Come on.” He squeezed my hand as he picked up the pace of our walking. Again, he made my face burn. My hand began to feel sweaty as we closed the gap from us to his friends.
Sunday. The beach. 21:45
“So, your name is Daisuke, right?” A girl smiled as she moved closer to Daisuke, noticeably showing off the skin that her bikini and ‘sweater’ allowed her to display. She puckered her lips as the glow from the bonfire revealed her well-curved body and bedroom face. I looked away toward the ocean before I could see his reaction.
I stared at the ocean, blocking the voices of my party and the female party that joined us. I only listened to the waves crashing on the sand and suctioning back into the vast ocean where they came from; I listened to the crackling of the fire as it burned and lighted the area that engulfed us. I breathed in the salt air and slowly moved to the outskirts of our group. I took off my sweater and placed it gently on the floor. I plopped myself down and laid back to watch the glistening of the stars.
I closed my eyes remembering how much fun I had today, trying my best to forget about that woman trying to have a ‘summer fling’ with my step-brother who I loved so dearly.
The moment we stepped on the beach, Daisuke’s friends were already pouncing on girls left and right. Daisuke decided to stay with me the entire time, though. It was already getting dark when we met back with his friends. It was nice being able to hang out with him, one-on-one. It felt like we were bonding… like brothers. I opened my eyes as the stars twinkled back at me.
“Hey, aren’t you lonely here?” I heard a high pitched voice coming closer to me. I sat up, leaning on my elbows as I watched a petite girl in a sailor-style bikini kneel down next to me. “Why don’t you come back and join the group? “ She smiled at me.
I looked at her before I turned back to look at the sea in front of me. “No, I’m fine here.”
“What? Don’t you like hanging out with your friends? Or do you just like hanging out by yourself when there’s a group of people?” She asked as she planted her face in her right hand.
“…It was just getting a bit too loud.” I said as an excuse. Please, take the hint to leave, girl.
The girl planted one of her hands on my shoulder as she tried to balance herself. She giggled. “Sorry. Well, that’s fine. How ‘bout I keep you company?” She smirked as she pressed her weight upon me.
I cringed as I gently grabbed her arm and set her back to her original position. “No, thank you. “ I looked at her again before I completely turned my attention to the ocean.
She scoffed and stood up. “Fine, jerk.” She whispered at me before she returned to the group.
I sighed as I laid back down. I was brought back into the world where people existed. I heard their voices over the ocean and the fire. I heard them talking, yelling, and laughing. The one voice I could not hear was Daisuke’s. Curious, I turned my head back at the group to make sure he hadn’t left anywhere with the girl that was inviting him. But, what if both of them were gone? What would I do? Would I go search for them? Or would I just excuse myself and go back to the house? No, either way I would probably stumble upon them doing things that I would rather not have to see.
I glanced at the party. I gulped when I didn’t see him where he was before I left the bonfire party. He did go with her; I looked at the fire in despair. So, he probably is doing something… with her… My eyes widened when I saw that girl sitting next to Kento now. She’s here? My eyes went wild searching for him and for any missing girls. All of them were accounted for except for Daisuke.
“Here.”
I yelped when I felt a cold item pressed at the nape of my neck. I turned around to see Daisuke standing above me. He laughed. “Who would have thought you had such a cute reaction to being scared, Shuuichi. Maybe I should scare you more often.” He grinned as he sat down next to me.
“Where did you go?” I asked him, trying to hide my embarrassment. I took the bottle of strawberry milk soda he handed to me.
“Obviously, to buy us drinks.” He lifted up his lemon-lime soda. “And, plus, those girls are quite clingy.”
I smiled. “Yeah… One of them came over to me, too.” I looked down at my drink.
Daisuke raised his eyebrows. He took the drink from me and opened it easily. “Really? What did she do?” He passed it back to me.
“Um.” I took a swig of the soda and let the fizzy carbonated drink burst in my mouth. A chill ran through my face before I swallowed. “She just pressed herself on me, but I told her… no, thanks…” I bit my lip.
Daisuke laughed. “You must have hurt that poor girl’s pride.”
“What did you do to the girl that was all over you then?” I pursed my lips as I watched him laugh and drink his soda.
“I lied and told her I was already seeing someone. But, then she didn’t believe me…” He frowned as he remembered. “But, them mom called and luckily I have her real name in my contacts so I told her it was my sweetheart calling.” He said giddily.
I laughed. He turned to me and smiled. I bit my lip as I turned my vision to the sea. “Thanks for the drink.” I mumbled.
“No problem.” He muttered back at me.
Both of us sat still as the ocean breeze swept over our half naked bodies. The laughter of the group by the bonfire slowly faded into just background music as we listened to the loud, calming roar of the waves. I drank more of my soda before I sat it down beside me and laid back down. The stars continued to twinkle at me as I smiled. I closed my eyes as I listened to the ocean and felt the presence of Daisuke next to me; both gave me such a soothing feeling.
“Shuu-i-chi…” Daisuke mumbled into my ear. My eyes shot open. Daisuke’s face was just inches from mine. He smiled as he moved parts of my bangs out of my face. “The guys are heading into town to enjoy the night life with the girls. Did you want to go with them or head back to the house?” He asked as he flashed a text from his phone to me.
I looked at it and then turned to look at our group. The boys were all looking at us, waiting for Daisuke’s reply. “Were you going to go?”
He pursed his lips and closed his eyes to think. “No, I think I’ll head back. I won’t have any fun by going with them and those girls. I mean… I’d rather spend time with my cute little brother.” He smirked as he pushed my head.
I blushed and stood up. “I guess that means I have to hang out with you then, right nii-chan?” I smiled at him.
His smirk slightly dropped before he looked down. He let out a low groan before he picked up my sweater and stood up. He smiled and gave me the sweater as he hustled toward the group. I watched him as he talked quickly to his group of friends. He smiled and giggled slightly as he bowed, apologizing that we were going to call it a night. He lifted his arm and rubbed the back of his head as he continued to talk to them. All the guys then patted his back as he turned around and headed back towards me. “Be good, guys!” He looked over his shoulder as he shouted at them. They laughed and hollered at him. He was laughing hard by the time he made it back to my side. “Come on, Shuuichi.” He smiled as he slid his hand on my waist to my back. A chill surged through my body as I bit my lip and looked straight in front of us as we began to walk.
“Sorry, is my hand cold?” His voiced joked.
My face turned red as I rejected the urge to look at him. “Yeah, a bit.” I managed to get out, not letting my nerves creep out with it.
Daisuke let out a small laugh as his hand slightly squeezed the side of my waist. I jumped. My face was burning when the house finally came into view. As we neared the house Daisuke let go of me and took out the key for the house.
“Wow, it’s so quiet.” Daisuke let out a little sigh when he opened the door to the house.
I nodded in response and headed up the staircase. Each step I took made the floorboards creak. I bit my lip as I listened to Daisuke’s following footsteps. When I reached my room I looked back at him. His room door was opened, letting the moonlight stream into the hallway and illuminate his luscious body in front of me. I gulped before quickly turning my head.
“Were you going to… take a bath first before going to bed?” His voice echoed through the hallway.
I slowly looked back at him. I looked back at my body and touched my chest as I thought about my answer. I rubbed my fingers together. “…I’ll probably take a bath.”
“Want to take one together?”
My heart jumped as I quickly turned my head to look at him. My mouth tightly shut as I stared at him with big eyes. Why does he want to take one together? What does he mean by that? Does he even bathe with his friends, too?
His eyes widened before he laughed. “I mean, uh,” He rubbed his head as he struggled to find the right words. “This house has those big baths. You know like a bathhouse? I just wanted to see if you’d like me to accompany you, since it might be a bit scary going alone because we’re the only ones in this house.”
“Oh.” I sighed with relief. My face was still burning as I placed my hand on my doorknob. “Sure, just… Let me get my stuff.”
Daisuke beamed. “Okay, I’ll get mine and meet you at the staircase.”
I quickly ran into my room and grabbed my toiletries from my opened suitcase. My face burned at the thought of being alone with Daisuke in the bath. I stood still as I breathed in and out. Calm down, I thought to myself. He’s your step-brother, remember? It’s nothing but a friendly gesture. Familial bonding! I giggled as I rushed out of the room. As I skipped toward the staircase, Daisuke saw me and smiled. “What are you so happy about?” He asked.
I bit my lip, trying to hide my happiness. “Nothing.” I lied. Before I knew it we were already inside the changing area of the bathe area. I sighed as I took a towel and tied it around my waist before I took off my trunks. I gulped as I turned around to see the lights brightening Daisuke’s half naked body. Now that we were in the light I could see the small pebbles of sand glistening on his body. I gulped and looked away as he pulled off his trunks.
“Come on, Shuuichi.” Daisuke smiled as he walked into the bathing area.
I nodded and slowly followed him. As we stepped inside the room I gasped. It was much larger than I expected a bathing room to be, especially since it was inside a house.
“It sure is big, huh?” Daisuke laughed as he walked toward the showerheads. “Kento’s folks sure are loaded.” Daisuke began to rinse himself off with water when he turned around to look at me. His eyes looked at me, calling me to join him. Shyly I walked over and plopped myself at the showerhead next to his.
Daisuke began to talk nonstop to me as he washed himself. He talked about school, his friends, and even the tv show that we were watching last week. He laughed at me when all I could do was nod and say yes to everything. What just happened, I asked myself when both of us headed up the stairs back to our rooms. All I could remember was the wall in front of me in the showerhead area and the edging of the bathtub. Not once did I even try to glance at him. I groaned at my ignorance.
“What’s wrong?” Daisuke turned to look at me.
“Um.” I looked at him before glancing at my room, moonlight glowing from its doorway.
“What? Were you scared to sleep in an empty house by yourself?” He chuckled.
I bit my lip as I looked down. His bare feet were firmly planted on the hardwood floors. I cocked my head to the side as I glanced back up at him. “You’re here with me. I won’t be scared… Good night, Daisuke.” His name rolled out of my mouth as I walked passed him to my room. Without glancing back I went inside my room and closed the door. I crept across the room to look out the massive window. Even though the moon was bright, on the beach all you could see were the waves crashing into the sand. The lights from the town sparkled with nightlife and only a few cars ever passed by the house. I jumped when a knock came from my door.
“Shuuichi?” Daisuke peeked into my room. I nodded at him, letting him come in. He shyly smiled as he closed the door behind him and strode over to me. “It’s pretty outside.”
I nodded in agreement as I looked at him. “What did you want?”
His mouth parted. He shyly looked away from me. “I guess, even though I joked about it… It seems that I can’t fall asleep in that room by myself…”
I gently smiled as I looked at him. “Did you want to sleep with me?”
His face shot up to look at me. “Uh.” He coughed and regained his composure. “Do you mind?”
“It’s fine. The bed is big enough for two people anyway.” I smiled as I went to the bed. I looked at him beckoning him to come.
Daisuke smiled. “Thanks.” He went over to the other side and went under the covers. I sat down on the bed and placed my hand on my chest trying to calm myself down. Then I quickly went under the covers and faced away from Daisuke.
“Wow, these beds are comfy.” Daisuke’s voice shook.
I nodded. I wonder if he normally sleeps with his friends. Is this a normal thing to happen? This is the first time I’ve ever slept somewhere other than home, so I wouldn’t know. He’s technically the first person I’ve shared a bed with…
He’s also the closest person that I’ve ever considered as a friend, too. He’s also the first person to ever take an interest in me, like as a person. Well, except for Jeremy… but he wasn’t just interested in making friends with me. So, technically only my family has ever liked me as a person. I’ve never had any friends nor does anyone even talk to me in school. What a sad life, I sighed.
“What are you thinking about?”
I turned over to look at Daisuke. I pursed my lips wondering if I should tell him. “You know… the time back at the festival when I hung out with you and your friends?”
Daisuke remained silent before I saw him touch his hair. “Yes.” He answered angrily.
I breathed in. Of course he would remember he saved me from Jeremy. That’s quite a hard situation to forget. “Well…um…despite certain events I actually had fun. It took me until now to realize that that was my first outing with people other than my family. I’ve never had any friends to hang out with, like you do. It was a very nice experience.” I said happily as I looked at Daisuke.
I listened as he breathed lightly. Suddenly he dropped his hand on my forehead and rubbed my hair. “I’m your friend, Shuuichi. Whenever you want to hang out just come to me, I’ll go wherever you want to go.”
“But, you’re family.”
“And, a family member can’t be your friend? And plus… honestly, I’ve never seen you as my brother. I can’t.” Daisuke began to speak lower. My heart dropped.
“What do you mean?” I stuttered.
“Ah. Don’t get me wrong. I love you as if you were family. I feel very close to you, Shuuichi. But ever since our parents told us that we were brothers I never felt happy to be your brother. I never understood why I felt that way until that night that I found Jeremy on you… I finally understood the bond I felt with you, that was neither family nor friend…” His voice shook as he spoke.
“Didn’t you just say I was your friend?” I asked confused as tears began to form at the corners of my eyes.
Daisuke sat up and placed his hand on the side of my face as he stared at me. “Yes…no… Shuuichi, I feel close to you like family, I want to have fun with you like a friend, but I want more from you than either of the titles of brother or friend can provide.”
I paused as my eyes looked at the ceiling behind him. My mouth parted as my eyes slowly crept back on his face to see his two eyes staring at me warily. He clenched his hands lightly as he began to move away from me.
“But… I know how weird it sounds. And how disgusting I may seem to you. But, earlier today when I took off your shirt I was sure…” He paused and sat down on his side of the bed, looking down at his hands as he remembered.
I gulped as I sat up and slowly inched closer. Could this really be happening? Does Daisuke feel the same way as I do? Did he feel that heat that burned inside of me as he touched my bare skin with his hands? I reached out and gently touched his cheek that was out of my vision. I slowly made his face turn to look at me. “Daisuke… I liked it.” I managed to get out as I felt my body tremble with happiness and nervousness.
His eyes widened. His hand slowly reached out and touched the bangs that fell on my face. His eyes watched his own hand movement as it made its way to my lips. He used his thumb to caress my bottom lip. His eyes shot up to meet mine. “What does it mean when you say you liked it?”
My mouth parted as I went on my knees and climbed onto Daisuke’s lap. “It means I want more from you, too.” I pressed my lips on top of his as I closed the gap between our bodies. Daisuke responded back and grabbed my hair as he intensified our kiss. Our tongues began to twirl inside eachother's mouths. I moaned as he broke our kiss to kiss my collar bone. A surge of electricity ran through my body as I felt his teeth nibble onto my bone. I groaned as I pushed my erect self onto his own penis.
He groaned. “Stop that, Shuuichi.” He said in a huffed voice.
I giggled as I nuzzled my face into his damp hair. I used all my weight to push him against the dashboard of the bed. My hands made their way under the light tank top that he was wearing and slowly took it off of him. I gazed at his skin as the moonlight allowed me to see the shadows of his abs. I glanced at his face that stared back at me. He softly smiled as he placed his hands underneath my own shirt and slowly lifted it off. His mouth seemed to water as he gazed back at my skin. I blushed when he placed the back of his hand and slid it down my chest. “What are you doing?” I asked silently.
He looked up at me. “Memorizing your body.” He smiled as he placed his mouth on my side and nibbled. I gasped. Slowly I felt as his hand made its way into my boxers. His hand shook as he grasped onto my member. I gulped loudly as I felt his cool hand warm with the heat of my penis. My mouth searched for his own mouth as he began to slowly stroke it. When they met, a surge of moans crept out of my mouth as I felt the sweetness of his tongue inside my mouth and the strong grasp of his hand on my penis. I moved my face away from his as his strokes began to speed up. I let out a small gasp as I felt myself cum into his hand. I breathed heavily on top of him for a few seconds before I felt his hand slowly make its way to my rear. I held him closer as my face flushed. He’s going to put it in? I asked myself nervously.
He chuckled in my ear. I tightened my grip on him as I felt his finger slowly enter me. Moving back and forth, inside and out; it made me feel weird. I breathed out in ecstasy when he hit a certain area inside me. “Shuuichi. Can you loosen you grip, please?” Daisuke laughed in a strangled voice. I jumped and backed away from him. He smiled gently at me. I gasped as I felt him add another finger inside of me. My face blushed as I looked at him, he was watching my reactions with pleasure. My heart that was already going crazy felt like running away. I quickly turned my body away from him, trying to hide my face. I felt his body move up on me as his fingers continued to enter me. “Don’t do that. I want to see you, Shuuichi.” He cooed as he kissed my hip bone. I shook my head. He breathed on me. “Well… that’s fine. This is a nice view, as well.” I quickly peeked from my hands to see him staring at me from my crotch area. A strange noise came out of me as he moved his mouth onto my still erect member. Slowly he licked the base of it as he made his way up to the tip. I closed my eyes, feeling both the sensation of his fingers inside me and the sensation of me inside his wet and smooth mouth. I groaned in ecstasy as my body reacted with a hip thrust as I came inside Daisuke’s mouth.
I heard him gulp as he took his fingers out. I glanced at him as I felt him pick up my hips. Cum trickled out of his mouth as he pressed his member near where it was about to go. “I’m going to go in.” He murmured as he looked at me. I tightened my jaw as I nodded. I felt his fingers widen the entrance as his erect penis entered me. My body jerked back as something foreign entered inside. I heard his breathing speed up as he muttered something under his breath. My insides tightened up as I felt him slowly move out. I shivered as he moved back inside. I gasped as he began to slowly get a rhythm with each of his thrusts. A high moan escaped my mouth as I arched my back as I felt him pound deep inside of me. It was good, hot, and delicious. He groaned as I felt wet, hot liquid fill inside me. Slowly his thrusts decreased until he stopped. My back relaxed as I looked at him. Both of us were breathing hard. He was about to pull out when I moved back into the position I originally was in, on top of him. I stared at him before I kissed his ear. “Not yet.”
Monday. Beach house. 9:35
“Daisuke and Shuuichi, you guys should have come with us. It was amazing. They showed us the clubs in the city and they even met up with some more of their friends. It was amazing.” Abe shouted as he munched on his cereal. The other boys nodded at us as they drank some orange juice. “Better yet, they told us to meet them later today, too. I bet by the end of this week all of us will gotten ourselves a girlfriend.” He winked.
I smiled as I nibbled on a piece of toast. Daisuke shoved a plate of eggs in front of me. “That’s not going to be enough for you. We have a big day today.”
I looked at him and then the other guys. All of them were eating only cereal and even Daisuke was only having toast, too. I was about to shake my head when Daisuke put a hand in front of my face. “Eat, Shuuichi.” He sat down next to me before he looked back at his friends. “Nah, it’s fine. Shuuichi and I had a fantastic time ourselves. We were thinking of hanging out at the cove we saw yesterday. You guys can hang out with those girls.”
“But, what about our ‘summer fling’?” Abe whined.
Daisuke smiled as he placed his hand on my thigh and squeezed, hiding his movements under the table. “No, thanks. I’d rather have something more serious than just a one-time summer thing.” The other boys shrugged and began talking with each other. They laughed and jeered at what events they should do with the girls today. I bit my lip before I began to eat the eggs Daisuke gave me. Daisuke leaned into me and whispered. “And plus, you were so much hotter than any of those girls could be, right, Shuuichi?”
I blushed as I rolled my eyes. “That’s right, so you better never cheat on me nii-san.”
"Hey, is it true you have a date with your girlfriend tonight?"
"What the hell? Does everyone know already?"
"Of course you told Blabber-Mouth Bou! You just wanted everyone to know didn't you!"
Laughter filled the otherwise empty room. "You caught me!"
Footsteps echoed as the last four students left the classroom. Well, except for me...
I sighed as I packed my items into my school bag. I quietly scooted my chair desk before I headed to the door. I silently walked through the halls to the shoe rack by the school's exit. I listened to club activities and all of the remaining students chattering and chuckling. I slowly switched from my school slippers into my outdoor shoes. I shivered as I walked out into a gust of cold air.
Quietly I passed the school gates into the sidewalk, I passed two neighborhoods before passing a park and then four more neighborhoods until I finally reached my block. I entered my front gate and then the front door. "I'm home." I muttered.
"Welcome home!" My mother shouted from the kitchen. The music of pots clanging and stew brewing played in the background.
"Hey, welcome home!" My brother passed me in the hallway. "Mom, I'm going now!"
"Be safe! And, have fun!" You could hear her smile as she called to him. "Next time you should take Shuuichi, Dai! It'll help you bond more."
He laughed. "It's not his thing." He politely smiled at me as he opened the front door. "Is it, Shuuichi?"
I stood still on the first step of the stairs until he closed the door behind him, then I proceeded walking up the stairs toward my room. I closed my door behind me, placed my bag on the floor, and collapsed into my bed. Just another ordinary day.
Home Saturday 8:45
"Morning, Shuuichi." Mom smiled at me.
"Good morning." I mumbled.
"Hey! Mom, morning! Morning, Shuuichi." Daisuke strolled into the dining room and plopped himself in the seat in front of mine. "Did Tatsu leave already?"
"Yes, and you know how I hate you calling him that! Call him, dad." She stuck her tongue out at Daisuke. Daisuke and mom are related by blood. But, I'm related to them by marriage. My dad married my now mom about 2 years ago. I zoned out as I ate the toast mom laid out for us.
"Shuuichi?"
"I'm sorry, what?" I blinked, confused. Both of them stared at me. Mom smiled.
"What were your plans today? Dai is going out with his friends to the festival. And, if you wanted to..." I stared at her for a moment. She really wishes that we could get along well, I thought. I turned to look at Daisuke. He looked fine, not caring if I came or not.
"Um, if it's alright..."
"Great!" She exclaimed. "Oh, I wish I knew about this before then I could have gotten your robes ready."
"Come on, mom! Two grown men walking around in yukata! Not cool." He stood up and chugged down his green tea. "Come one, Shuuichi. My friends were going to hang out around the city before we went."
"Okay." I cringed.
The City 11:12
"Seriously, how long does it take for you to get ready, Kento?" The boys laughed and pushed their shorter friend.
"I needed to look nice for the ladies, of course." Kento slicked back his hair, pretending to act like a famous person.
The boys laughed hysterically. I looked at all the shops we passed by, trying not to stray away from the group. The group walked into a nearby arcade and started playing random games. I stood by where Daisuke was. As uncomfortable as the situation was, I was glad he didn't try to ditch me anywhere yet.
"Hey, you're Daisuke's lil' bro, right?"
I turned to look at the person next to me. He was blonde and had hazy-colored chesnut eyes. He was the newest person to Daisuke's group of friends. I nodded. "I'm Tanaka Shuuichi."
He flashed his white teeth as he smiled widely at me. "I'm Matsumoto Jeremy. You don't seem the type to be hanging out here. You look more like you should be in the library or something, don’cha think?"
I thought a bit. Neither setting was really me. I'd more likely be stuck in my room or-
"He's more of an outdoor person than he looks." Daisuke put his hand on my head and chuckled. "He really likes parks and riverbed areas."
"Oh" Jeremy tilted his head and smiled at me. I felt his eyes wander down before he spoke again. "I can see it. The lonely, mysterious type guy. The one always alone, but looking like he's having some intelligent, deep thoughts."
The person playing the game that we were all huddled by burst out laughing. "What the hell is that, Matsumoto! 'The alone, intelligent, deep looking' type of guy! Geez. Tanaka-san, do NOT listen to any of the crap this foreigner says!"
"What the hell is that, Abe-kun!" Jeremy pushed the guy. Both of them laughed as I began to zone out to their playfulness. I felt Daisuke moving away from the group, so naturally I began to follow for him, but suddenly Jeremy grabbed my arm.
"Hey, Shuu..." He stared at me for a second. He grinned at me with a look that confused me. My heat began to rise and my heart drummed in it's cage. "Make sure to stick next to me during the festival. I'd like to get to know you a little better."
Festival 20:06
I silently followed Jeremy, like he told me. I listened to all the children laughing and all the teenagers giggling around me. Music was playing and you could hear the food crackling as it cooked. I watched all the couples go by, all the girls Daisuke's friends called out to, and all the families having fun.
"Hey, do you guys want to hang out with us?" A group of five girls came up to us. All of them wearing somewhat lewd outfits.
The guys were all drooling over them. I sighed an looked around for something, then I found it. A seat by the takoyaki booth. I walked away and sat there watching them interact with the girls. One of them pushed up against Daisuke then I looked away. I was staring at the sky when Jeremy sat next to me. "There you go again. Looking all lonely and mysterious." He muttered something before he grinned at me. "I thought I told you to stick by me."
"Sorry." Why did I have to apologize, I questioned myself.
"What, not good with girls?" Jeremey seemed excited by this thought.
"No, I..." I thought about it. "I just don't care for that type."
"Oh?" Jeremy lifted an eyebrow. "Then what is your type?"
Again, I looked away. Looking at all the people passing by and looked at the group of guys again. "Well, not them." I gestured with my chin at the girls pushing themselves on our group.
Jeremy laughed. "Well, yeah. I'm not into them either." He stayed quiet before starting again. "But, you know..." He put his hand on my thigh. "I was thinking that you're more my type." Again, he stared at me with that intense gaze. I had no idea what to do. I felt hot.
"Hey, what are you two doing?" Daisuke came up to us. He looked at the two of us. Jeremy quickly pulled his hand away. Daisuke looked down at the swift movement he made. "Um, just letting you know that we're heading toward where the fireworks are going to be."
"Ah, okay!" Jeremy smiled again. "But, me and Shuu here are going to got to the restroom first. We'll catch up later, ok?"
Daisuke's ears perked up, surprised. "Oh, sure. Just hurry up or you'll miss it."
"Uh huh." Jeremy nodded. He stood up and grabbed my hand, pulling me up with him. "We'll try to be fast."
********
Deep breathing surrounded me. It was not only my own, but also Jeremy’s. My face was red and my heart was pounding like a drum. Jeremy was above me. Kissing me, rubbing against me. I liked it, yet I didn't.
"You'll like this part." He muttered as he pushed his hand down my pants. Rubbing my member, intensely. Playing with it. "God you're so hot."
Suddenly his other hand pulled down my pants all the way. He grabbed my bottom and placed it on top of his lap. His member fully erected. He leaned toward my ear. "I'm going to fuck you so hard you'll be begging me for more."
My body tensed. I don't want this, my mind scream. "N-" Escaped. The way his hands moved on my body made him think I was in pleasure. I wasn't. I tried resisting, he only thought I was wanting more. I started crying, he smiled thinking I was enjoying it.
After his fingers were done inside me, he pulled out his penis... I gasped. Please no, I yelled in my head. Please no, please no! "No!" I shouted, I screamed.
Jeremy only cringed. "Shut the fuck up or we'll be caught!" I struggled and kept screaming. Finally, he pulled his shirt off and stuffed it in my mouth. "There just stay like that 'til I'm done."
"What the fuck are you doing?" A voice came from my right.
Jeremy looked up. "Um..."
"Get off him!!!" Daisuke screamed, pushing Jeremy off me. He took out the shirt from my mouth and tossed it at Jeremey.
"What the hell, Jeremy!"
"What, it was consensual!" Jeremy tried laughing it off. Daisuke looked at him and then at me.
"The hell, this was consensual! Look at him! This wasn't consensual!!! Come here you gay rapist!!!" Daisuke roared at Jeremy. He began to lunge for him, but Jeremy was out of there. "Get back here! Let me kick your sorry ass!!!"
I watched Daisuke. My eyes began to fill with tears again. “Thank you, thank you, thank you." I continued sputtering my word through a mouth full of saliva. "Daisuke..." I shivered and curled up.
I felt him come toward me. "I'm sorry, Shuuichi... Here, put on your clothes."
I didn't move. I couldn't. I felt frozen and scared.
He paused for a moment. "Let me help you, Shuuichi." He placed his hand on my knee. Slowly, I allowed my left leg to follow his command. He put my boxers half way on and then he moved my right leg in it. He did the same with my pants, before he helped me up. He pulled off his jacket and placed it on my shoulder.
"Shuuichi,..." I looked at him, ashamed. "I won't ever allow someone to touch you like that ever again. Do you hear me? I won't let anyone touch you." His eyes were full of courage, loyalty, determination, but most of all love. The one and only time I've ever felt any love from my brother. But, I finally understood. I didn't like the thought that he was never going to see me as anything but his almost-raped brother...
I made this story while basically listening to Switchfoot’s “Dare You to Move”, thus the name.
But, once I started editing it, particularly the second half, I listened to Miley Cyrus’ “Adore You” and I think it fits nicely for the latter half of the story. I like having/basing my stories off of playlists. So, maybe I’ll write which ones are for which. I also base characters off of music , too.
DYTM is a BL short story about a shy boy and him trying to be less anti-social by getting closer to his step-brother and his group of friends. In the first half, some things happen that leave him with a sour taste of trying to be social, but in the second half it’s a lighter story of him becoming closer to his step-brother.
Setting: Japan
This was during my super duper otaku years, thus, like a lot of my stories, have Japanese names in them.
WARNING: Contains rape-like scenes in the first half, but it gets stopped.
SO, the next two stories I’m going to post are short stories that are NSFW BL stories. One of them actually has a hint of rape, so just a forewarning. These two are some of my only BL works at the moment and they were written roughly four to six years ago, so they’re really rough works. BUT, both are completed.
Honestly, the one with rape in it (SPOILER: which actually doesn’t happen, its basically an attack but an unfulfilled one.) is pretty good in the second half. If I do say so myself. LOL. I’ll write their blurbs and then post them shortly!
ALSO, I won’t be posting how these characters look because the stories are too short. All the other stories are longer, thus, more details about the characters.
I scream as I jump out of my seat. I bend down and scream into my knees, holding my hands to my ears to help get rid of the images popping through my head. Quick, fast, and burning. My mind is burning. I see the fire, my house. It is burning and everything inside is burning as well. I scream in my memory and I scream as I remember this memory. My family, they are all gone, but I was saved. I am safe, but I did nothing to save them. Why am I here? What is my purpose? My mind is screaming with the fire.
“Mistress.” I hear the three of them whisper in the back of my mind, back where the darkness is. Trapped, they are trapped just as I am trapped in this horrible reality with no family. I am alone, alone as I watch the people I love burning to death.
“Vivienne.” A voice sooths the fire inside my head. “Vivienne.” I awaken as the darkness replaces the fire. My eyes fixate to see the boy with the burning-coal eyes in front of me. I stare into his eyes, and everything feels better. He stares at me with a worried face before he hears a voice behind him and moves. It’s Ichi, Dr. Nakamura’s assistant. He bends down where the boy was and gently opens my eyelids wider and flashes light into both of them. He whispers something to the boy and he starts telling his classmates to go outside. He returns and kneels beside him. “So, what was that?” He asks in a whisper.
“It must have been a panic attack. She probably remembered something and panicked.” Ichi says as he takes out a pen and paper and begins scribbling in it. My eyebrows jump in surprise as I finally hear his voice. I bite down on the inside of my lip as I watch them both exchange words I couldn’t follow. They both look alike, except Ichi has a mysterious gray color to his eyes.
“Ms. Vivienne.” I jump again when I hear his voice. It’s not scary, just unexpected for me to hear someone other than the boy. He continues, probably thinking I wouldn’t reply anyway,” Do you remember what triggered your attack?” He waits and just scribbles into the paper. After I don’t respond he asks, “Was it something you were doing? Or perhaps something you saw?” He pauses again.
The boy sighs as he looks at Ichi. “You’re not going to get anything out of her. You already told me that her mind is pitch-black. Not even you, the number-one-mind-reader could even crack through that goo in her mind.” He sits up and goes to the window. I look over to Ichi, who is still waiting for a response.
What does he mean mind-reader, I ask myself. What does this boy mean, I look back at him. I suck on the blood pouring out of the gash in my mouth before I open my mouth. “What is your name?” I ask as I cock my head. He’s been here ever since I was living in the hospital and he’s been everywhere I have so far, yet I still don’t even know his name. It really disturbs me.
He looks back at me, his eyes showing bewilderment. I look back at Ichi. “Do you know?” He is shocked as well. Ichi as well as the boy have always been by my side since I have gotten here. But, only today have I found out Ichi’s name, but I still don’t know the boy’s.
Ichi breaks the silence as he begins laughing. “For three months you have been here at this academy and the first time you speak is to ask his name? Oh, this is great!” He continues to laugh and jerk his leg. “Oh really, sweetheart. If only I could just swim through that gunk in your head, I wonder what kind of mysteries I would discover.” He smiles as tears of laughter stream down the right side of his face. “Well, you going to answer her, lil’ bro?”
The boy walks to us and kneels down in front of me. His eyes searching mine as his lips part. “Hikaru Ren.” He glares at me. “And I control fire.”
“Now, now.” Ichi pushes Hikaru away from my face. I began to dig my teeth into my mouth skin again. Fire. So much fire. Ichi tilts his head and places his hand on my face. He smiles. “It’s okay.” He coos. “I’m Ichiro Ren. I’m in charge of the patients of Doctor Nakamura. My ability is to look inside people minds as well as various other things. You will be alright, Vivienne.” He removes his hand and scribbles more down.
I look at him before moving my eyes back on Hikaru. He was back staring out the window, at the sun which faded behind the clouds. “Ability... What’s my ability?”
Ichi continues to write on the paper as he speaks. “We don’t know.” He simply states. “Tonight you won’t be sleeping in the hospital anymore. You will be in the dorms with the other students.” He changes the subject. “You’re roommate will be Hikaru.”
“What?” Hikaru yells. His eyes burn red as the temperature begins to rise in the area near him.
“You’re the only one we can trust and you also are the only one in the dorms with a vacant roommate space. So, we discussed it and she is moving in with you. Not like you’ll do anything, right?” Ichi chuckles, either completely ignorant of the fact that his brother’s hands are on fire or just so used to it he doesn’t mind anymore.
Fire. More fire. I crease my brows as my chest begins to thump loudly. The goo melts away to the house again. To the night breeze that should have a soothing feeling but is only doused with the heat coming off of the house. I must help them. Why am I here? I should be inside with them. I need to help them. Help them. Help.
“Viv-“ William tries to call after me.
“Vivienne.” I jolt back to see that the flames have left Hikaru’s hands. Both he and Ichi stare at me with concerned eyes.
Ichi sighs as he writes something else down. “Of course. It’s the fire. Fire is giving you panic attacks. Well, you did have a traumatic experience with it. Of course you’d be scared. Or course.” He mumbles as he stands up and walks toward the door. “Ah. Take her to the dorm room, Hikaru, will you? You and she don’t need to attend for the rest of the day.” He leaves before Hikaru could answer.
He sighs. “What a horrible roommate they chose for you, then. Especially since you can’t stand fire.” He gives a hard laugh as he finished the last word. “Come on.” He nods toward the door. I stay sitting and stare up at him. “I know your feet can move. Come on.” I stand up and follow him. I follow him by watching his back, ignoring the blurry images surrounding us.
He shows me to a room that is split into two different directions. One way is to his room the other is to mine. The kitchen and the living room are in the middle of both rooms. He explains that we have our own bathroom connected to the room. “So, other than breakfast and dinner you will not see me. You might not even see me during those times.” He looks away from me as he talks to me. “And make sure you don’t accidentally go into my room. Don’t even do it on purpose. Just make sure you don’t go into my room. If you do, I’ll make sure to leave you with an even worst memory with fire than the one you already have.” He raises his voice before he stomps toward his room.
“But, what is a worse memory than losing your family right before your eyes and being powerless to stop it?” I mutter before he opens his door. He stops before his throws his door open and leaves into his fortress.
I stand there for a few minutes before deciding to see the room that is mine. It’s a plain room, but big. It has a full bed, garnished with a black quilt and black and white sheets. The walls are painted light blue and dark blue. There is a desk with a lamp next to the door that I assume is the bathroom. On the other side is a door to a closet and next to it an armoire. I collapse into the bed, it jiggles. “Oh.” I hold myself. It’s a water bed? I get off the bed and examine it further. No… I poke the bed; it feels like a regular bed. I can’t find a tag and decide to give up. I jump back on the bed, and it jiggles less than the first time. Much better, I think as I sink into a deep sleep.
There is humming inside my head. I smile as I listen to a familiar song. William is humming to Antoinette and Abigail. He smiles and it almost seems like it is directed at me, but of course how could that happen? He is merely some strange figment of my imagination.
“No, I’m not.” He giggles at me. He licks his lips as he looks down to make sure he didn’t wake up the girls. “Viv, I am a bit more than your figment of imagination. I know you’re very creative, but you are not this creative.” He smiles at me, slyly. “Now, go to sleep. Hard times are about to fall upon you.” He says sadly. “But, don’t forget. We will always be here for you. And, I will make sure to always be protecting you.”
All the stage names for the characters in KNIGHTS are either based on fruits or colors, with the exception of Anzu whom’s named after a nut.
All the fruits are people specifically chosen by Ryoma. These idols are usually the ones that will be extremely successful for the company, Ryoma has a better eye than his brother thus in order to show which idol is chosen from either brother they decided to name that like this. He named the ones he thought would be extremely successful after his favorite fruit. Strawberries are his #1 fruit and oranges are his #2, thus Ichigo and (o)Renji’s stage names.
Eiji chose colors since there’s more variety of colors. Most of the company’s idols are named by him since Ryoma is extremely picky about his idols.
But, Momoiro is also kind of a different story, like Anzu. Anzu was named after a nut because Ichigo actually convinced the brothers to get him, plus he was transferred from another company which KNIGHTS usually never does. But, MOmoiro could be classified as a color or a fruit. Whenever he does something extremely successful people usually refer to him as Momo (Peach), but whenever it’s a normal stage or interview he is referred to as Momoiro (pink).
Company: Kodomo Teens; (later; after he turns 18) KNIGHTS
Orientation: Straight
Personality: Anzu is a person full of determination and because of that he has a tendency of being stubborn. He’s a realist. He’s pretty mature for someone his age, but don’t let that fool you, he’s still a teenage boy at heart. He know when to give up; he knows when he’s lost and, not only does he have the guts to admit it, he also doesn’t act like a sore loser. Most of the people that encounter him tend to feel happier because he tends to radiate happiness, except when he’s feeling down.
History: Anzu doesn’t really remember much of his childhood since he debuted into Kodomo Teens when he was 10 years old. He lived in company housing with all the other adolescent idols until he was in high school. He was then moved to the teen housing.
His whole life he only remembered being an entertainer, he acted, sang, and even modeled. One year since entering the company he was placed into a band full of other children and teens from the company.
At 15 he was made the leader of said band and all of the band members were now all teenagers. But, he got replaced when he was 16 because the company believed this individual would profit more than Anzu. They believed that this newbie was the reason to the band’s success, which was partially true, but it was actually Anzu’s leadership skills, songs lyrics, and the new demeanor of the band that made them succeed like no other idol/band had done for the company.
At 18, the year Kodomo Teens usually ends contracts with most of their idols due to them being too old and unsuccessful for them (they only kept 18+ idols if they were profitable), Anzu joined KNIGHTS after they personally brought an invitation to him. Blinded by the newbie that took Anzu’s leader position, Kodomo Teens lost the best idol they’ve ever had in their company. Two years after he left them, the company went under.
