gravity is widely known to be a purple element
I don't think Mhach gets enough credit for never half-assing anything. They took down Nym by infecting them all with a demonic rage fish virus AND tossing the city into an artificial black hole. To escape the ensuing deluge, instead of a normal airship they built a giant coffin-shaped aircraft powered by hundreds of demons (also in coffins) and it shoots lasers that open a portal to hell. There's an ENTIRE SECTION of this ship solely dedicated to preserving all of their evil plants. They won a centuries-long wizard war and escaped their ensuing karmic punishment only to be immediately eradicated by all the demons they wouldn't stop summoning. Portions of their city are still on fire over a thousand years later. 10/10 no notes truly the best ever to do it
Is there a class your WoL/OC canonically refuses/fails to learn?
A tanking class
A caster class
A ranged class
A melee class
A healer class
More than one
No, just classes they aren't interested in
Regardless of what you the player level, what goes on in the lore? Do they struggle with aether therefore casting or healing is a struggle? Don't like up close combat? Want to meet your opponent face to face, not attack from afar? Don't want to be a leader and charge into battle first?
Got into a fight with one of the job mentors? Started one and shit went sideways so they got out?
Be as vague or as specific as you want in the reblogs and replies.

WoLQotD
What are some pointless facts about your WoL/OC? Things that you decided about them but has no deep bearing on the plot or their person on a deep level.
- Rin can summon three two kinds of carbuncle but he considers them all the same entity, and they all have the same name
- He is banned for life from the Gold Saucer for card counting, and will get really indignant about it if you bring it up even though he has no actual desire to go to the Gold Saucer ever again
- He drinks enormous amounts of black tea but has no discernment at all. He lets everything steep for like a minimum of ten minutes until it's so bitter it will turn your mouth inside out
- His favorite food is fried locusts
- He has read nearly every book about the War of the Magi published in Eorzea -- including all twenty-and-counting volumes of the infamously trashy erotic romance series "The Indiscretions of Mhach", which he may have started out of vague scholarly interest but is now genuinely invested in
- He once wrote an opinion piece about how the classification "vilekin" should be renamed because it doesn't have the appropriate level of scholarly neutrality
I didn't expect these to take off so much! There were some things that didn't fit on the first sketch page (and I had *a lot* of people asking for the extras) so I wanted to try and get some of these out before I moved on to other headcanons about teens/adults.
I also kinda wanna toss up some for other races too :eyes:
want to get an all scholars in tonberry costumes run of dun scaith to happen. revenge of nym. someone make this happen
Eleanor update!
She is. Up.
Growing Hands, a series I drew quite a long time ago at this point at a bad part of my life. I do feel like I've grown up since I made these, which is a relief.
Once you get to a certain level of advanced maths, you basically become a wizard.
this is what a page of my wizards spellbook looks like
My boyfriend glanced at my phone from like five feet away and went “oh you looking at the standard model” like SIR why can you recognize this equation by shape
Because he's a wizard. Weren't you paying attention?
you make a compelling point. he IS a wizard

very satisfying to me that somehow my decade of FFXIV roleplay intersected seamlessly with my unrelated decades-long love of this minor Final Fantasy character to make my FC house the perfect backdrop for screenshots of this specific outfit
The Occult Crescent makes it really clear that Great Boss Arenas are a deep cultural part of all people across time and space. I mean, sure, lately in EW and DT we've been having some real wonky strange or impromptu boss arenas that we've had to cobble together spur of the moment or make do with, but this is taking us right back to our roots, to remember our forebears all really prioritised public areas with clear flat surfaces, perhaps with ominously evenly spaced lines, shapes or markers that neatly line up with potential bursts of spell effects. I think the era of of the War of the Magi in a way epitomises societies that had to shape their whole civic engineering around the potential that a sick wizard battle might take place and provided ample facilities for such activities, perhaps to help spare the civilian areas of a town or city by containing such fights in designated areas. The Occult Crescent preserves Awesome Battle Arenas of multiple types and purposes in their original cultural context (e.g. bottom of a weird cave, inside an ominous pyramid) but also exemplifies shaping your society to have appropriate areas for fights to spill over harmlessly (big courtyard, nice clearing in the forest).
(G'raha leans over Frog's shoulder to see what she's writing and sighs, leaves her to it muttering, "This would be your archon thesis...")
#city budget: road maintenance 500g; welfare 2000g; sick wizard battle arena 10000000000000g#someone help me budget this. my civilization is dying @unionizedwizard
