MAJOR UPDATE

Hey Everyone, so my boyfriend was able to get his job back 🎉

However... I myself am still out of work. We can survive off my boyfriend's paycheck (did last month before this whole thing) but this was really scary and I'd like to work on having some extra savings in the meantime in case something else unpredictable happens. I'm working towards getting my own job at the moment (and an actually longterm career at that), but I'm still going to keep these open so we can have some safety funds!

You remember the many names you would wear and then toss away, never once realizing you crossed the line into sentience before you where ever ready to accept it.

You fear people may see through the face you so lovingly painted for yourself. Your humanity simply a skin you wear to contain the black dripping animal you still are. Deep down.

You remember speaking bile to the others, you remember your black tar staining their coats and face. How you’d encase them in your own fear, in your own newly formed belief of “I know Best”.

But every couple of weeks you start throwing up flowers again, and you have to think of 5 different things you may or may not be communicating because repression is such a nasty habit for you.

You have a chronic sore throat, you take pain meds and have a daily routine to soothe your throat. You know every trick in the book dealing with the irritation of your lungs and mouth from the flowers, and it isnt even because of some silly crush. But because you didn’t tell your roommate you where slightly annoyed at the dishes this morning that triggered another week of coughing up flowers.

Hanahaki disease is a psychosomatic illness. It's a thing that your body does in response to stress over constantly repressing/concealing your feelings in settings with high background magic. It's like you've been ignoring pain for a long time and suddenly your vision starts going dark, because your affected body is just YANKING on random alerts trying to get you to PAY ATTENTION there is a PROBLEM. Yes the flowers do really exist. So do non-magical psychosomatic symptoms. The flowers aren't special.

This does of course open up the trope to options for non-romantic concealed feelings. Which I think is great. There is something viscerally satisfying about the person who seems so outwardly chipper coughing and hacking and spitting up Depression Flowers so now everyone has to know they're hurting. shout out to an ex friend from highschool dropping me when they found out I engaged with The Coffin of Andy and Leyley and that I liked incest as a fictional troupe. Not that I was actively apart of the fandom, just that I engaged with it at all.

mind you: me and my family housed them for years rent free, zero expectations, and my house was an explicit safe house for them from their abusive father for years before they got kicked out. When we moved out together, I was the only one that worked, payed for food, and payed our half of the rent to our roommate. They did nothing lol. I also stood up to our roommate at the time on their behalf, multiple times. I also then convinced my parents to allow us to both move back in so we wouldn’t be homeless when said roommate kicked us out, and again I payed for our food lol.

I have liked incest since (at least) highschool. I used to have over 300 pictures of sans undertale porn on my phone that majority consisted of Fontcest. I openly shipped Rickorty after that. (I know they’re a system so it makes sense they might have genuinely just forgotten that but like, it was never really a secret is my point. I mainly didn’t tell them about my engagement in the present because I knew it made them uncomfortable, so I just kept it to myself. In fact, the only reason they even found out is because their boyfriend and best friend at the time “figured it out” though some backwards ass shit and then basically blackmailed me with the information. They (the friend) then chose to call the boyfriend and have him yell at me for 20 minutes over shit I had no control over (mainly my own system), which included him calling me a disgusting freak and lowkey fakeclaiming my system/trauma related to incest because I had the audacity to not tell my ex friend I got into an indie game.

You know how ex friend responded to that?

Tricking me into letting them use my computer so they could look through it and give themself screenshots of private conversations between me and my boyfriend at the time :D.

I let them because they said they were in a lot of pain and couldn’t sit at their desktop and they wanted to watch a movie with their boyfriend. So I let them! Egg on my face for being a good friend I guess!

At one point they finally moved back in with their own parents, to which they (the parents) then decided to ship them off to live with their aunt on the other side of the country. We had a final lunch together that the ex friend insisted on us having as a final goodbye before they moved out of state.

I then got kicked from their personal server, which they lied to me about. Telling me they kicked everyone during a paranoia episode. Turns out, it was just me. And it was mostly so they could start shit talking me.

Then, in their own words, said they’re only keeping me around because I gave them money. I only found out about this because someone in the server decided to talk to me instead of just believing whatever they said. Then when said person left because they where uncomfortable with the cruelty, they excused their behavior (making fun of me. Using me for money and housing) because I supposedly SA-ed them in highschool.

Which I don’t know what I need to say to tell you i didn’t considering all the shady shit they have done thus far OVER A FUCKING INDIE GAME ????

6 years.. 6 years since this stupid block man wormed his way into my head and never left. I have a lot of complicated feelings about c!Wilbur (some heavily related to his Creator/Actor, some to his writing, some about his ending, etc) but to deny my deep love for this character or how he affected me would simply be a lie. Wilbur as a character helped me through my first major psychotic episode, helped me through major system reactivity and host changes, he changed the way I thought about characters and stories. His depiction of a character who through his mental illness done hurtful things, ultimately ended up forgiven. A character with so much self hate and guilt, still ended up... happy. Safe, loved. Regardless of anything, he meant something.

He has impacted my taste for fictional characters in ways that I still can't quiet pin down. He honestly is my dead wife at this point, something I constantly think about and wish ended differently. I don't think I'll ever stop loving Wilbur, or the dsmp as a whole. It has given me so much that even with it's deep imperfections, I can't help but think of everything so fondly. I don't think I can ever leave Wilbur behind and I'm happy I didn't. Happy Birthday, See you next year <3
