In Sundials and Stars Masterpost
Might edit this more when I'm awake but I feel like it'll be useful to actually explain this nested AU in more detail, since just tagging 'unreality' isn't always going to cut it. So, without putting on that particular mask:
-- Consider the following: An alternate universe where Mirabelle was the protagonist of the game, and it was designed around her themes instead of Siffrin’s. A different reason to the loops, a different final boss, different conversations and focuses all throughout. Uncannily similar, yet different.
Now, make an AU of that where Siffrin loops instead. At the end of their Journey to defeat The Warden, a fanatic freezing Vaugarde in time to preserve their idea of Change, Mirabelle shows Siffrin the proper ritual to pray to the Change God. Such a simple ritual sets off an issue or five, and now our favourite mysterious fella is looping! --
That's the gist of it! I intend to make more posts down the line to make this AU as accessible as possible while keeping up the Bit. Committing to The Bit is paramount.
(Non-)Existing media I've made related to this AU: - Forever Changed (Written), the first piece made about it. After finishing Mirabelle's game, the author makes a siffrin!loops AU - In Our Mind (Written), the equivalent of the 'Then Who Was Phone?' event, Siffrin meeting the Stars. - F Sharp A Sharp (Visual). A non-existent fanfic that I will recurringly mention as a prime example of good Siffrin characterisation. - On Siffrin, (Written) a post concerning where Siffrin might possibly come from. Since Siffrin isn't the protagonist in this universe, our information on them is much more limited and can thus be misinterpreted too! - How The Warden Contrasts Siffrin (Written), a post about the thematic parallels and contrasts between The Warden, the main antagonist in this timeline, and Siffrin. - From The Pale Fog, Onto the Clear Skies (Written), dreams of home and prophecy trail behind Siffrin as they travel to the House. As they enter the loops, these things start to gain meaning. An exploration of Siffrin's past as interpreted with even more incomplete information.
